  1. I'd take Silkworms at this point, or even a slightly remixed CD song, I'm just glad the band is still doing something.

    glad of what?

    not even an offical photo?

at that counts to gnr is money.

    music don't really matters.

I don't care if they ever release a group photo. Who cares. Pictures or posters are for junior high female fans.

Money? Hate to burst your bubble, but ALL bands care about the money. All bands.

All this crying......why are u here then? Go support a band that you enjoy.

i don't want to fight with anyone here. i have the right to expose my opinions.

so, if you don't respect it, fuck you. simple as that.

  2. Are you guys STILL so naive that you think "new" song will be played?? :rofl-lol:

It will be the same rutine once again. Just as every other "Chinese Democracy" tour. Wait and see.

Remember, we still have that deal that if Guns show up to RIR, you leave these forums, if they don't, I leave.

I think you can count me in on this.

If RIR is a no show, I will never bother about GNR again.

If RIR is a no show. This band is knocked down, finished and counted out.

    Yes, it's true.

RIR is the biggest rock event ever made. no news=see ya gnr.

  3. Been a diehard fan since I was like 10 years old. Love every iteration of the band, but most of all, the talent and enigma of Axl throughout it all is epic. They don't make rockstars like that anymore!

I'm 32 now and unfortunately my flame is starting to burn less vibrantly for the band and man I've adored as a fan for decades. I feel as though Axl has been a soldier of misfortune the past 10-15 years. I'm sure he feels the same too with all the shit he's had to deal with. But as a fan and follower, its the lack of communication most of all that has lessened my passion. I'm not talking about intimate details about the man's life, but just some general knowledge of where things are heading for the band and the GNR brand.

I think with an attempted reach out to fans and a strategic approach, Axl and GNR could really earn back the accolades of so many. I'm sure there are lawsuits and such and this may be part of the silence, it's just all so unfortunate for such a talented force to be muted and resultingly inactive.

So my challenge, and please join me with a hell yeah or go fuck yourself or whatever, is to get this thread a long as possible and get Axl's attention that there's a ton of us out here that give a shit and wanna hear from him. We care and we know you have it in you to recapture the hearts of millions with your talent. It's do or die time for this band/brand at Rock in Rio and if there's a subsequent US tour. Either blow it out of the water - fucking kill it with a blend of the classic hits and something substantively NEW (even rare Chinese cuts or unreleased material) to show you're relevant....or, shut er down and walk away with your integrity. Set the wheels in motion or fucking rip up the tracks. If it's just going through the motions for legal reasons or cash, it ain't worth it any more.

    Peace and god bless GNR!

PS - no offense or disrespect intended here - I honestly just care.

    great point of view.

    i agree.

  4. Well that's that. Probably less than a 10% chance for a new nu song. I'm sincerely suprised. I thought for sure rock in rio would be the beginning of something.

To be fair some of you guys did make too much out of too little. "Yeah, we're writing songs all the time!" "OMFGZ NEWW ALBUMZZZ SOOONNN!" Sadly, and I do mean sadly, it looks like the skeptics are gonna be right yet again.

It shouldn't surprise anyone that the band hasn't recorded new songs in-between these tours. Axl has been busy with a law suit and the other members have been doing their own stuff. What could happen, though, is the debut of one or a few new "old" songs. Songs intended for the twin album to CD. In other words, one or more of the songs that Axl has intended for the next release. It is fair to assume many of the members have already rehearsed some of these songs before (during CD rehearsals and recordings), and when the band convene in LA for tour rehearsals some of these songs could be brought up again, especially if Axl intends to release the follow-up after the tour.

Completely new songs written by the current live line-up needs to be written before they can be played live. I doubt they will start writing and rehearsing really new songs now in LA, especially if Axl insists on not being part of the rehearsals.

So, to summarize. A few new old songs may be played at RIR, if Axl feels they are ready to be debuted. Still, the majority of the set-list will be like in 2010.

    maybe round 1.5..

    :rofl-lol:

  5. For a show with a short setlist, Axl would not have any problems doing TWAT.

But for a full concert, a song like TWAT or COMA would drain him out and leave nothing for the closing song of Paradise City.

Axl would probably do TWAT more if TWAT replaced Paradise City, but obviously that is not going to happen.

And an album does not need to have only songs that a person can perform live all the time. A live concert is different than listening to an album in the comfort of your house.

Songs like TWAT take too much out of Axl. That's the only reason why they are not perform.

Would love to hear Estranged, Civil War, and TWAT be regulars on the setlist. I know TWATS a bitch to sing, but that's one of the few songs on CD that has major replay value to me, and should have been released as a single imo.

yeah, twat is a great song, but i can't see any sense is record a song, and don't play it live.

if this is a problem from him...don't release songs that can't to sing. simple as that.

how many times twat was played?

Does Iron Maiden or Metallica play every single song they have ever released live regularly?

but, man, we are talking about one of the better songs from cd, the last record released.

and we are talking about gnr, not metallica, iron, or lady gaga.

  9. Let's face it. If they weren't associated with axl, most of us wouldn't give a shit. By proxy, if the shit they are doing has nothing to do with axl singing... I really don't give a shit about them. I mean, damn, if ya really give a shit about what these dudes are doing outside of Guns n' Roses, more power to you. But this has been said a million times. Funny cuz these band members (aside from ashba who I also don't give a shit about) almost get mad (or seem to sometimes) about the FACT that the main reason they have any fans is because they are in "gnr". When Axl does a side project that isn't gnr, I'll care about it... unless he isn't singing.

    i agree with u.

    see ya.

  10. tommy sucks.

he always said that gnr is just a good job from him.

    Source?

In this day and age we should really provide sources before trying to stir shit and hurt other people's reputations without supporting evidence.

Tommy Stinson, former member of The Replacements, has two steady jobs, playing bass for both Soul Asylum and for GUNS N 'ROSES. He also has a solo album coming out, 'One Man Mutiny'.

In a new interview with U.S. website Articles Philly, Stinson was asked about the two bands.

"Soul Asylum, I know those guys since we were together at school, Dave [Pimero] and I at least," says Stinson. "They're nice guys and had fun playing together. It's a labor of love. Guns is a different thing, since it is a bunch of guys who come from every corner grouped in this musical soup, and has a totally different thing. It's a band of employees - when we compose in any way. Guns has been nothing but a good job for me for 12 years. I got no expectations. Never thought I'd stick to 12 years, but here I am. "

What?! What the hell is that tampered shit? That's not the same interview I read.

"SOUL ASYLUM, I've known those guys since we all went to school together, Dave [Pirner, SOUL ASYLUM frontman] and I anyway. They're good guys and we have a good time playing together. That's more a labor of love. GUNS is a different thing in that it's a bunch of guys that come from all walks of life put together in this musical soup, and it has a whole different thing going on. It's more of a collaborative band thing — when we write, anyway. GUNS has been nothing but a good gig for me for 12 years now. I started it with no expectations. I didn't think it would last 12 years, but here I am."

  12. band members...everthing but gnr activity.

    sheet news.

I'd say we're thinking it the wrong way. ;)

We should just ignore Guns when they're inactive, and enjoy the solo stuff while it's still going on!

That damn Gn'R will get together again soon, then it will be too late to catch Mr. General playing One Man Mutiny!

Maybe Wikipedia should consider Guns not being active 1985-2011 but as follows:

    Active

    1985-1994

    1997-1999

    2001-2002

    2006-2007

    2008

    2009-2011

Okay man, but Tommy isn't the general. is so much for him.

    see ya.
