  1. They're not complete idiots. They know Axl likely has no intentions of putting out more music especially after the stress and inconvenience of the Chinese Democracy release. Axl seems content to let GNR ride on autopilot for the foreseeable future. Hell, tour legs as of late are nothing more than extended vacations for Axl and Team Buttheads (C'mon, South America & Vegas?). Stress free and easy seems to be the name of the game.

Exactly, this is the way things are done in a GNR camp these days. But I don't blame Axl and his team, this is the way to make easy and stress-free money, that's for sure.

  2. It'll be definitely interesting to see what happens after Vegas Residency, and what 2015 brings for GN'R.. Axl isn't getting any younger and the time is running out when it comes to releasing new music. Axl, 1999: "I'm not working on all this to keep it buried." Yeah.. for sure. Now it seems that we have to wait that Axl dies before we can hear rest of the new songs, and I don't want to go that route.

  3. I really do feel for these guys sometimes. I'm sure the money is decent enough, but it in Richards case, it must be incredibly frustrating to know that even after 12 years (a Slave?) in the band now, that he still has absolutely zero control over when we get to hear new music, and that it relies solely on the most unreliable man in rock history and whatever stooge is managing him that week.

After Chinese came out Richard said that his favorite GNR track was one that still hadn't been released. Must kill him to know that a song he recorded on and loves will likely never see the light of day...

Yeah, that's exactly how I also see this thing. It must be so frustrating to first be in a band over 10 fuckin' years and still you have only one new album out. Just keep on touring and touring year after year... You work your ass off to make great music for us the fans and still nothing happens (except one album in about 16 years). The "new guys" must have had that fire burning deep down inside around 2000 when they started working on Chinese Democracy, and look what's the situation now.

And also, guys like Richard are still quite young, they could have easily done about five new studio albums by now (I bet they have over ~40 songs ready and done by now), the new lineup really had that energy especially when they started.. but no.. everything has to be so goddamn complicated.

  4. Looks like Richards not too happy RS published his comments.

I sent him a politely worded email asking for confirmation that they were, in fact, working to get the album out within a year and his response was "Please do not email me any more questions. You should talk to Fernando."

    Nice, Richard...

Why in the world does Fernando have this much power within Guns n Roses?

Well maybe that's why it takes forever to release any new music? It's much more easier to make money by touring.

  5. In the Golden Gods performance, I was under the impression that Fortus was the new main guitarist of gnr. He had more screen time and when BBF was soloing, the spotlight wasn't being shone on him. And axl did introduce him 3 times or so

And he definitely deserved that. Fortus has become my favorite guitarist of this lineup, and quite easily also.

  6. Nice article indeed, my picks would be:

    1. Madagascar

    2. There Was A Time

    3. Prostitute

    4. I.R.S.

    5. Sorry

Bonus picks: 1999 versions of Catcher in the Rye and I.R.S., I like the raw sound especially on IRS. I totally fell in love with Catcher back in the day when fans only had this version, so that's probably why this version is still close to my heart. On the album some songs (Catcher for instance) sound a bit too over produced, but otherwise I still love CD a lot.

  7. I haven't been following Buckethead's releases this year so I'm now listening to Worms for the Garden and this is absolutely amazing! Buckethead did it AGAIN, what an incredible talent this man is.. WOW!

Last year I totally fell in love with Electric Sea, that's probably one of my favorite albums from Buckethead so far, I love his calming albums like that one.

  8. @ClaudeF

From what we've heard from people at the gig, the guy in the Slash shirt was actively heckling the band.

So Axl's "and you ain't got nothing better to do, and I'm bored!!" comes straight from his heart. :) Love the energy on these videos, especially at the end of WTTJ. The crowd is jumping and going WILD while the band is kicking ass, I can only imagine the adrenaline rush going through for example Axl at that moment.

  9. I would otherwise go with the same lineup as on the first post, but I would still have Bucket back. Mainly because I love this solo so much:

Frank is a good drummer, but I always loved Brian's sexy groove, especially on Rocket Queen he was kicking ass!

  10. Greatest Hits is probably the most important CD of my life so far, at least when I think about the impact that album had on me. Back in 2004 I became a GNR fan because of this album, and even though the track list could be a little bit better, I still have good memories of the time when I first got hooked on GNR music. I think GNR got many new fans because of this album, and that's always a good thing when younger generations find great music like this.
