Staying fit is not part of the job, not part of their craft, and it's not why they became famous.

Image is very much apart of their job and why they become famous.

  2. I loved both Snakepit albums, some VR songs, and his solo albums. All solid stuff, what does Fortus have to compare? Fortus is a slot filler in place of a much better rhythm guitarist and musician. I consider him 3rd string to even Gilby Clarke. Same with Ferrer. Either of those two can leave tomorrow and the fans wouldn't bat an eye.

Man, time flies. What an awesome show that was, first time we got to see Slash play Guns material since 93, aside from a few. I had tons of hype leading up to his solo album, then to this show and a tour. So glad to see it hold together this long, their albums are great and can't wait to hear more.

  4. Yeah, just hell no on Fortus playing any of Slash's solos. He can play on the CD stuff for all I care, but not not classic Guns material. I'm not shelling out $1,200 in tickets just to find Fortus playing the PC outro, which I've waited YEARS to see Slash play. Oh god I would be pissed.

Have not seen ONE estranged video yet

Axl still sounds great on the lower register. He sounds fantastic in this video, as does Slash. Ferrer on the other hand...I dont mean to beat a Dead Horse, but holy shit he's just got to go....

  6. Much prefer the jubilees, however, he's doing something with his setup versus the UYI days when he was running the 2555 rig. It's pretty thin sounding, much more emphasis on the treble than the mids he use to go for. Compare Godfather from LV last night to Tokyo 92 for a good comparison. It hurt the Estranged performance for me, I always loved that rolled back tone he got in the 90s on that song. Hope he goes back sometime during the tour.

He did. I saw those too. I think he may have had six total that he used from 87-91. And then in St. Louis his entire backline was destroyed but I think he may have managed to save two or three of the jubilee heads. I've seen them on his rack a few times over the past couple years

I dont think that explains it at all. His tone carried on the same through the rest of the tour. It changed some during the Snakepit era, then again with VR. I think he used a Vintage Modern with the Jubilee head in stereo. I've heard the 2555x and it doesnt sound THAT much different than the original model. And his cabs are still just a box with V30s. Curious to see what his setup is for this tour. I wonder who is tech is these days.

He's using the Marshall Jubilee heads which are closer to the classic Appetite tone than the more distorted sound he used on the Illusions.

He used Marshall jubilees since at least the MTV show with GNR and all through the UYI tour and Snakepit tours even, just rebranded with Slash sig during Snakepit. Not sure what he's doing different now, but doesnt sound as good to me.

  9. Maybe it's my stream, but Slash's tone sounds terribly thin and weak. I was hoping for that thick and creamy sound he had during the 90s tours, but guess not. Sad Axl is fullbon Mickey now. I guess it's better than nothing, but sorry if I feel this performance sorta sullies the classic GNR name a little. Slash and Fortus don't mesh at all...
