This song is just plain bad and no amount of mixing can fix that. Unfortunately, it looks like GnR have no creativity left. I find it hard to believe that we are going on almost eight years since they reunited and all they can do is rehash songs that were not good enough to release 16 years ago. I would have thought some new tunes would have been written and released by now. I hate to say it but it is getting time to retire.

I’m sure Axl was a complete asshole back then but bringing this up almost 35 years later is crazy and should be thrown out of court. There has to be some type of reasonable time limit or any idiot can sue a celebrity any time they feel like it. Courts are so full of useless law suits.

I missed being able hear this as they have all been taken down. Hope they actually release these soon. I still can’t believe how many years it’s been and yet we still are waiting for official releases of 20 year old songs. Not sure what caused yet another delay, but I hope this December date holds and they are available for download

Is the general going to be available if you don’t get the 7” vinyl?

I think it is really good and am enjoying listening to a new GnR tune finally. It’s not going to be a huge hit but it’s a solid song. Would have been better if it came out 15 years ago as it should have. Hopefully they will keep releasing and eventually get one more new album “soon” lol

TBH in the space of a year, he's become by the most approachable and keen to greet the fans and be kind of any of the band, by far! Has Beta changed his meds or something? It's really a beautiful thing...
That’s fantastic, congratulations. Heck of a wait but it was worth it.

I really hate most of the covers and wish they would stop doing them especially black hole Sun and Wichita lineman. They could cut the show some or replace with good GnR material.

I never liked the appetite version but the acoustic lies version became my favorite song

Just now, WendiRosei said:yourcrazy Hang about , You can't say that. A person is born with that. It is not something that just goes. How do you know what he is thinking?
Slash and Duff have continued to do side projects consistently. It is 100% clear that the issue lies with Axl. 30 years and one album is what Axl has accomplished. You’re right, I don’t know what he thinks, but it is very clear that making or at least releasing new music is not a priority of his. It’s been 7 years since I attended the opening night of NITLT show in Vegas. It’s hard to imagine that this reunion would not spark some creative output. If that wasn’t enough to do it, nothing will.

After all the issues and delays we finally got CD in 2008. I really thought this may spark a follow up as we have been promised by every one of the revolving band members. It is now 15 years after CD. So hard to believe they have wasted so many good years. I know this is a nostalgia act now, but it is so disappointing that Axl has no creativity left and no interest in creating.

I am a huge Elvis fan and had no idea Axl was friends with Lisa Marie. His speech and performance were classy and touching. RIP Lisa Marie Presley

It has happened before. Maybe Axl should stop doing this.
I love the mic throw. They should not stop doing this because every several years someone not paying attention gets hit.

You’re either too young to have remembered those years, or you have allowed the media narrative to rewrite history. GNR were not seen as “outdated” or “hair metal” when Illusions released. Grunge music didn’t put them out of business. Those records were a monstrous success. GNR were all over the airwaves in 1992. And they were on one of the biggest, longest, and most successful world tours.
People LOVED those music videos, btw. “November Rain” is iconic.
You can look back now and say you wish UYI had more of an AFD style in production. I sure do. ‘Cause it does sound like two records made in the early ‘90s vs. the raw sound of Appetite, which is timeless.
Look at Metallica’s trajectory and career peaks and valleys to see how GNR would have likely been viewed had they continued to put out music and remained active. GNR’s 1999 Chinese Democracy would have been grungier or more nu-metalish than what we ultimately ended up with. And people would have said they “sold out’ their classic sound to chase trends or whatever. Same with Metallica with Load and Reload.
TLDR: It wasn’t over for GNR in 1993. They went on hiatus and then broke up. Time didn’t pass them by when Axl was just 30 years old. What a load of garbage.
I completely agree. GnR never fit the hair band label and we’re still going strong. The only thing that killed them was themselves.

Good to see Axl showing up and doing things like this. Not bad sounding either. I definitely wouldn’t have expected this. The crowd had to love it

He used the word “soon” haha

Some days I really wonder why I keep checking this forum. I can’t understand how or why people get so worked up over someone’s opinion. As fans of GnR, a constant state of disappointment is pretty normal. We have had some cool things happen these last 5 years. Unfortunately it is also pretty evident that new music is nowhere close. If reworked silkworms is the best they can do and as Slash stated that no new music has been created, it’s pretty obvious what is going to happen in the future. With that said, we can also be happy to have had a successful tour, a couple new songs, a box set etc. Chill out and enjoy what we do have because at 60, there isn’t much time left.

I truly was excited to have them finally play a “new song”. Although I hate Absurd, Hard Skool is a decent track. I have the other leaks and only thought HS was worthy of releasing. I hope I’m wrong and that there is some great stuff in the works, but at this point I am not real hopeful. I was really hoping this reunion and reconnection with Slash and Duff would have really sparked some creative juices. For Slash to say they have wasted another 5 years and haven’t written anything new pretty much extinguished any hope of new music. Sure we may get a few CD leftovers, but this news makes me think there isn’t much left in the tank.

With the announcement of the 4 song ep being released does that mean the full album is still a ways out or not happening?

Releasing singles is definitely the way to go at this point. That’s what’s frustrating about past comments from Fernando that they were trying to figure out the best way. It’s easy today. You don’t need any record deals, Best Buy deals or any of that crap. Write a song, record it and release it. Sadly, no one is waiting in line at midnight to buy an album anymore. With that said, I do hope they release a full album and in contains some new songs recently written. It’s better late than never. I still want more, but I’m glad to finally see things going in the right direction.

It’s about time. This was my favorite from all the leaks. Song is good, way better than absurd. Now let’s hope they keep pushing toward this “new album”. Hopefully soon is the word 🤣

I’m a huge GnR fan and have always thought Axl was the star of the show as it’s almost impossible to replace a unique lead singer. However, it’s very apparent that slash is just as important. His playing and stage presence are unbelievable. As a duo or trio with Duff there is a uniqueness that just feels right. This is what should of happened many years ago. Slash has also now risen to mythical status and complements Axl perfectly.

That never stopped them before. We were at Rock on the Range in Columbus in 2014 and the stadium was more than half empty by the time the encore started because it was cold and rainy all day and he played over 3 hours. They did a full set at Louder Than Life in Louisville in 2019 as well. I'd expect the full show unless there's a hard curfew.
I was at that show. The band and Axl sounded great but they dragged it out way too long and people started leaving in droves. He had a really excited audience for a bit, but totally lost them with all the solos, covers and extended songs

I went to a 2002 show in Columbus. I was very disappointed with his voice. He was full Micky and we couldn’t believe what he looked and sounded like. Such a drastic change in a short amount of time. Even so, we were excited as it looked like they were finally going to release this album we’ve been teased with for years. Would of never guessed it would all derail and it would be another 6 years.

Overall it was a great show. Axl was in a great mood. He addressed the crowd more than any other time I have seen them and was very active onstage. He even looks like he has lost a few pounds. The set list change and lack of covers and endless solos really helped keep the flow and the mood going. He sounded better than I thought he was going to but there has been a noticeable drop off from 2017. Even so, it was still worth going as they still put on a hell of a show. I was able to take my 13 and 15 year olds with me and they loved it. Looking around the show, I saw lots of people with their kids. Cool to see the younger generation rocking. Memorable night.
