  1. I heared all albums which be in the list, i like all, but my favourite is Saints of Los Angeles.

I like Nostradamus and Chinese Democracy but only okay, very experimental for me, y prefer more classic style, thats why are the weakest for me.

Black Ice is great, sounds ACDC typicall style, perfect hard rock and rock n roll, and Death Magnetic is the better Metallica album since Black Album.

  2. I think some people over rate the hell out of Chinese Democracy on here. It is neither that enjoyable as an album, nor that groundbreaking as an exercise in musical experimentation (adding a bunch of ‘beeps and farts’ to substandard rock fare does not make you, Aphex Twin). Equally, there is nothing that much more profound in a bunch of hokey self-obsessed love ballads, than Myles’ dull lyrical output. Neither of them are Roger Waters or Bobby Dylan here, let's face it? Also, for every dud on a Slash album - and I admit, there are many - there is at least an equivalent dud on Democracy - case in point, Scraped and Shacklers Revenge.

Shacklers Revenge >>>>> every song Slash has done 1996-2014.

Well, i dont like Shacklers Revenge, i prefer Anastasia, Dirty Little Thing, Set me free, Bad Rain....... and others CD songs like SOD or TIL.

  3. For me it's usually a case of quality over quantity as well, but I don't think CD is that good that it can "compete" with six albums that are all pretty enjoyable.

None of the Slash albums have had longevity of CD for me. But I still enjoy Slash new releases for a week or two.

CD doesn't have a lot if immediate tracks but they reveal themselves slowly with repeat listens. Even the rockers are tougher and more gritty so more its perfect. Axl meets the 90s. Simple genius.

I don't really like the mash ups as the lyrics and tone don't fit the music.

The problem is CD doesn't have real rockers

CD doesn't have memorable riffs (maybe CD intro, but that's all) (although contains some fucking great guitar solos)

They just aren't 80s hard rock rockers. They are great 90s Alt rock rockers. I mean Shacklers is the most rocking Korn song of all time. Chi dem is an ass kicking Nirvana style song.

I agree 80s hard rock are more ass kicking than 90s rockers really. Less swagger to the 90s stuff. Them Bones, Rusty Cage, Got the Life, On a Plain don't really compare to Welcome to the Jungle. It's a different thing.

I just wouldn't expect something hard rock from Finck or Bucket. So once you forget about that idea it's easier to appreciate CD on its own terms.

I would expect hard rock thrills from a Dj n Axl song. I'm expecting a Saints of the Jungle.

    Im according with you.

The "problem" is that CD is a 90 album in 2008, yeah sounds like Korn or NIN or other alternative bands, the CD perfect year was 1998.

And all the hard rock bands failed when change the style, for example Motley Crue, Skid Row, Cindirella... difficult to GnR success.

In 2004-2005 all hard rock bands reunite and playing hard rock (modern or old) again and its succes, for example Kiss, ACDC, Aerosmith or Scorpions.

  4. I think Axl needs a good guitar for writte songs, i explain that.

Madagascar or SOD are good songs, okay, but where are riffs? guitar are rhythmics!

Axl needs a good riffs and he can write lyrics and vocal melodies, for example PC or SCOM, Slash write the guitar riff and Axl create the vocal melodies thats why i think that current guitarrist can create different riffs, for example Bumble more alternative, Ashba more commercials and Fortus more classics.

  5. I'm guessing Illusions sounding material with a bit of Bumbles unique sound that sneaks in and surprises you ... or atleast we can hope... I just hope there's none of DJ's gothy, emo, dark, bland and simple influence. PLEASE GOD. :scared:

I think Ashba can write hard rock riffs like as BC or Sixx AM music, and i hope will see it.

Or good hard rock songs like Saints of Los Angeles, a excellent good hard rock album by Motley Crue which Ashba composed with Nikki Sixx.

