  1. Does the fact that this was an acoustic benefit show to support disabled and needy children escape the haters? If you expected a crazy powerful GNR type performance, you obviously are missing the point of the whole show as kids were in the front row and to the side of the stage. Some bands from what I have seen didn't even play their hits and the backlash is absurd.

The one thing I will at least tolerate as a somewhat valid argument is he probably didn't rehearse. Most likely due to the illness which caused some issues on songs, but we don't have proof he rehearses with the band period. Jungle to my knowledge has never been performed truly without an electric and probably should never be. It wasn't meant to be played that way and fucked with Axl due to the tempo change

Its not the end of the world or the band and we have several reasons to be excited with the Vegas shows coming and rumors of a new CD.

And before it comes from the cupcakes...these arent excuses, they all are valid opinions

  2. Worst thread ever. We are all dumber for having read this nonsense. Everyone with multiple posts in this thread should be banned. Yes even you bumblefoot

God it's Estranged not Astranged, do you know anything supporter ?

Nah i dont know anything. Name is Anthony, favorite song Estranged...

That makes multiple posts in this thread. By your logic, you should be banned.

In other news, I think the mods/admins have completely forsaken this place and the inmates are now running the asylum.

Im happy you can count and I will glady ban myself from this discussion as should you as nothing been duscussed all day. Mostly bitching and rambling of 5 or 6 people. The sign says dont feed the cupcakes

  3. Such an odd thing for a singer not to release. Sure, he may be sitting on it just to spite Slash......but is that more important than doing something that literally millions of his fans would love???

    To Axl?.....yes.....

  4. Axl was in hiding and trying to build his own band

    He wasn't "building" anything.

He was hiring guys to tour around and play the old bands songs using a popular brand name.

That Axl (and many of the people around here) don't understand that is why he is largely seen as a joke and not taken seriously as anything other than a tribute act is dumbfounding.

One album since slash left. Couldn't find a way to make this work. Instead of the blame game and expressing frustration that he cant make this happen, before I get stereotyped into pro slash, I am 100% behind Axl until this point. GNR is my favorite band, its not even close, listened to them every day of my life, but I can't understand what the vision is. What is your plan for this band Axl? If you didn't want the responsibility of the hall of fame and the publicity around the name, then start your own band. I know the history so spare me the known details.

IF a record comes out with proper promotion and information is distributed in a logical manner than I could care less about the Hall. Considering recent events, this probably won't happen so again, WHAT IS THE PLAN FOR THIS BAND?'

  5. You are in Malibu at some club, its 4 am, Axl walks in and sits down next to you, you can ask 3 questions that he must answer(even if they're super long confusing Axl answers) what would you ask?

    Mine would be

    1. How many finished songs are in the vault?

    50

“We were finishing tracks,” Zutaut confirms. “Doing overdubs with Buckethead and Robin Finck and some stuff with Tommy Stinson. I felt we had a well-finished version of ‘The Blues,’ ‘Madagascar’ and ‘Chinese Democracy.’ ‘Atlas Shrugged’ was pretty good.” Though Josh Freese had laid down the original drum tracks, he was no longer in the band. “And because of Axl’s belief that the record is supposed to be the energy of the people involved in creating it, we had to replace Josh Freese’s drumming,” Zutaut explains. “And his drumming was spectacular.” The task fell to Brian “Brain” Mantia. “I would not have wanted to be in Brain’s shoes,” Zutaut says. “Basically we were saying to him, ‘We have got a brilliant performance of this and now we need you to recreate it.’ ”

    2. Why exactly do you hate slash?

    This helps explain it

"The guitarist was deep into it one evening when Rose turned up. “Axl sees that Bucket is running this porn,” Zutaut recalls. “And it is pretty hardcore stuff. It’s not soft porn by any stretch of the imagination. And Axl is really disturbed by it.” Zutaut explained the situation to Rose, but the singer was not moved. “He said music is about energy and we are transferring a creative spirit and vibe within the music,” Zutaut says. “He said, ‘I really can’t have the vibe of dirty depraved porn being a part of my record. It is really not what this record is about, you know?’ ”

The story sheds much light on Rose’s philosophy about the creative process. “Axl is a firm believer that the energy, or soul, of everyone involved in the process comes through in the final artistic piece,” Zutaut explains. “So he works really hard to make sure what comes in and goes out is pure and right for his vision. Which is why Axl was always very disturbed about the former Gunners’ heroin use and what effect it had on their creativity.”

