Can this be watched on a laptop? If so then how?
-
@Rockfuel - Could you release 'Don't let it bring you down' free to the fans seeing as you can't sell it. Should be able to give it away for free. Give back to the fans same way we have been buying the product multiple times.

Can someone confirm? If you order the soundtrack version, do you get an mp3 download of the concert?
-
Down at the moment for renovations

This is the same guy who ripped the Paris 92 blu ray so it's definitely in good hands here
And guys he's doing this for non profit so shut the fuck up
This would be a great first upload to the new and improved Gnr tracker

I'll buy the blu ray but I'll definitely be downloading the audio illegally since there is no audio cd option.
I don't see why I should have to pay for the audio of a concert that I've already bought
The smashing pumpkins release included an audio cd and it was promised to us so I've done as much as I can.
Also as stated earlier it is not illegal to make an audio back up of a blu ray/DVD that you've purchased

Great review from ozzstone over at cd.com
Thought I'd throw in a quick review while it's still fresh.
Just saw it in theaters. The theater had a whopping 7 people in it (myself and my friend included). No big deal for me, I like less people in movie theaters.
The 3D aspect of the show was awesome! Very well done. The film seems to be intended for 3D, not sure how it will look on a regular screen yet. Lots of Bumble and Ashba putting the headstock of the guitar straight into the camera and flicking guitar picks at it. Plus, unlike the London o2 concert, they actually show the guitarist who is playing the solo, which was awesome.
The version being shown in theaters is incomplete, however. It was missing songs that were listed on the DVDs track listing. Not a huge deal, I'll wait for the DVD for those.
The songs missing were:
Better
Motivation
Catcher In The Rye
Street of Dreams
Objectify *this one bummed me out because I'm a huge Bumblefoot fan...and because Ashba/Fortus/Dizzy's solos were shown*
The Seeker
It wasn't Axl's best vocal performance. Nothing major to complain about though. I like that there were no vocal overdubs to perfect it. Makes it much more raw and it's rare to find that in modern day concert films.
My only real gripe with the film was the audio mix. During Dizzy's solo, for example, once the rest of the band started jamming "No Quarter" with him, you couldn't hear the piano. It's possible that it was just the theater's sound system and it will sound better on the disc. Also, there was definitely a strong limiter/filter on Frank's snare drum. So when he would do rolls (especially in 'Estranged' and the intro to 'Rocket Queen') you would only hear certain hits, some off time, due to the threshold of the filter. I work in a recording studio, so I noticed it immediately, but it probably won't be noticed by everyone.
All in all, it was really cool! Excellent to see on the big screen. Well worth going to check it out. I can't wait for the DVD version to see it in its entirety! That explains some of the sound issues people are talking about

Not having watched Dark Water is a sin.
I'm sure Ashba has seen it
Was the american remake good?
-
I was at this show and Axl was in fine voice for it and I was at the recent residency where he was better too but this was still a good night for Axl
-
A pro shot is very cool. But we seen the edited version a million times. Call me when it's the WHOLE thing.
Stop being a dick, seeing this in top quality with uncensored audio is amazing.
This show should have been released with Appetite on a deluxe edition of the album, that will never happen and this is the closest we will (more than likely) ever get to an official quality version of the show

Yes, there are a lot of 3d blurays find this way, but in all honesty what id consider a "reference" quality bluray would be on a single 50gb bluray for each, one for 3d and one for bluray. Just my opinion though.
Awesome! Are a lot of 3d blu rays this way?Let me get this straight. The 3d comes with two blu rays discs? Or one? One 3d blu ray, and one 2d blue ray?
One blu-ray. 3D/2D on the same disc. 3D will only work in a 3D blu-ray player, but the 2D will work on any blu-ray player.
Yeah, the correct way would have been to have a 2 disc blu ray set but to save on cost it was compressed to one disc

Rockfuel...are Chinese songs cut from the theaters? I have been asking.
Better, Street of Dream, Catcher, The Seeker, Don't let it bring you down are all cut
But it does include the Fortus solo and Dj solo

I think it's ridiculously funny judging an audiio performace YCBM from someone who shot a clip from a phone muffled/distorted and posted it...perhaps you should listen to the actual perfectly mixed stereo/5.1 version before making a judgement. geez
Its more of judging Axl's voice than your mixing or recording. Based on the official previews I have heard, you guys did a stellar job. YCBM happens to be one of Axl's weakest songs vocally now so its more of a compliment to the product when people say it wasn't that bad.
The previews all sound great, and I am very happy to have an official home video release of NuGNR, so thanks!
That YCBM clip is a shit quality phone recording and is no way to judge Axl's voice or anything else from the show

You can legally possess an audio copy of a video you own, why would anyone buy it twice so they can stream it on their phone? Way better to just download the files. No offense, but it's reasons like this that your industry is dying. If you for whatever reason don't want people downloading the tracks, you should offer an mp3 download when people purchase the performance the first time. People shouldn't have to pay twice.if you want the audio, the digital version with the "soundtrack" is what you can get without "stealing/ripping" the audio off somewhere that is not authorized. You can play the digital soundtrack on any device, ipod, home stereo, etc..so why talk about stealing it instead of a simple purchase
Great point

That's just the inserts for the DVD.
If you want a super fast delivery, order the digital version and you can watch it instantly in HD on 6/22
What you don't seem to understand is we want the actual physical product in our hands and at the best possible quality.
If you had pushed for the dvd + cd version you would see the amount of pre orders x2
Edit: it's now no2
So you note people want the best quality, then bitch about not having a DVD + CD combo? Lol the stream is better quality than a DVD. As for the audio, just wait for someone to rip it if it matters that much to do.
You may not realize it but Blu ray is higher quality than a video stream from an iphone app.
Clearly I was referring to the audio cd part, but if you want to go all technical then a lossless rip of the blu ray would be the best way to get the audio.
The fans want an official cd of this era's GNR playing live.
One that we can listen to on our cd player or rip onto an ipod, not something we can only listen to on an app and if we happen to have internet at the time.

Isn't the lack of vocals on the previews a bit suspicious?
Like who do Rockfuel think we're buying this product to hear?
Or are they ashamed of the singing?

Oh:
Funding Canceled Funding for this project was canceled by the project creator on June 5.PLAY -
Whatever happened with this?

See that is the point that IMHO a CD can never be long enough...give me everything that was recorded and there is a better chance I will find songs I like.............I dig Crazy Life, a lot, I would have preferred that to be on the main album as oppose to something like One Last Thrill.
I have to disagree, look at the latest Aerosmith album for example if that was 9 or 10 song long it would have done so much better
I'd rather quality than quantity with slash, I can barely get through AL without turning it off, Myles voice can get a bit much after a while

So the interviews and solo's were added to the blu ray just to compress the video a little bit more
No way should a show this long be available in 2D and 3D on the same blu ray disc not to mind with interviews (that are now totally out of date).
The lack of the audio cd is the real killer for me and I've noticed a lot of people are going to boycott the release because of it.
I'll still be buying just the blu ray but I was practically begging to part with my money just for the cd.
If it's a BD50 it should be doable. I have a feeling these guys know what they are doing.
Well it has to be but i'd imagine the 2d version alone would be 35 gigs uncompressed at this length of the show.
I have the Smashing pumpkins release and it definitely doesn't look as good as it should for a blu ray

It wouldn't, just be happy to get anything

Would have been cool if they recorded the No Trickery residency and made a compilation or something. I'm excited for this but wish the last three, or at least one of, the final No Trickery shows would have been recorded.
Yeah and wait another three years for it to come out
