  1. A couple of months ago BBF himself posted in his facebook that he couldn´t comment futher about his status. He said " I´ve been honoring a request..." .

How can we explain the sentence " I don´t understand why BBF continue to be evasive..." from the rep statement?

Well either BBF lie about the request or the rep. who made the statement was absolutely cluless about the existance of such a request

Perhaps the party that made the request he was/is honoring did not come from GN'R. Maybe one of his own promoters or managers who had/is arranging solo shows.

That's actually quite plausible. It fits in with whoever it was in GNR that said they had no idea why Bumblefoot felt he couldn't talk about his departure.

  2. Is it just me, or has (magisme) vanished? #Starstruck possibly? I know I am a big deal and all.

I just don't understand, all of the pointless posts... when I heed the call, he heeds the closet.

Oh man, he's likely posting a book and actually expects me to read it all. I hope someone will send me cliffs notes.

Ooooooooohhhhh. Sooooo many jokes about being busy, having things to do for work....

Actually, as many know, I'm a teacher on summer vacation, so I wasn't working, but sometimes I do life things-- I just try not to let it get in the way of my posting, which we all know is my true meal ticket.

Anyway, I'm in the middle of reading the thread. I want to see what everyone has said before I jump back in. How many of you dicks have bothered to read your fellow forum members' posts? Well, I'm reading every single one. That's why I'm better than you. magisme, better than everyone, man of the people.

Seriously, guys, I'm on page 19. How much more?

Better grab some coffee, it could take a while.?

Just kidding. Your almost caught up.

  3. perhaps taking a few lessons when he was a kid.

always thought he had piano lessons...

I remember an interview he did years ago in which he said he was mostly self taught. I'll see if I can find it.

I found this in the Rolling Stone interview:

I've been playing piano my whole life. I took lessons, but I only really played my lesson on the day of the lesson. All week long, I'd sit down at the piano and just make up stuff. To this day, I still can't really play other people's songs, only my own. I haven't had a piano for years. I couldn't afford one. I couldn't figure out where I was sleeping at night, let alone try to have a place for a piano. So I had to put it aside and have the dream that I'd get into it. Now I really want to bring the piano out.

It's not the interview I was thinking of, but it seems he did take lessons (albeit briefly) ?

  4. If you haven't already, check out the "Live at Sin-e" album. Just Jeff and his guitar, but somehow he just seemed to fill the room. Its the only way I can think of describing it. Lots of awesome covers on there as well as renditions of songs from Grace.

  5. And what about what the record comany and promoters want? They are the real owners of the circus. If Axl wants to do nothing, fine by me. But it is not the best way to end the journey

If they are the real owners of the circus then why there is no reunion?

Because Axl owns Guns N' Roses name and he does with it whatever he pleases, even if that means burying his whole career into oblivion and disappearing from the face of earth.

Why all we got was one album in 20 years? Only because Axl is lazy? He might be lazy but the record company doesn´t seem angry with his laziness. The record company is not acting like they are desperate for a new album. As far as tours, all Axl has done in last 3 years was a Vegas residency and some S.A. shows, no full U.S. and European shows and no Japan and Australia either. It sounds like Axl is not a priority for promoters.

Axl owns the name but the name by itself is not selling enough albums nor tickets.

Slight factual error there. GN'R toured Australia in early 2013. That's within your 3 year timeframe.

Is this a shot at the hardcore fans? It ends with baby(ies), not sure though. Maybe I read it wrong.

    What does PSA mean?
Public Service Announcement. Basically take it as a public message to the die hard fans or babies. Depends how you read it. Sounds to me like they read something that upset them.
Thanks for that. I'm hopeless with these abbreviations. ?

It could just be something as simple as their social media guy throwing out some random lyrics to generate some activity, or it could be something with more meaning. Who would know with this band.

  7. (according to Canter, the Illusions are both double albums, lol).

Sry for ot: They are both double albums, aren't they?

Do you consider Chinese Democracy to be a double album? It's basically the same length as both Illusions.

Illusions were 75 minutes. So that would be two 37-minute long albums. At 37 minutes you are almost talking about an EP. Lies was 33 minutes.

CD was 71 minutes. So that's a double album as well.

Appetite was 54 minutes - so using Canter's logic, Appetite would actually be 1.5 albums. And if 37 minutes equals an album, then Lies wasn't an EP but a full length album as well.

That's what really blows me away about a lot of posters on the GnR forums. Their inability to just discuss the facts without trying to twist everything to make Axl look good. The Illusions weren't double albums. Yes, they were longer than normal albums. That's the facts - no need to exaggerated anything.

Do you consider Exile on Main St. (67 Min.), Blonde on Blonde (73 Min.) or The Wall (82 Min.) to be double albums? I sure do and so do many others.

Really depends on the definition of a double album. Back then it was considered a double album, by todays standards (increased capacity) it could also be a single album.

They were regarded as a double album because they came on two LP's per album. I have seen them referred to as such many times over the years. (A little confusing for those of us from the compact disc generation)

  8. So, that song is out in 1981. Appetite was out in 1987. SCOM became a HUGE hit in what, 88? It's 2015 now. NOW he's wanting a lawsuit?

And the Police recorded Every Breath You Take in 1982.

    Lies

    Lies was released in 1988.

But really, if you never have, listen to EBYT and you'll hear SCOM in it.

Seriously? I know both songs well, and I don't hear any similarities. They share some chords, but in a different progression. Comparing the melodies doesn't fit either. I'm sorry, but I just don't get it. Where do you hear a similarity?
  9. First off....how can My Michelle be on a worst GnR song list..weird..I know it's just an opinion..but.....

Second off...I thought The Garden was about drugs...not death....am I off base here??

It is about drugs, I'm pretty sure. I remember Axl or Slash saying it in an interview a long time ago. I've never heard the "death" reference before. All open to interpretation, though I suppose.
