  1. So Lately I've been trying to get into some of the new "80's" bands. Crashdiet and Veins of Jenna mostly. As for new 80's bands this is prob as close as we will get. While I thse bands are ok, there is something about them that makes them sound too much like modern radio rock bands, and I can't decide what it is.

I mean they totally look the part, and I think thats pretty badass.

From what I can tell the guitar seems to be mostly there.

I think it may be the vocals that don't do it for me. I'm not sure.

Now I know they can't and maybe even aren't trying to sound 100% 80s, but for sake of discussion what makes it sound different?

Compared to alot of the stuff out there today? thats why its different, and by all stanards, better. thank god for it to.

  2. I saw these guys a couple years back on the Bam Margera tour that was going around headlined by GWAR. I'll give them credit because I really enjoyed their music, but was turned off by the whole look. I kinda detest the whole throwback/retro stylings in this day and age when it comes to music. It's sorta like these artists are up there in costume and attempting to mimic something that once was, rather than do something original. I mean, God bless them/anyone else doing it too, I guess, but personally I'm not a fan of that sorta thing. Great music though, Veins of Jenna.

alot of bands from sweeden are rocking the whole 80's metal look. for example, Crashideit and hardcore superstar.

  3. when i was younger, i hated it cuz thats all my mom would listen to. but over time, it grew on me and i dig alot of it. Its good in its own rights. But by far one of the grest artist you have to check out it Blake Shelton. i love the dudes songs. He's my fav. country artist!

  4. Maybe alot of you heard of these guys. former "The Darkness" singer Justin 'dave' hawkins's new band Hot Leg album is to come out net month. i really hope to pick it up. their single "I've met Jesus" got me hooked!

Here's the video if none of you seen/heard it yet.

I think he kinda looks like david lee Roth in the video.

  5. the hell they are...

I don't wanna sound like a 13 year old emo. But it's childish calling Bill Kaulitz just cus of the way he dresses.

    is this enough proof

To clear up the misunderstanding, Bill was ten years old and he couldn't speak a word in English. And he wasn't even the one to choose that song. But really, I love Bill (Clearly) but I like his originality and his fearlessness to be someone no one else could be. He's a talented musician and song writer, and I am overjoyed to see them becoming a success here in the US. I am not choosing sides on either of these arguments, because when I first saw the group at the EMA's, I though he was a she and that their music wasn't appealing. Listen to songs other then Monsoon, and I'm sure you'll find something you like. If you want something more up beat, listen to Break Away (Ich Brech Aus if you want the German version) or maybe even Scream. I listened to Ready, Set, Go! (Their single here in the US) and fell in love with it. The German version is better. I would tell you what it is, but I can't type it. Uber End Der Welt, or something like that... Anyway, just give them a chance and you'll find something you'll like. My mother, whom is a die hard GN'R fan, likes them.

    xo XCHYLER !

I agree, i really dig the band! i thought they were better then alot these bands now-a-days with no real talent and sound like alot of other bands.

but that video was funny, i'll admit. :rofl-lol:

  6. I don't know about 5 bands, but if i had to choose.

    1. Anything that included Paul McCartney(hate that guy)

    2.The rolling stones

3.Elvis Costello(nothing he did i liked, thought his work sucked)

4.Vanilla ice(dude had some catchy songs, but was nothing special)

    5. macy fuckin' grey(Hated her songs!!!)

Tokio Hotel is the shit rock3

Even tough I'm kinda sick of them now...

I just picked up their CD, I'm really digging it!

  7. Randy Couture is back with the UFC and he takes on Brock Lesnar for the heavyweight championship in November, it's going to be a great fight. Glad to see Couture make his return and put all that legal shit behind him.

    Source

This would be a good fight, I'd love to see it. I DON'T want to see kongo fight Brock. How can people like kongo? The dude's an ass. The last fight he was in, wasn't even that good. It was boring. I'm not saying the dude cant fight, but still.

So, I hope that it is Randy Vs. Brock. It'd be a great fight!

  8. I wouldn't call that a premature stoppage. Haven't you seen the replays after those shots Kimbo gave Thompson? He was glazed over, man. One more punch and Thompson would've been unconscious. That poke to the eye thing was bullshit though.

I agree. Got home from work in time to watch it, Kimbo was gettin' beat hard i'll admit. But every punch kimbo hit thompson with hurt him, thats why he kept taking it to the ground, he knew was gonna get beat if he went toe to toe.

No one should say bout kimbo having no ground work, there are a few others in the UFC who are the same, no ground work.

Really? Name them, smart guy. Kimbo and that tomato can, Thompson are jokes, circus acts. Neither would last ONE round against Couture, Arlovsky, Vera, Sylvia, Fedor, Gonzaga, Werdum, Herring, Mir, etc. Hell, they'd get destroyed by any of the UFC Light Heavyweights!

your naming people that can fight on the ground. don't get me wrong, I like the UFC better then anyone else, Im just stating that there are a few peole in the UFC that aren't that great on the ground. Kimbo and thompson aren't that great, Im just saying that their ground work is no better then some others i've seen in the UFC. watch some of the Fight Nights, some of the newer people ha ve ground work dude.