I'm aware of his other work out of GN'R, I used to listen to BC a lot. Can't stand Sixx AM or Motley Crue. I just think all of that work is a little bland in comparison to GN'R. I just don't believe he has it in him to co write Shackler's II, or anything in the league of Estranged. :shrugs:

I hate Shacklers Revenge becasuse i hate industrial rock, Estranged is a a masterpiece, Axl can write songs like Estranged but the band has different styles of musicians:

    Bumblefoot - Alternative

    Fortus - all haha

    Stinson - Punk

Ashba - the only hard rock musician

    Pitman - Industrial

    Ferrer - ?

Thats why i have expectations for Ashba, he likes Hard Rock and i miss this style in GnR music, a new Appetite for Destruction will should be a worldwide superhit, i am sure.

Dj has 12 songs he wrote for GNR. I could see them becoming the new Snakepit.

I just think its a big risk for Axl to try to do hard rock without the old Guns. I'd be more inclined not to commit to one style. Put Saints of LA and MF of the Year on CD II. That's how Axl seemed to do things on CD anyway. Maybe Ron and Fortus would guide the next record more in that way anyway. Then you'll still have some Axl songs and Fortus will prob be the new Tobias.

But it's down to Dj to write the next Jungle.

its true, according to Ashba, he wrote songs with Axl, i think that its modern hard rock, Axl employed Ashba because he thinks that DJ can write good songs, DJ isnt virtuoso, and Axl needs virtuosos if he want a CDII, Sixx Am has hit radio singles, its possible Axl wants it, BBF is a virtuoso, perfect to create progressive, alternative or heavys songs, Ashba can write a simple single which will be commercial and mainstream.

In the mainstream is necessary hard rock, old or modern, because people like that and dont like complex albums, i think that CDII will be more varied than CD, i hope this album will has a songs like Saints of Los Angeles (its only a example), 2 or 3 songs! old sound gunner is impossible without Duff, Slash and Izzy but modern hard rock its possible, and classic rock, Going Down is a good classic rock song, i hope it will be in CD II.

  6. Chinese Democracy is the best album since the 1991 Use Your Illusion albums. There Was a Time, Catcher in the Rye, Better, Prostitute, Shackler's Revenge, and Street of Dreams make this an all around amazing album. Haters are gonna hate.

CD didnt have a hit single in tne mainstream, i m not a hater, is reality, started in number 3 in USA and 2 in UK, not bad numbers but a energy GnR album can get better sells.

I used SR as an example of straight up hard rock, it's a brilliant song, one of my favourites on CD. Axl can write these beautiful pieces of music but the band around him also need to chip in, and I just personally don't think DJ has what it takes.

Bumblefoot is definitely not alternative, he's progressive, who can play a wide range of different styles, with little effort.

Fortus has a straight up rock vibe.

Stinson.. you say punk which is correct, but listen to Going Down. Stinson leads that song, no way is that punk.

Ashba....... he can play. But too many fills and showing off with extended solo's and that awful tone!! I mean, he screws up Patience almost every gig. Cant even keep in time with that little medley bit in Civil War.

I'm not trying to bully or degrade Ashba, it's just my opinions.

Appetite has had its time. With the time and effort they have put bringing songs like Estranged, Civil War and Yesterdays back in to the set, I'm imagining they enjoy that vibe.

You like SR okay, i respect it ;) but i hear the song and it reminds me year 2000 when industrial was in the mainstream, Axl composed with Pitman some songs like Silkworms, i dont like industrial but okay it was the moment. Today is 2014, industrial isnt in mainstream, but Hard Rock bands play hard rock again, for example Van Halen, Dokken, Aerosmith, Scorpions.... hard rock with actual production, why not Guns N Roses?

I think that Going Down will be a hit single in the mainstream radio, it is melodic, is rocker, is simple.

I dont know who composed the song, Stinson sings, but its typical song of Izzy, Izzy composed with Axl...... but if it was a Stinson song its a very surprise for me, it is the song that i like for a GnR. SOD for example is type NR or Estranged, are cool but i miss songs with killer riffs like as My Michelle, Paradise City, Reckless Life or Dont damm me....

I dont know if Bumble can write gnr old sound songs like it, i hope he will can, but it isnt his style, and i think Ashba can write, BC has good hard rock riffs, with Axl and the band it will be a good GnR songs.
