He did a lot of rehearsal and some promotional material for ACDC, but I guess he was working for them at the time and could take their instructions. With his mental health issues and being the 'leader' of the band as well as the one responsible for any critical feedback.(Noone will blame Fernando or Dizzy Reed if they don't like The General.) He probably feels too insecure or wants some negative feedback.

To be fair they did have some very magical times, but only because of Axl's genius - without him the other members don't ever seem to grow as musicians in the same way.

Short, but decent review. 

I wonder what format they will release this on the 18th? Maybe as an exclusive in shopping malls only? Elevator music? During telephone calls when placed on hold?

I'm sure the lyrics used to be available for Soul Monster,  but I can't find them anywhere now. I'm sure I saw them a few years ago though. If you can find them they can go with one of the instrumentals.

Did Slash say exactly how many songs he'd worked on?

It makes sense to release Absurd as their first single in so long. If they had released anything that sounded like Appetite, but not as good, they would be equally slated. It's a good choice all things considered.