    3. Where were you from 1994-2000?

Im goin with traveling the world between africa china and south america between appearances here and there

    What would be your Q&A

  6. Would seeing Axl on stage performing with Slash be good enough for you? I think that's what we all want to see more than anything else. Yeah, it would be cool if it was the whole AFD lineup, but I really just want to see Axl and Slash when it comes right down to it. We all know that the two of them together (under the GNR name) could sell out stadiums around the world.

What really matters is what THEY (Axl & Slash) want, not what we want.

If they are happy and want to play together again then go ahead BUT if this were not the case, why would we have to insist on it over and over and over?.

Maybe because those two were the biggest thing on the planet in the music industry ever for the brief time they held it together....

  7. Exactly, the truth in all this is that they will never recapture the glory. The sum of the parts was greater than any of them alone. They made the biggest splash of any band and now we all are just riding the ripples from the original waves.....

I had a great time during the US tour but to not play at the HOF would be a damn shame. Axl should finish the damn record and release it in time for christmas.

Im not advocating a reunion but it would be the best thing for all parties. I love bumble DJ and bucket but in the end the old band made the name what it is today. I am happy either way but I want new music and for my favorite band to play at the hall of fame...for the fans.....

  8. The bottom line in all of this is that its a true shame and tarnishes the legacy a bit if they don't play..... to not give the fans one last show ruins it a bit for me. I love Axl, think its his band and he can do what he wants, but c'mon man just one time for old times sake..... it will make headlines regardless so why not make it a positive for the band to build momentum for the next record....(yes I believe one will come out eventually)

  9. Very disappointing to hear, but I still have hope that as it gets closer or maybe even the day of knowing how Axl operates they will decide to play. It makes sense that there is not collaboration, due to the nature of their relationship, of putting together an agenda of songs, to give the fans what they want. Perhaps nothing is being announced on purpose and when they get up there, theyll say lets rock jungle SCOM and paradise then head their separate ways.........

  10. Anyone have 3 extra tickets? PM me if so

    Is the show sold out?

No, just would like to pay 200 instead of retail. Skipping work, driving sunday at midnight from Pittsburgh. Saw them in Pittsburgh in 92, last year in camden, and always wanted to see them in a club setting. This is going to be sick. Do you know where the fuck you are!!!!!!!!!!

  11. I hope they hit the studio and start from scratch with a combination of appetite rockers and a mix of illusion/CD style ballads. A big question is if Axl will allow collaborative efforts on lyrics......

  12. Axl's chance to make this band its own came and went with Chinese. The time it took and his antics have caused most of the general public to move on. Most of us on the forum are hoping they hit it big again but the music scene has changed so much that it probably wont happen. The facts are that appetite created a tidal wave and what we have left are just the after affects of that original impact that five created. They may have a hit or two left with the newer guys but the lack of promotion has killed a lot of the momentum. You may point to Rio and Chinese as progress but again its been too long to create and sustain momentum to get what we all want, which is Guns back on top. I love the new guys and I love Chinese but if ur expecting axl to take over the world again at his age and to meet the expectations he created for himself, your high. It takes him a longer time to produce music due to his expectations.

Bottom line is most bands from that original era are just enjoying the fruits of their labor from that original impact they had, axl included.....

  13. Do you guys think axl actually has a safe full of all this shit? Everyone refers to this vault and I am aware of all things that may be in there.

I guess what I am getting at is do you think all this stuff even still exists of was it destroyed in some depressed rage by axl or given to/analyzed by Yoda and disappeared forever?

Marc Canter recorded a lot of the early Guns shows, audio and video.

i have no idea who owns the rights to these recording but do you think he should release some of the early shows officialy?

That would be great but considering Axl has a motherload of pro audio and video recordings, supposedly the complete UYI tour was recorded and professionally videotaped, in the vault which he has so far refused to release I doubt that he would agree to let Marc release his audience recorded audio/video material.......
