  1. The lyrics really don't bother me because they remind me of being a teenager and thinking the irreverence was so cool. I do have a problem listening to some of their songs around my kids, though. Most of the time I don't think they're paying attention to the lyrics, but today I was shown, once again, that I was wrong. My son said, "Hey! Axl's talking about lighting malotov cocktail! Cooooool!" At least I wasn't listening to "Anything Goes!"

  2. I often wonder what he is doing? We hear very little so we crave to hear just that bit more about him. Maybe it is obsessive but when you like someone so much what's the harm in knowing what they are doing? I want to know what time he goes to bed what he eats what's he wearing..haha. Yes I am a bit obsessed that's the effect axl has on most of us I'm sure.

I feel the same way sometimes. Mostly I just think about what he thinks about and how his mind works.

  3. I'm 38 and I feel like I'm still 17 in my head. My body feels my chronological age, though. I hate that my youth is over, that I can't still do the things I used to do, and that I'll never be the one that guys stare at, ever again. Other than that, I like my age. I like the freedom that comes with being older.

  4. I'll be dead won't I?

This will be your final statement.. your song choice!

    CITR.

Odd you bring this up.... my mom is terminally ill and nearing the end of her life. I was actually thinking about this yesterday.

I'm sorry to hear about your mom. My ex mother-in-law died recently and it was the funeral Monday. Been playing There Was a Time since then - a lot! Very cathartic.

I've insisted since high school that I want Kentucky Headhunter's version of Spirit in the Sky and G n' R's Yesterdays played at my funeral. I want people to grin, and think, "Yep, that's Trish, all right!"

Yesterdays is one of my very favourite songs.

    Me, too!

  5. Today there was a topic on reddit about bad concerts, and I knew GNR would be there. Check it out:

Stage burnt down? Riot? In 2006? We all know this guy is full of shit. And its not the first time Ive seen people lying their asses off on the internet about Axl and GNR. Ive seen it multiple times on reddit, and its always the same crap: "omg Axl shouted at all the fans and then he left in the middle of the concert blablabla".

Ive also seen it on other places such as music websites, Live Nation, Ticketmastet etc... People posting the most ridiculous, exaggerated reviews of whatever their experiences with GNR were.

And do you guys know why this happens? Because it's cool to hate Guns N' Roses. It's a phenomenom I have been noticing for a while. This guy on reddit, for example: he just knew that stuff like what he wrote would get him tons of upvotes, and karma (something valued by some loser reddit users, although this internet cred. gives you nothing).

Because of all the stuff Axl has done to harm the GNR name over the past years, GNR has basically zero street credit. I'd say it's negative, actually. So, most of the time, people who are more into rock music tend to bash GNR for the sake of it, because "you're an idiot who just got into rock if you like GNR". I've seen it happen multiple times. The guys who I live with in uni hated GNR and thought it was totally overrated, but after a little while living together they began to appreciate some of the material. I also have a friend who loves GNR, but multiple times I've seen him bash'em when talking to people who are into "more classic rock". It's cool to hate Guns N' Roses, and if you like'em people assume you know nothing about music. Which is really pathetic, really. I mean, seriously, if you like, let's say, Led Zeppelin and Rolling Stones and HATE GNR, there's something wrong, generally speaking. I've seen many people with this same speech. And I'm sorry, if you're into that kind of music it's just stupid to say they haven't done cool stuff. It's just to sound hipster, you know? The whole "Man, GNR is stuff people listen when they're getting into rock, they're no better than Poison and Crüe;"

People are usually very passionate about GNR, and I think this is one of the reasons it's cool to hate'em. I agree GNR is one of the most overrated bands of all times, but given a fair listen and attention, I haven't seen one person who likes rock that doesn't enjoy a thing or two from them. Nowadays with all the hipster/indie movement people don't even bother to check it out, for real. It's really annoying.

If it's cool to hate G n ' R, I'm very uncool. In fact, I'm gonna switch it up and make it cool to hate those that hate G n' R! ;)

  6. I can take a dump in a box, lock it in "the vault" for 20-30 years and it would be less repulsive when revealed than what Axl supposedly has locked away.

You know something the rest of us don't dude?? Don't bogart it man. Pass it over to me and everybody else here. I'd like to hear about it and also, where you got your inside poop about Axls stash. I, for one, have a feeling there's plenty of awesome music sitting there waiting to be dropped when it's the right time. Only reason why I think that way is exactly because Axl himself said he always saw CD as a double album with a 3rd release to finish off the movie playing in Axls head. Plus the stuff a heck of a lot of other guys on the inside and in the know have said including BBF saying he worked on a solo for "Atlas Shrugged" and never heard about the song again and also Mario Beltrami. There's just got to be some high quality gems in there somewhere. I just wish Axl would follow through on what he himself said about us getting an CD and then the next album dropping 3-4 years later, followed by the supposed 3rd album a couple or three years after that one to end the journey/movie/story/trilogy.

If you ever read this, please do this soon Axl.

Your most loyal and literally, die-hard, lifelong fans are dying to hear new music from you.

Plenty of us "little people not on a power-trip" still believe in your seriously gifted musical ear and talent dude...

That's the point. All i know is if i die before some of this get a release then i'll be a very very VERY angry ghost.

    Me too.

  7. Because he knows the questions he's going to be asked: New album coming soon? "Work still in progress". Tour? "Maybe" ("I don't know, that is Team Brazil work"). Reunion? "No, thank you". There's nothing new musically in the interviews Axl's been doing lately.

Yeah, I'm sure it does get tiresome to hear the same old shitty questions every time you're interviewed.
