Nice 6 day hole towards the end if June and next concert after that is Glasgow on the Tuesday 27th. So they will be in the UK over the weekend of Glastonbury....

Think it's obvious what is going to slot into that hole...

My thoughts exactly. It's not down to Guns to announce that they're playing Glasto. Timeline fits perfect for them to headline and have some downtime in UK between shows.

    Now that would be something!

I would sign up for the package to get my hands on that. We've all had access to selects and been able to see plenty of footage from the rest of NITL but the Troubadour would be a great scoop as it is what kicked all this off and we've only seen parts of the show.

I doubt it is but can only dream.

You're conflating Axls ability to sell massive amounts of tickets, with his ease to work with. No one here will argue Axl isnt a superstar who is a hall of famer. Doesn't mean he is an easy to work with bloke. The revolving door of promoters, managers, band members and venue bans testify to this.

And yes, fans may be wrong about his on stage time, but when you are late (by hours, causing riots, no shows and ruining peoples nights) for 30 years, it's a hard tag to shake off. Axl doesnt sound terrible at the venue, though he doesnt sound great. Axl does sound bad on film. again, as every comment suggests. there's been nothing for a long while to suggest he'll suddenly be at 2010 levels for glastonbury which is a notoriously tough audience.

I'll give you an example of modern Axl. At download festival 2018 GnR headlined. Axl demanded a separate backstage area of the highest standards be built specifically for him - no one else. This was on top of the enormous cost hiring GnR comes with. So they built it, rearranged the back stage, and made the Axl only backstage area. He turned up before the show, threw his jacket in, then went on stage, played a great 3 hour show, then went straight to his helicopter and flew off. to facilitate the helicopter the crowd (of which i was in) was held back for 20 minutes after the show from leaving so he could get to his helipad. Now, this is the nice best of the best Axl. Promoters do not like working for or with him, but will tolerate this shit if the £££ and $$$$ are rolling in.

Were you backstage at Download to witness Axl only using his special backstage area to place his jacket? Or do you have a reliable source?

In terms of being held back for 20 mins I don't recall that, seemed like the majority of the crowd dispersed fairly quickly when they finished or were you trying to get to a particular area where they held people back.

  4. Okay so no announcement of any tour dates other than confirmed Hyde Park show and a strongly rummored Glasto headline slot and some possible European dates if those come to fruition.

    Could they either have

1- An album to drop and then a tour to promote knowing ticket sales shouldn't be too much of a problem to shift or

2- The classic 5 will come back short term and head out for a few selected shows and also have this screened in cinemas live a bit like Coldplay done last year to have an even bigger audience and revenue?

It just feels really odd just having the one confirmed show at the moment. I've got my tickets so at least I know I get to see them one more time.

  5. It does seem very strange for it to be so quiet if there is a tour.

However if they are only going to be playing a selection of festival slots the onus for shifting tickets sits more with the festival promoter, and in most cases I'd imagine a large chunk of tickets are already sold. Glasto is done and dusted other than any resales in April.

Glasgow if it is on I'd guess a large majority have held their tickets in the hope it happens. Shouldn't need too much promotion to get the remaining tickets sold if it ends up being their only stand alone show.

As always we'll have to sit tight and wait. All too easy to speculate.

  6. I know that Axl said that he had tried to lift Lisa's spirits after the death of her son. However anyone know how far back their friendship goes? Just thinking about the link with Nicolas Cage. He was married to Lisa back in the early 2000's and is a huge Guns fan. Was at the Troubadour show 2016. Was that how the friendship could have developed or am I barking up the wrong tree? Could they have hung out as a trio. Just a thought.

  7. There's still good availability for the Hyde Park show which in most circumstances would have sold out by now. I guess some might still be pissed at what happened with Tottenham last year along with no notification on what's happening with Glasgow yet. Maybe they're just holding back to gauge interest before they announce more dates or if there are contract agreements on not announcing more dates until BST is sold out or a timed period since tickets went on sale. Indications from comments from their social media would d lead us to believe that they will continue to tour but not when. Guess we will have to wait and seeeeee

  8. Got my tickets at 10am this morning when they went of general sale. Just gone back on TM and they still show plenty of ticket options available.

Is this a cost of living/close to Christmas sign that people not willing to splash the cash or something else?  I didn't think I'd have much chance of getting tickets today but pleasantly surprised. Glad to be going for what might be the last time.

  9. Would love a Wembley show after the carnage of Tottenham this year. 10th is ideal as I have the week booked off work. Am seeing Coldplay "I know I know" on the 7th June in Cardiff.

I wonder if they would do a double again as is the normal for London shows. Japan seemed to go OK.

I'm with you on that one!

Parking doesn't cost £100's in London! for Tottenham I used "your parking space" and managed to get a spot for £5 which was a premier Inn car park that was about a 20 min walk from the stadium and gave me 24hrs parking. As long as you plan ahead you can make your money go far enough.

As for Glasto it would be great to see them headline. Generally the set is around 2hrs there, so they could have a real chance of making a setlist that would pack a punch for that duration.

I am hopeful of getting tickets with the chance of seeing them live again at one of the biggest festivals in the world. Download 18 was awesome you only had to see the sheer volume of people who turned up to watch to see they still have the appeal.

  11. Saw Axl/DC in London 2016. There were some hard core AC/DC fans that were bitching about Axl before the show started around me but after a few songs in were visably blown away at how good Axl was putting it down. It felt great to witness that endorsement from those who may have been sceptical.

Personally for me it was one of the greatest shows I've been to. Axl was on his A game and energised and that extended scream on LTBR into the solo was out of this world.

Once home and watching some of the Brian performances of the same tour it was like night and day.

Kudos to Axl for saving their tour and the financial hit they would have taken. Only wish Brian could bring himself to watch some of the footage to see just how good it was. Then again it would be like seeing your wife being taken care of by a better lover!

Sorry for continuing with the O/T, but I just remembered this:

Axl: How about we do a "happy birthday" for the Queen?

People in the crowd: Fuck no!

Axl apparently didn't hear that and continued undeterred

The bit missing from this video is where Axl joked at the end with us saying he didn't hear us singing along and something along the lines of losing our heads.

Bit gutted it was called off. Understand it though. Seen guns enough times so not to upset though my mates are fucking gutted as their first time! Solved that by going on the piss at 1 as soon as we hit Glasgow. Hotels etc wouldn't refund so might aswell make the most of it. Met a few guns fans in bars and alot of bars been playing guns also. Sorry for all those who aint seen the band before. Hope you's get the chance to see them again. I'm steaming drunk. Don't post much here but love this place. Reading all your posts helps my mental health as good banter. Take care all 🤘🏻

Have you started on the Buckfast yet? And change the lyrics singing along to Nightrain? We're on the Buckfast love that stuff, ready to crash and burn
