  1. Hi Liar

RECAP OF THE SIMPLE FORUM RULES TO FOLLOW:

    1) Be polite and respect other members and point of views; harassment, vulgar insults and namecalling will not be tolerated

We're not allowed to say that MSL is a liar?

  2. And if Slash is doing 5% of the business GNR does, could GNR's numbers really be that bad?

He would be doing better business if he were calling himself GNR. But, like the other former members, they're all over it and don't really care.

Slash is not going under his own name because he is "over it" or doesn't "really care". He can't legally.

    Ali

Isn't that the reason he signed away the band name? He and Duff wouldn't think it was still Guns N' Roses. I've never really heard Slash say that he wanted to continue Guns N' Roses without the other members? Do you have sources Ali?

What the hell are you talking about? Slash does not have the option to call his solo venture GN'R because he doesn't have the legal right to do so. He doesnt own the band name.

    Ali

You imply that Slash would have continued as Guns N' Roses as opposed to his own name but unfortunately can't legally. Do you have sources that show that Slash tried to tour as Guns N' Roses Ali but unfortunately couldn't? You reiterate that he doesn't have this as an option but that wasn't your response, you explained his motive for touring as Slash instead of GN'R. Who are you to say what Slash's thought processes are? Where are your sources?

  4. Great post. I have never really believed in the Izzy Renaissance myself. To me Slash was the better songwriter and way more important.

I'm intrigued by your opinion and would like to know more. What are some of your favorite "Slash" songs? Songs that he was the primary writer of.

SCOM, WTTJ, Coma, Slither, Beggers and Hangers On, Beautiful Dangerous, Anastasia, November Rain, Estranged, Paradise City, Rocket Queen, Nightrain, Obsession Confession.

I'm going to make my blasphemous thread about Izzy soon enough. It will be a bridge burner.

  5. anyone who doesn't recognize that Axl and Izzy were the primary songwriters have some reading to do. I suggest starting with books by Duff, Slash, and Steven. Then take a look at AFD, Lies, and UYIs. I can't believe people are arguing about this. Slash and Duff played minor roles in songwriting.

    Seriously? Really? Why?

You honestly don't see how people could see this differently? Guess you don't think much of the guitar work in Jungle, the guitar solo in Sweet Child O' Mine, or the riffs in Coma. Quantitatively you are more right than wrong, but qualitatively you're far off the mark.

Axl and Izzy might be Guns N' Roses to you, but your opinion may not vibe with someone who was into Guns for Slash's solos or Duff's base lines (imagine It's So Easy or SCOM without Duff), or maybe even Steven's drumming (Rocket Queen, Mr. Brownstone).

The band means many things to many people, who are you or anyone else for that matter to say otherwise?

    Cheers,

    Andrew

  6. Soulmonster chill the fuck out jesus christ

its a goddamn internet forum and you're jumping down everyones throats, people have opinions whether you agree with them or not doesn't mean you need to throw a hissy fit

Soul Monster is the one being jumped on for his opinions, not the other way around. For Christ's sake...

    I rate your post a 1

  7. In regards to pointing the finger at Axl for everything as ordering tee- shirts to not be worn by fans at shows, models at front of stage to the state of new music being recorded by the current line up and to a new possible album there are sometimes circumstances outside of the control of one Mr W Axl Rose.

It's sad to hear that Axl doesn't have the ability to let people know they are free to wear Slash tee-shirts and put in his rider that he doesn't want any models are side-shows while they are on stage.

  8. I think I remember you saying that you were just a casual fan that was became interested in New GNR instead of the old band. I believe you mentioned this when you were describing how, by happenstance, an amateur wrestler became somebody that released new songs to the public. I think you may have posted this on CD.com some years back. More recently though you have described being a rabid fan since Sweet Child o' Mine was released in 1988. I don't have the links to verify but that's the way I remember it and this contrast is why I see your posts as a ruse.

Yeah, what a ruse that would be. Making sure to have an encyclopedic knowledge of the history of a band I barely like so I can cupcake the ex-fans of that band.

I'm pretty sure that is exactly what it is. I remember you posting that you became interest in new GNR in the late 90s or something like that and that you weren't a fan of the old band. I wouldn't waste time searching but I think it's somewhere on CD.com when you were describing your phone conversations with Axl. I don't remember everything.
