  1. i wonder why gioin solo was never a serious option? it can't be only for the money, even Izzy in their worst days, after leaving GNR, confirmed that greed was not Axl's issues. his problem was "power greed". so maybe making it big with new guys as GNR was the matter of principle, he was desperatly trying to show Slash and Duff who is THE MAN. so in his mind he was doing it the hard way. but he probably couldn't imagine it's going to be that hard. and the feedback will be so negative.

  2. He is known in the musicians world as one of the biggest drama queens and attention whores there is. The fact he is trying to look like a 16 year old emo boy while he is in his 40s should ring a bell.

He has very good connections with the industry people that are in positions of power, which also had to do with the fact he was a loverboy for them during the 90s, hence the effortless exposure. Has nothing to do with his abilities or 'talent'.

Please tell us more. This is something new to me. But not surprising.

What do you want to know?
It's nothing new: the industry is filled with people who are where they are not because of talent but because they sucked a lot of dick, got fucked or provided someone to fuck, or because they are Jewish and the industry is mainly run by Jews and I am Jewish so no anti-semitism there, just fact. For instance, one known Jewish producer I work for will not work with non-Jewish session musicians, full stop. So he gets me and 5 other Jewish ones. Thal also got many jobs because he is Jewish.
Ashba used to be the guy that sucked/fucked powerful industry folks in the early/mid 90s, he is bisexual so no big deal for him. He got in the spotlight because of those connections, got his loyal fanbase and since then does his own thing, which is playing very average guitar that thousands on YouTube can easily surpass. But connections, branding and image is worth much more than authentic abilities. It has it's price. The figurative selling your soul to the devil thing.
The folks claiming this are credible people behind the scenes who would know and have no reason to make it up. They also said Axl used to prostitute himself in the mid 80s to industry folk, to get in the big league. Those same people claim the Beatles' manager Epstein and his industry buddies used to drop acid in John Lennon's and Paul McCartney's drinks and fuck them all night in a gay orgy then have naked girls (read prostitutes) laying in their bed when they woke up, so they would think they did it all night with the girls and they were hallucinating the cock/serpents in their face.
Irony being the rock world is being promoted as this very masculine hetero world with hot girls everywhere, while it is gayer than the pop/disco world could ever dream of being. Overcompensation at work.
What was the question again? Oh yeah.

I dont know about acid gay orgies, but i remember reading David Bowie's ex wife's book Backstage Passes: Life On the Wild Side with David Bowie and she confirms some gay stuff going on with Epstein and the Beatles. and Bowie himself never denied his bisexuality

  3. Thunder Road

"Show a little faith, there's magic in the night

You aint a beauty, but hey you're alright

Oh and that's alright with me"

That's the most beautiful compliment ever. You're ugly but I want sex so I don't care.

There's nothing about having sex there, Izzygirl. He doesn't even hold her hand until halfway in the song -

    "Oh-oh come take my hand

Riding out tonight to case the promised land"

i prefer Brilliant Disguise as a love song, i like how he sings it with Patti

  4. It's ironic to see Jovi haters on a Guns N' Roses board.

They had the same fans and pussy songs in their heyday.

Not really. Some fan overlap, sure. A few sensitive sort of ballads, but less cheese. Plus those songs were surrounded by full out hard rock songs on the rest of the album.

scom, patience, don't cry are a bit cheesy, but not nr and estranged - axl really suffered those songs and it shows

thought i really like everything about scom - the riff, the bridge, the lyrics, the vocals, the passion. and i take the worst gnr song over all bon jovi songs any day of the week

  5. i really enjoy that Evader track where Gotten is mixed with Catcher in the Rye. special thanks for taking away that annoying na-na-na part from the vocal track. And the video was amazing too, unfortunately i cant find it on youtube anymore.

  6. it's like we had sex, now get off my ass, i won't be your boyfriend, lets forever stay friends with benefits :) makes perfect sense

  7. Why is it a guilty pleasure?

well back then it WAS a guilty pleasure because noone of my cool schoolmates liked them, they were just "not cool", something like a boysband of the 80s.

And now i see them more as a business project, than a real rock band. Jon was trying too hard to get teenage girls like him. Songs seem to be well-calculated, some had drive and good melodies, but laked the edge, like real strong emotions, plus the cheesy lyrics. Im still talking about 80s stuff, for me all the albums after These Days are unbearably boring

  8. When I was a kid, about 4 years old or so, I was in line with my family to see Santa Claus at the mall. Jon Bon Jovi with his wife and kid were the people next in line. So I sorta spent an hour with Jon Bon Jovi once.

Cool! I liked their Slippery When Wet and New Jearsey albums when I was like 10 years old, but even then i knew it's a guilty pleasure :shades:

  9. ESI, Brownstone, One in a million - they're actually my favorite from pre-illusions period. they're not evil, just badass. that provocative edge made me love GNR in the first place. not even sure OP is not trolling. It's like if i enjoy gangster movies, where cool bad guys always get away with it - do i have to feel guilty? Hell no))

"Used to Love Her" - Slash used to say it's about a dog, Izzy used to say it was written as a joke after he heard on the radio some guy whining about a chick who treated him bad. Anyway I dont see how it could be offensive to anybody.
