  1. truth be told...

we are all exstatic to have them back in Axl/Slash/Duff line up, to see again Coma, Don't cry..., songs we thought we will never seen again being played for us.

in fact, given what Axl sounded in the past we are all positivly surprised.

but any UYI tour gig eats any of these gigs for breakfast! there was simply more soul in every version of those songs. You hade the feeling band was 'in the song' while playing it, while now it sounds like playing them as quickly as possible just to get down the setlist.

We need the KOHD, Civil war, DTTj jams...We need jamms in general. We need Matt on YCBM, we need the RIGHT PACE.

Axl swore in Izzy so many times only not to let him in the band again, WTF? If Izzy didn't want to be a part ok, but having Fartus over Izzy or at least Gilby is pathetic.. Having Matt watch Downtown abbey while Frank playing is - mad.

If they want to make another record, they need Izzy back. Not to mention that mythic Izzy album from 1996

Slash and Gilby had chemistry from the beginning.. Listen to the Double Talking Jive intros and stuff from back then, they were great.. Those acoustics sets and the jams before Paradise City and You're Crazy in 93.. They played great together.. Watching Slash play with this band makes it look he stepped back.. Watching him try to jam out on songs like KOHD, Rocket Queen and the end of KOHD is painful with the current band. He just can't find it's groove.. I just don't thing Slash and Fortus are cut from the same cloth and it shows.

    speaking of jamming...

That Slash n Izzy  Dead horse jam from Rock in Rio....Legendary, EPIC!

But yaah---UYI tour was full of jams, VR also had killer jams. seems like Fartus is the only guy on the planet Slash can't jam with.

  3. oh yes... Civil war too. Axl starts last verse way to early.

something obviously is wrong  with the sync of the band.

they had hundreds of hours of rehersals before going on stage and they all know every milisecond of every song by heart.

maybe they are just too different of musicians in style..

I called for Sorum/Izzy/Gilby line up so many times that ai won't repeat it.

But I will say this, Slash seemed a lot more relaxed and had a lot more stage interaction with Izzy and Gilby than he has with Fortus.

It seems that Fortus is just not his cup of tea and he would replace him rather today than tmw.

  4. I was actually going to open a thread when I see this topic already opened.

    This is just - bad.

At the times it sounded like cartoon. I finally found a working link, woke up, in Europe, with November rain and asked my wife WTF!?!?

They ALL seemed to struggle with pace and played over each other.

November rain, KOHD, Nightrain...It seemed like abandoned train on collision course.

I don't know what it is, but now after first three shows it seems very - plastic, to say the least.

Not much talking from the band, playing many songs, some reworked for the worse (KOHD), seems like something is missing.

I do hope they go back to UYI line up as quickly as possible.

Fortus and Frank = just bad fit.

During UYI era, I thought why plaing LALD and KOHD with so many great songs on UYI, now KOHD sounds just strange. Wish they would play it UYI era. It sounds to speed up, sort of reworked but no soul it used to have. It sounded big during UYI now sort of lost in translation.

And yes, Ferrer and Fortus, despite some ppl liking them, just don't match the current line up. Not physicaly, not musicaly, not in any way.

Matt, Gilby or Izzy shall be there by all means.

Oh wow! Yeah we've been reading a lot that he rehearsed with the band and hurt his back during them.. Good we got some confirmation finally. Was really worried.

Thanks again Marc! Here's hoping to a safe and speedy recovery!!

No they would both be involved

trust me, regarding all that talk about 2 or more drummers..It is either one or the other.   No band goes into extra costs.

  6. I said it before and I will say it again.

Izzy didn't want to be in the band anymore 1991, for reasons that were never secret.

obviously, now Izzy wants to be back - period.

Meaning, if Izzy is back, it won't be like many here suggest - a couple of songs a show.

it is either him or Fortus and Ferrer.

out of all Gunners Izzy/Gilby/Matt and Steve, Fortus and Ferrer are the least I want to see on stage.

  7. remember when Eddie Trunk first talked and Alan Niven said 'in 2 years...', well it was way before that, when was that 2013?

Matt posted UYI picture August 2014.

one thing nobody caught on that occured to me very long time, the lyric on Apocalyptic love - 'when your heroes talk to their enemies' and L came out 2012.

For all we know Slash and Axl maybe mend fences 4-5 years ago. After Duff first played with Axl, my guess within 6 months after that.

Wembley 91. Had this combined ticket: concert, bus, ferry. So I went with the bus from The Netherlands to Ostend in Belgium. Ferry to Dover - there was another bus waiting which brought us to London. Then Wembley. Then hotel. Next morning back the same way. I loved the show - I was blown away!! My first GnR concert and so many new songs.

Of course Izzy was still in, but I can't remember seeing him...smilie_girl_075-3.gif I was only focused on Axl, Slash and Duff...

Then I saw them 3 times in 92 ,and 4 times in 93 using the same options: combined bus/concert ticket. God, I so loved all those shows. Wish I could do it all over again... sigh. And yes, I was always front row at the railing.

Izzy was barely there - his last show.

i was extremely lucky to see them in San Francisco at the tiny Warfield theatre in early '91 i believe - definitely before UYI was released

this was a surprise show that was announced on the local rock station the night before and i think MTV picked up the news. tickets were only sold at the box office and the line wasn't allowed to start until 6am or something

anyway, remember the show being about half AFD material and the Illusion stuff was kinda mixed with the crowd. pretty sure they played Civil War and i know they played Live and Let Die and Heavens Door, crowd went nuts for those

Izzy has played with nuGNR for years, so the line-up not including all the original members has never been a major factor for him.

Steven has said he doesn't want full pay, and I expect him to still be involved in some way. As a guest at least.

There was always going to be an issue with Izzy and money. He's likely to not want to tour as a full member, but will he want to be paid as a full member, or close to. That is the question. He will want a sizeable bump on what he gets when he guests with nuGNR.

ok, but why else has he posted the lniks of bad GNR cover bands the day he posted the statement!?

Gotta read between the lines a bit and process the obvious.

when he played with Axl cover band, he played a few tracks with a cover band, this is different now with Slash, Duff, Axl.

Well see, that's the problem.  "They" have never called it a reunion. Not one thing directly from the band ever uses that term.

and you don't know the reason this isn't working is Bc "obviously...Axl wanted to hang on Ferrar".  So it isn't obvious it's your opinion or speculation.

    oh ok prophet!

thanks for clearing that up! can you give us the jackpot numbers too?

  12. as expected.

this sheds a new light about him posting links of terrible GNR cover bands.

obviously, Axl wanted to hang on on Ferrer and Izzy wanted thge line up with Steve or Matt, so now it is Ferrer and Fortus.

i would have preffered Izzy and Matt line up, then Gilby and Matt but definately not Fortus and Frank, this is some hybrid shit, eiter clean it up and go back to AFD or UYI line up or not do half hearted shit and call it reunion.
