What exactly are you calling a mistake can you pinpoint it so we can hear it? I listened to a few random songs and didn't notice anything in particular, I actually thought he sounded tighter than usual, with a better drum tone.

misshit/wrong fill, from the top of my head eg. last gig, Shadow of you love, first half - at least 2 occasions.

  2. I clicked on a random song from this show and noticed 3 mistakes from Frank.

every song I ever clicked that Frank played on had 2-3 mistakes.  now considering they have not changed this setlist sinc the Dino's walked the earth and frank the man played each song like gazzilion times - there is no absolute fuckin' doubt frank is pathetic and needs to take the hike.

I am a person who doesn't mind fills, missed chorus, verse, chords...I actually like when a band player adds or misses something that gives that song a live feeling, but frank just makes things sound worse.

I have all the shows that were ever available on the tracker '86-'93 and went through most, hardly any song was played identically twice, but it almost always sounded cool, now frank souns like 'where is Sorum'?

I'm not sure I understand your question.  Are you asking why isn't she at the soundboard?  I already explained that.

Most bands will have somebody off stage with a MacBook playing the backing tracks or have the drummer trigger them with a click track.  Guns n' Roses wants these parts played live.  That's why Melissa is up there.  How is this not clear?

you didn't get it. doesn't matter.  point is - Mel in not way whatsoever fits to be on that stage.  point closed.

Dizzy plays piano on songs like Estranged and Civil War?  I'm not sure i understand your question.  Like it or not whether or not Melissa was there or not it wouldn't change the sound of the band live because if she wasn't up on stage there would be somebody on the side of the stage with a pro tools rig and a MacBook doing the same thing.  You should respect that GNR actually has somebody on stage doing everything live.  I'm not sure what the issue is honestly.

As for whether the band sounded more full in 1992 is impossible for me to say since I wasn't at the Paris or Tokyo concert in 1992 and live clips on YouTube isn't enough for me to really make that judgement.

so Mel is a sound guy!?

why not out her at soundboard then?

So basically she is there to add layers of sound to the live show.  She might play along with the songs on her keyboard or trigger the electronics and synths depending on the song.

It isn't uncommon at all for bands to play to backing tracks today in music.  In fact more bands play with backing tracks than play purely live, especially in giant arena/stadium shows.  The difference is with GnR instead of playing to backing tracks they actually have somebody up on stage playing along to the songs to give them a much more layered and enhanced feel.

Long gone are the days where a guitarist plugs into a Marshall and that's what you get man.  I actually really respect that GnR puts somebody on stage to perform this shit live rather than running it through a protools rig from the side of the stage.

ok so she is basically being Dizzy?

I see in the video she doesn't do much but nod with her head and hit the tambourine.

    what does Dizzy do then?

Back in the day, Tracy hit the tambourine and sang too + they sounded a lot better and fuller eg, Paris '92, Buenos Aires '93, Tokyo '92...

Why are they going few steps back!?

Keep Dizzy, fire Mel (and Frank), get back Tracy and Robbie

The fact that they misspelled 'School' makes this less credible than it already was.

maybe a GNR tribute band from Germany tested a song for tmw gig in Indonesia

We all know this band. It pays to be sceptical. That said, it would be great if they played it. Atlas or Perhaps, too.

hell it would be great if they played anything they hadn't played for the past 3.5 yrs.  ...unless a cover, that is!

I still hold out hope each time a new leg kicks off that the set might be shook up a little.

Hope & GNR fan of 30 years don’t make sense, but it springs eternal in the breast of man allegedly 😂

I think part of Izzy myth is in the fact his view of Ax, setlist and everything around this revolving circus is pretty much like ours.

if we could drag him here, he would probably say shit like we do.

every time we think Ax has hit bottom, he proves us wrong.

he hits ground with Ashba/Bucketfood line up, gets Slash/Duff but keeps Frank and adds Mel.

how can he just never pull the right moves for the best of this band longterm is something I just fail to understand

The fact there is No show yet, and nothing to discuss isn’t helping. Maybe look closer to show time. At this point irrespective of where you look, you won’t find any show updates.

    Cause it hasn’t started.

By the time the show is over the thread will then have much more show updates.

cause the show will have happened.

he can scroll back 3.5 years.  Not much has changed.  Almost like a sequel to that movie with Bill Murray and that squirrel, racoon, skunk or whatever it was when he wakes up to same day over and over and over

This thread does appear to be negative but it’s really no one to blame besides Axl and the band. Little updates on new music, Axl’s first show back is always the roughest, very similar setlist to when this started 3.5 years ago. They have no one to blame for this besides themselves.

you will redefine that word when the new album comes out 2035 amidst Not in this lifetime tour, with Franks shining brilliance coming out from the speakers

Can't wait for Axl to introduce something they've "never played before" but are going to "give it a try," before they play a cover of some boomer shit like Gimme Shelter.

are you kidding?  it will probably be some shit that was huge in Indiana early 70's nobody has ever heard of outside of Lafayette

I just read the entire thread. Its 1% show discussion and 99% shitting on Axl and the band.  I will find my own updates

You welcome!  Btw., what makes you think that?
