  1. Rude letter? First I'm quoting McCartney. This is what he sent when The Beatles were inducted.
"After 20 years, the Beatles still have some business differences, which I had hoped would have been settled by now. Unfortunately, they haven’t been, so I would feel like a complete hypocrite waving and smiling with them at a fake reunion."
    That's it.
I'll just repost a few lines from Axl's letter:
"I feel we've been polite, courteous, and open to an amicable solution in our efforts to work something out. "
"The Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony doesn't appear to be somewhere I'm actually wanted or respected."
"I respectfully decline my induction as a member of Guns N' Roses to the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame."
"This letter is to help clarify things from my and my camp's perspective. Neither is meant to offend, attack or condemn. Though unfortunately I'm sure there will be those who take offense (God knows how long I'll have to contend with the fallout), I certainly don't intend to disappoint anyone, especially the fans, with this decision."
"For more than a decade and a half we've endured the double standards, the greed of this industry and the ever present seemingly limitless supply of wannabes and unscrupulous, irresponsible media types."
"I wish the Hall a great show, congratulations to all the other artists being inducted and to our fans we look forward to seeing you on tour!!"

The letter is better than anything Axl would have said standing there, and a lot more than McCartney said. Rod Stewart chastised Axl for the snub, but he wound up being a no-show as well!!

He also said he was honored more than once for GNR to be considered. HBO still televised the songs that he co-wrote and he could have blocked them. The backlash on here was pretty minimal, we were hoping they'd all show up even if they weren't going to play. Maybe Paradise City would have been the closing song had Axl and Izzy shown up willing to do it. There's still a lot of people he and many others are still pissed off that they're not in the Rock Hall.

Well said. I didn't think it was rude, either.

  2. Alright, I was driving down the road today, listening to Guns n' Roses like always, and had a cool thought. What would the members of G n' R see themselves as if they weren't musicians? Even further, where do they see themselves in an alternate universe? So, my question is this: what does everyone think that any past or present member of G n' R would be in a different life? I'll start.

Axl: A Psychology, Ethics, or Philosophy professor, married with several kids and pets.

    Your turn!

Axl: probably a bum (if he hadn't become big as of his 20's in the music business with West Arkeen or with Izzy)

Slash. probably a guitarist for Poison, probably forgotten by this time (cause he waste his talent with Posion) and became a casual worker somewhere

Duff: if he becomes sober after his punk days, he would turn out to be a businessman or a band manager, otherwise he would die from being an alcoholic

Izzy: selling heroin, getting busted and turned out to be a causal worker (or getting success with Axl)

Steven. he would die in the 80's, because of heroin addiction

    Dizzy: nobody, probably a bum

Gilby: session musician, small solo career (like himself now, but without the "ex-GNR member title)

Matt: session musician, then probably get back with the Cult for making nostalgia money or idk

Finck: probably playing with more alternative bands, playing more with NIN

Stinson. reunite with thee Replacement or die from being an alcholic

Josh Freese: exactly like himself now (being a session drummer etc.)

Buckethead: probably like himself now, releasing a shit ton of music

Brain: playwing more with big bands, then studio musician, collaborating more with Bucket i guess

Ron Thal: guitar nerd, session musician

DJ Ashba: he would probably sell less SWAG, other than this, he is just like himself now (a douche poser)

Pitman. probably being a DJ somewhere and OD'd on a hotel by this time

    Frank Ferrer: session musician

Richard Fortus: probably reunite with his former band at some point, otherwise a great session musician

    Very well thought out!

  3. Nothing

    Exactly this.

I truly believe that if Axl somehow ended up locked in a room with Slash, he would completely ignore Slash until he either died or was let out.

    This.

And if by some miracle they actually did talk, I don't think it would lead to their working together again. They've both kinda made it clear that they're not interested in doing that.

    I agree, completely.

  4. Now that is funny!! I think you might be spot-on with a few of those!! :)

yeah lol, its pretty hard to imagine what steven could do, I wrote barber, but really I dont know if he can be a barber or not lol, I remember watching Matt during the illusions tour and he was chubby that time and he had curly hair, so that time i was like man this guy looks like a Butcher lol

You just made me literally laugh out loud with the butcher reasoning. Now that I think about it, I'd have to say you're probably right. Maybe Steven could be a dental model since he's got such a big smile. LOL

  6. I know I felt that way after opening those albums! :)

I want to feel that way again right now.

brb - heading to Dollar Tree

I do, too! I would be so happy if something new were released. I'm not getting my hopes up, though. I don't wanna be disappointed. It sure would be an awesome surprise!

I wont even call it a surprise, it should have come out a long time ago, so if they release this year or in 2020, it wont surprise me

I get that. I think I can call it a surprise for myself because I never truly expect another G n' R release of original music. I can see re-releases of old stuff, but not the new. That's how I'd be surprised. Pleasantly surprised, I might add!! :D
