  1. A tour was confirmed by DJ Ashba to happen this year as possibly a promotion for a new Guns N Roses album.

"We are planning on doing quite a bit of touring this coming year," Ashba said. "The focus is getting in a studio and putting together what we all feel is the best Guns N' Roses record. Lack of material is not an issue. We have tons of stuff."

Interesting... we all know that they have about 3 or 4 albums worth of material ready but it still makes me excited to read this. I know I'm getting excited for possibly nothing but still.. :)

  2. Btw, it's nice that IB Times has marked a new Guns N' Roses album as one of the upcoming releases of 2015: http://www.ibtimes.com/new-music-2015-over-30-most-anticipated-albums-coming-out-new-year-list-1769116

    :D

Then again there's enough material done for at least two or three albums, but Axl just wants to "create stuff and release it when it's ready" like Richard commented back in early December. :)

  3. I remember in 2011 saying that if they started recording then we could have a new album realistically by 2013. Yes, i'm cringing at how naive i was. I think realistically we're looking at around 2017/18 before even a single song is gonna appear.

Well we got Going Down back in 2013.. :P

One thing that could push Axl & Team Beta forward with CD II is more leaks. After all it was all the leaks what eventually put enough pressure on Axl back in 2005-2007 to release ChiDem. I wonder what the situation could have been if there weren't no leaks at all??

  4. I always liked this bootleg, these monitor recordings make it feel like you are on the backstage with the band (also that video bootleg from 16th Dec 2009 which was shot from the screens is quite nice). You also get to hear how the band operates during gigs, to me it seems like at least Tommy and Axl are the guys who are leading the show. Also, it's still amazing how Axl came after a 2 year break from touring and immediately did these over 3 hour shows with that hard singing style.

Axl and the whole band seemed to be in great mood during these gigs back in December 2009, and we all know that when Axl is in good mood that equals a great show. It must have felt great for all of them to finally be able to play almost every song from Chinese Democracy live. Also those jokes Axl makes with Tommy etc. show some glimpses of that funny and laid back side of Axl, to me it feels like there's a still that boy in him who just wants to joke around, relax and have fun.

"Do you ever feel like you are perpetually in a bad episode of the Simpsons?" - Axl :)

also it's funny when Ron starts to play a bit from Estranged during his Pink Panther solo Axl immediately says "I heard that!" :)

  5. New album next year?? Well that picture that Axl posted from studio (?) definitely gave me more hope when thinking about 2015 and plans about the new album.. but then again it might be just Axl joking with us, who knows anymore? :P

But anyway.. as always I definitely hope they (=Axl & Team Beta?) could release some new music next year. Even playing some brand new songs on next year's gigs would be a big step forward. I remember the excitement around 2006-2008 when we heard those leaks and finally the whole new album.. I want to feel that excitement again. After all it has already been 6 fuckin' years (time sure flies by, huh?) since CD came out and in my opinion putting a couple of brand new tracks to setlist could be a wise move.

In next few years it will be interesting to se what the management and the band will do with Guns N' Roses. Do they take the easy route and continue touring and making easy money that way and quit when Axl feels like it's time to do it or could they challenge themselves by really fighting for the release of one or even two new albums?

Unfortunately now it's a different situation than it was with Chinese Democracy. Back then even the general public at least knew about this infamous project and that put at least some pressure on Axl and the management, Chinese Democracy had to be released after all. Now it's mainly the hardcore fans who are still waiting for another new album, I don't think that the general audience which comes to gigs to hear those basic classic songs even knows that there have been plans for a brand new GNR album.

At least one thing's for sure: there are a lot of songs unreleased and done (I bet they have at least 30 songs ready by now) and I'm quite sure we'll hear them one day, I can't see that Axl will take them to grave with him. Luckily I'm a quite young fella myself so maybe I'll see that day sometime. :D

  6. It's kind of hard to keep up with Buckethead nowadays, I'm just occasionally checking out what he's doing and he always has about 3-5 new albums (or pikes) out. It seems like I have to check at least pikes #90 and #95 out now. Last Pike which I really liked was Pike #65, there's some incredible stuff on that one.

I'm still hoping that Buckethead would release another album like Electric Sea, to me that's the kind of Buckethead that I really love even though I really enjoy listening to those kind of pikes that I've mentioned here.

If you liked Electric Sea, you'll probably like his latest pike Passageways.

Yeah, this sounds excellent, Buckethead has done it again! Thanks for the recommendation(s)! :)

  7. Many great pictures have already been posted, but here are couple of my favorite "Axl looks":

around 1991 when he wore this bulletproof vest, I have always thought that it looked pretty badass (couldn't find a better picture but you get the idea):

Also some t-shirts he wore on UYI tour looked nice, for example (I wish I could find a t-shirt like this from somewhere!):

this style from the 2002 Asian (?) tour is what I like too, IMO he should have used this style more often on 2002 tour:

aaaand a last one of my favorites (I likethose pants! :P ):

  9. Those 2010 versions of the song are the best from the new lineup IMO, Axl's rasp was back and he could sing these kind of songs properly. If you compare that to 2002, the difference is HUGE. Unfortunately nowadays he has more difficulties with YCBM, Better etc.
