Awesome shadow. I think he still had it when he really pushes it but it’s just not possible for him to sound like that on a 3 hour show several times a week. All the more reason to focus on some studio time and stop touring for a while.
-
I just listened to nightrain and thought it sounded really good. Heard plenty of rasp and power. His voice will get better as they do a few more shows, it always does. They do need to stop the endless touring at some point though and release some new music.

The Mickey voice started in 2001. I remember seeing them in 2002 and couldn’t believe how bad he sounded. 2016 was pretty awesome though. I think he’s over using it with all the constan t touring and the AC/DC shows didn’t help. At this point, they should lay down some great studio tracks, releSe some new music and rest his voice some. They can follow up with a tour or two and retire. I really don’t want to see a 70 year old Axl destroying these classic songs. We could get another 10 decent years if they play there card right.

I just wish Axl would go back to worrying about creating and recording music. I am sick of celebrities liberal opinions who have no sense of reality to what the average worker has to deal with.

I never really liked this song and have always skipped over it. Dead horse and don’t damn me are kind of in the same category and in my opinion much better songs.

It’s encouraging that he is saying they would like to look into the possibility of new music. However, the media has really spun his words into false headlines. Let’s just hope Slash can motivate Axl. We know Slash likes to get things done While Axl likes to tinker with an idea for 10 years.

I really hope he is able to get Axl motivated. I really want new music

People get way too upset over stupid shit. Of course there is a lot of sexist songs and lyrics in GnR. This should come as no surprise to anyone who ever actually listened to any of the lyrics. They shouldn’t apologize or change anything. The don’t give a fuck attitude of this band is what made them so popular. You can still be a fan of the band or a song and not be sexist or racist. This shouldn’t be political but in today’s age it seems like everything is going that way. There’s a disconnect from reality. These songs should be taken with a grain of salt.

Last time Paul McCartney was on a show singing I had to turn it off. His voice was really weak and old sounding. I do applaud him for continuing to make music though. However, don’t think I want to hear a 76 year old Axl butchering Welcome to the Jungle. I do think they need to get some new material out over the next few years and eventually retire.

They should be able to work through things as grown adults. They are almost senior citizens at this point. In my opinion, new music is a must. I really hope they keep this thing rolling and give us some new tunes.

I'm out of town this weekend but Meltdown was asking me for all the details about the song on Friday, so I was assuming WRIF started playing it.
I've only heard it once. Later that day the DJ was talking about the new single and box set, then played knocking on heavens door. Really disappointed me.

I heard it the other day on wrif 101.1 in Detroit. I used to have an old demo cassette that had it on it. Pretty cool to hear something "new" on the radio.

I pre ordered the super deluxe edition. Would of loved the locked n loaded but $1000 is pretty ridiculous

I heard it yesterday on 101.1 wrif in Detroit.

I prefer his current vocals over the 01-02 vocals. I remember being at a concert in 2002 thinking what happened to his voice? I don't know what happenned in that era, but the look, the vibe and the sound was all off.

I know they have been coming on early, but what is everyone's feeling on when this will start? I am going and for the first time ever, worried they may start early and I don't want to miss anything. Last year I went to the first Vegas show and they didn't go on till late.

I love that song. Always one of my favorites off of the illusions. I will probably take heat for saying this, but there is actually too much rasp on it. His voice was taking a beating on that tour and it was really showing. I love rasp but I love the controlled in tune rasp that he usually has. I think Axl has way more control over his voice now. I hate the clean Mickey voice but If he wanted to, he could really do this song justice now.

Best paradise city I've heard in a long time.

Definitely an improvement. My Michelle sounded great. I hope Axl keeps putting the effort the songs deserve. Vegas is coming up. I am hoping for a great show.

I just got done watching a bunch of clips posted. Sounded like a great concert. Best I've heard Axl in a while. I am looking forward to Vegas again in November. Thanks everyone for posting some great footage.

Hard to say what's going on. I was blown away at how good he was last year after everyone thought he had lost it. I saw the twice in 2016 and his voice was perfect. I listened to the apollow gig several times and I can't believe how bad it was. There was some spots that were down right unlistenable. He even struggled in Jungle. I don't know if it is just fatigue after all this touring and he needs a break or has has done irreversible damage. By now I thought he would of had it back full strength. It's time to take a break and record. I really hope this isn't the end but the fact is that he doesn't have many good years left. This may be a good time to head into a studio and get some fricken new music out.

It's almost 9 ****in years since Chinese democracy. I can't believe we are still waiting for a follow up. Time is running out. GnR is hot again and people are asking for more. Now is the time!

Without question he is one of the most charismatic front men ever. With that being said, he acted completely different when I saw him with AC/DC. I was kind of surprised that he blatently kept behind Angus at almost all times. I think it was out of respect not only for Angus, but for Brian. Axl wasn't trying to steal the show. I think that's not an easy thing for him, but it shows that he can know his place and be respectful.
