  1. I believe Axl isn't concerned with the fans of today, who mock and ridicule him every step of the journey for getting old and "bloated".

List of years which brought a release of Guns Material

    -1986

    -1988

    -1990

    -1994

    -1996

    -1999

    -2003-2004 (hollywood rose, greatest hits)

    -2008

    -2014

*plus demo leaks, etc. We're also in a different age then was the 80's and '90's, now in an over-saturated market, long pauses between releases make an album release a bigger deal.

Traditionally, they have been a band shrouded in a reckless mystery. Axl Rose, the Jekyl-Hyde type figure, toiling away in his mansion, tinkering with sound.

As far as interviews and appearances, those things would fall under the category of promotion. A little goes a long way in the way of mystery. It reinforces the idea of Axl Rose, this reclusive rock star, his legend will continue to grow long after we are gone from this earth. That's why it really doesn't matter when these songs are released, as long as they are released at some point.

  2. This band has been mysterious since the beginning. It's was a pretty good gap of time between Appetite and Illusions. 5 years? Granted you had the GnR lies album, but that was killing time for the follow up to Appetite. I'm not taking anything away from Lies. It's a classic. The spaghetti Incident was meant to be the same sort of thing. The point is, GnR makes a release every few years and it keeps the mystery going. Time is on Axl's side.

  3. My Dylan profile

I love slow train coming so much that I can't listen to it anymore. The song precious angel is my favorite.

Live at budokan was fun, reggae style hits. I used to listen to Nashville skyline, self portrait, budokan, slow train, modern times in rotation.

I love Brownsville girl, lots of fun to sing along with. First heard it in vinyl, happened to cone across it in my mother in-laws collection.

Love the songs, "one more cup of coffee" and "no time think"

Newer favorite would be long and wasted years

  4. Slash showed up for and wrote his scene but didn't care enough to participate in the making of the video? Doesn't know what the story is about? What was he doing during that time? This band was a joke from the beginning. They make Spinal Tap look like the Rolling Stones. Why have I spent so much time of my life obsessing over these clowns. I'm so mad at myself right now. The one guy who should care, Axl, doesn't seem to care. Why should I? Aaaaaarrrrrrggggghhhhh!

We care cos of the music, the legacy, the good times. This is not a religion, Those guys made some great music that will stand the test of time. Nothing really matters beyond that.

    You're right.

  6. So 55 pages in, we actually know no more than we did on page one, am I correct?

Are you some kind of a fucking hater? what is this? it's perfectly clear: Bumble is maybe still in the band. Sometimes he talks about his time in Guns in past tense when he gives interviews, but that is maybe just his sense of humor.

What bothers me with people like you is the amount of uncalled for complaints: what do you want the Guns camp to say? maybe there is nothing to say. Maybe it's all cool. Glass half full.

You know, personally, I prefer to guess and imagine what the current state of the "band" is. It's boring to always know who exactly is or isn't a part of new Gn'R. They're all a family anyway. Brain never left. He's still a part of the Guns family.

In conclusion: Bumble is Bumble. From his fucked up sense of commitment to the fans and interacting with them, giving fucks (who does that lol)

to his weird need to be a part of the writing process for the next album (the guy thinks he's Ashba or something lmao)

I just respect Axl and TB so much for putting up with people like Bumble. What? the money is not good enough? the fucker should just shut up and shred.

-It dont really matter, guess ill keep it to myself

Sometime I think the song Chinese Democracy was written for the fans.

It don't really matter, guess you'll find out for yourself

No, it don't really matter, so you can hear it now from somebody else.

You are absolutely right about the lack of respect for the fans Axl and management have shown. When they say they don't owe us anything, I think it's awful and abusive. I mean, their business is GnR. Who runs a business based on spite? I don't get it.

  8. Basic updates on a band's status should be made if there is an update to be made. We got a nice update at the end of the tour that they were taking,in my opinion, a well deserved and much needed break. Also, that there are two albums finished. With the rumors of bumble's departure, it would be nice to hear where they stand. But, maybe its just up in the air and there is nothing to report but uncertainty, or that they hope he'll join them again.

  11. Saw them in 2002 in Detroit

-Above show included the only North American performance of Riad so far

I was at that show too! Had GA tickets - think it was one of the few GA concerts of that tour. It was my first time seeing Axl perform live. A rather anticlimactic ending though.

Totally agree about the ending. I openly admit I was skeptical going in, but I was sold after the first few songs. We were in the lower bowl on the left side of the stage but thought the show was killer right up til about here:

What happened? Couldn't tell from the video. But, I would consider being there to see Axl leave early would be on any gnr bucket list (in a strange way)

  12. "if my intentions are misunderstood, please be kind, I've done all I should. I won't ask of you, what I would not do...oooh ooh...Why would they tell me to please those that laugh in my face when all of the reasons they've taught us fall over themselves to give way. It's not a question of whether my heart is true. What would you say if I told you that I'm to blame? Where would you go if I told you I love you and then walked away. I told you when I found you if there were doubts you should be careful and unafraid. Now they surround you and all that amounts to is love that you fed by perversion and pain. So if my affections are misunderstood and you decide I'm up to no good don't ask me to enjoy them just for you. Ask yourself why would I choose to prostitute myself to live with fortune and shame." -from the book of "prostitute"
