rock4eva I read somewhere that the zoo that had Marius was not wanting for him to be bred in other zoos. Due to they wanted that breed of giraffes within a controlled group. So in other words,they didn't want a different breed of giraffes mixing with whatever breed Marius was. They are trying to increase his breeds population.

And the way that I took all of this was ,the zoo that had him,didn't trust an outside zoo to not breed him. Even if another zoo said they wouldn't breed him. So instead they killed him.

that's like a couple killing they're own son or daughter cuz they dont have the money to feed him and they don't trust on outsiders to take care of him/her

To me it seems that Axl had jumped to the same thoughts as everybody else about the giraffe. And how it was wrong. And then he done a little more research into it. And saw how both sides had good points. But that the zoo didn't really come across with their points,so that the public understood their views on it. And seems Axl doesn't agree with them allowing the public to view the actual kill and feeding of Marius to the lions.

My take on the whole situation. Would have been to sterilize Marius,sell him to one of the zoos offering to buy him. Use the money they would've gotten from the sale and funded the program further. Win win for everyone. Marius would have lived and still served an educational purpose at another zoo.

And the zoo that killed him. Still would have the free space for other giraffes that would be fit for the breeding program.

Although,I wish that Axl would quit being or trying to sound or come across,as so damn philosophical and just use plain damn English! LOL

they wanted to put on a show for people and gain publicity. Remember there's no such thing as bad publicity so mission accomplished .

I hate that Miles's voice. It's so nasal and no one and I mean no one can sing GNR songs except Mr. Axl Rose.

I can't stand Myles voice on GnR songs, it doesn't fit.

He sounds great with Alter Bridge though and with his work with Slash.

I'd much rather have had Axl singing with the band that night.

Unfortunately........feuds and pride are more important to him than giving the fans a treat.

You mean people that have financially supported Axl since 1988? People that have bought multiple copies of every album he has put out, including numerous copies of CD that I gave to friends as gifts? People that have purchased more GnR t-shirts and posters than I can remember? People who proudly the wore the original Appetite t-shirt when they were 18......and then looked on proudly when his 18-year-old son wore the CD t-shirt? People that have spent around 10-grand to watch GnR concerts over the years? People that have said that CD is the best rock album of the last decade? People that have said that CD is the most underrated hard rock album of all time? People that desperately wish their favorite rock singer would have released more than one album over the last 15 years? People that have said they don't care who Axl plays with - old band, current band, new band - they just wish they could hear new music from their favorite singer? People who have said they'd pay $500 today for a box set of music from Axl?

It is funny how you somehow celebrate the fact that Axl doesn't care about his fans. Most musicians put their own personal feelings and pride aside to do things that celebrate and show appreciation for their fans. Because they know that without the fans - they don't have their fame and fortune and mansions and dream life.

Oh, and on a side note. Your condescending arrogant douche-bag attitude isn't helping Axl or the band. It just makes you look like a condenscending arrogant douche-bag. Axl created Guns n' Roses, the afd line up turned the band into the biggest band in the world, they all fucked up at one point or another and most of them decided to quit, axl stayed and went trough a lot of shit but never gave up on guns n roses, he came back and he fought and fought and fought till he was able to complete his masterpiece. All that has broken the man down in my opinion...all the hating, all the fight, the all divorce situation and the band breaking up...and finally not the bad reviews chinese got but the fact that it was ignored by everyone and instead people choose to continue and bash the new band and attack Axl like he's the big villain...

All that imo broke Axl, i can't say what goes in the man's head but we of all people should be supporting him...when i say "we" i mean those who spent enough time in a message board to know the true facts about everything that happened and everything he went trough. When Zeppelin got together for the Celebration Day concert, the band was required to “tune down a step” to better accommodate Plant’s aging voice. Now I’m not a musician so I don’t fully understand what it means that the band "tuned down a step" (maybe the musicians on the board can elaborate on that), but it seemed to work for the most part when Zep did it. Would something similar work for Guns? As Axl’s voice has and will continue to deteriorate (which is normal and unavoidable as one ages) do you see Gun’s new music being created with this in mind, and are there ways in which the already existing music might be tweaked when played live to better accommodate Axl’s vocals (at least at those times when he seems to be struggling to hit some of the notes)? Is the band already doing this and I just haven’t noticed?

Voices deteriorate as one ages? Do you have medical evidence of this? Can you cite any sources? Just curious. Whenever I hear Steven Tyler, Mick Jagger, David Gilmour, Roger Waters, Sting, Steve Nash, Paul McCartney, David Bowie and a host of other artists well into their 60's (and some even 70's), they all sound better than ever. Do you think it really has to do with age, or the fact that people who don't exercise their voice when their living is singing? I think some people just 'have it' and could walk out on stage. Others work hard staying at the top of their game. Axl's never given a reason for why he sounds like Mickey Mouse often nowadays. So until he does, I'm attributing it to LAZINESS and NOT CARING.

They euthanized the giraffe to prevent in-breeding. Then, they were able to conduct an autopsy and feed the lions with the carcass.

But the young giraffe was healthy AND several other zoos offered to take care of the giraffe ! They killed it to put on a show for people and that's awful and cruel! The zoo manager and the guy who killed the giraffe should be the ones skinned and thrown to the lions, fuck'em

Yes all the evidence points to the fact that he had a big hand in the members of the AFD era Guns leaving the band so in essence he was a main factor in that version of the band breaking up despite you being in denial and refusing to accept the facts.........

To me is pretty obvious that although they all are to blame at one point or another for the break up of the "original" band, that one of the most important reasons was slash's ego! The man was playing with every big name out there and he thought he didn't need Guns N' Roses so why deal and try to solve all the problems the band had when he could just say "fuck it" ?

Does anyone remember a story of Axl's brother saying Axl decided to cut his hair prior to his mother's passing, since she always complained about this? A friend of mine told me this story she read in a magazine in the 90's. His mom died in '96, so there you go...
