IS the superbowls big enough to open GNR reunion tour?
No, not now.... NFL is pro wrestling, is GnR reunion Cyndi Lauper'ish? WHO plays Lou Albino?
-
"The internet is the big garbage can..."
Duff does have a new song called KILL THE INTERNET with a line about "rock forums" on his new EP..... good song...

Who says it's all up to Axl?
Izzy might be down to jump up on stage with these guys every once in a while, but he doesn't strike me as someone that would want to be a part of the level of attention that a reunion would bring. I know he's said he'd do it at one point, but would he really?
Not saying it won't happen someday, but I suspect Axl isn't the only remaining roadblock in the mix.
Good point. But does izzy really matter for a reunion? The answer for true fans is yes, but for the general public it's a hell no. They wouldn't make any less money if izzy wasn't there. Only thing that matters is Axl and slash
There is no GnR "reunion" without Izzy.... Dont kid youself...
I dont buy a ticket if Izzy isnt there.... Period....

I would love to see this more than anything in Rock n' Roll.. It would be an absolute dream come true.. The music would be tight as hell for sure. I know Axl has been struggling but hopefully he would take this seriously and give it 110%. Go out on a fucking mission.. Maybe go see a vocal coach as someone mentioned and get into shape. I am guessing that could really help. Duff could always help him with that as well.. He doesn't have to be 1988 Axl but as long as the effort is there who cares.. I think Axl could get away with using his lower voice more in songs where he usually doesn't and it would still sound great.
There are other ways to help Axl out too. They could incorporate the extended Rocket Queen into the set.. Have Izzy sing a couple of songs like Dust N' Bones and Double Talkin Jive.. They could do an extended intro and outro for DTJ. An extended KOHD jam...
I would really hope Izzy would be part of this... Steven as well although I have a feeling they would snub him. I would say, at least give the guy a chance to prove himself.
As for playing CD or Slash songs.. My first reaction was no but it could actually work. It might actually be a really healthy thing to do for Axl and Slash's relationship.. Nothing crazy just a song by each.. I'd say Slither or Anastasia and CD, Madagascar or The Blues off CD... I think Anastasia would sound good in Axl's lower voice..
As for recording new music.. I would say just shoot for a 4 or 5 song EP.. Maybe re-record one of the above mentioned songs from Slash and CD.. Maybe pull out an old song that was never released.. Maybe present Axl with the album that Slash, Izzy and Duff wrote before VR and have him pick his favorite 2 songs to work with..
It could look something like
Shadow Of Your Love
New song
New song
Slither
Chinese Democracy
Well, this is all very exciting to me.. I gotta tell you...
I would love to see them play the entire Appetite album as well.. Something like this! \m/
New Song
Nice Boys/Reckless Life
You Could Be Mine
Don't Cry
Knockin on Heavens Door
Double Talkin Jive (Extended intro/outro)
November Rain
Chinese Democracy
Slither
Patience
My Michelle
Think About You
Sweet Child O Mine
You're Crazy
Anything Goes
Rocket Queen (Extended Solo)
Dust N' Bones
Jungle
It's So Easy
NIghtrain
Out Ta Get me
Brownstone
Paradise City
No remakes... all original new material.... Izzy has more than enough ideas for them to work up a new release

Izzy has the new GnR album written, and he would tour... Watch... drugs gone, Izzy is in...

McKagan penned the track as a sort of "theme song" for the book. But it really took shape after he sent the main riff and vocal line to Stradlin, with whom he has recorded fairly consistently since the guitarist's departure from GN'R in 1991 to lead a more private life. "His guitar playing is so fucking good," the bassist says. "Not that it surprises me, but it's like, 'Oh dude, you've been playing a lot of fucking guitar. What are you doing out there?' He's got a little creative zone out where he lives, and I think he probably sinks himself into that. It's cooler than cool."
McKagan says he's also jealous sometimes of Stradlin's independent lifestyle. "I write books, I write columns, I'm pretty public, and, of course you can write and still remain private, but he is really just off the grid," the bassist says. "His comfort zone is off the grid. He doesn't do any press, he doesn't have a publicist, and he just puts out a record every couple of years on iTunes. He's pretty pure."
Stradlin's electric-guitar playing was instrumental in making the EP track "Kill the Internet" "like O.G. Orange County punk rock," according to McKagan, and its other song, "Punker," sound spontaneous. The musicians recorded the EP in Queens of the Stone Age's studio, a process the bassist called "mellow."

Slash originally wanted GN'R to be an one-guitar band. He didn't want Stradlin there.
We wouldnt be here today if that happened.... I will say it again... I am weary of "Slash"
They would be junkies, dead or in jail if there was no Izzy.

I guess the saying should really be

Too bad Slash can't lay some leads over it.
Please, no top hats... All that noodling over a good song is distracting....
I have grown weary of Slash...
Dont get me wrong, though, I want a reunion of the AFD and UYI gang....

I see no reason why Axl can't sing on a few of their tracks, esp if the old one isn't involved. It would be incredibly pathetic if Axl turns down a request to sing from these two. It's not like Axl has a reputation to protect anymore. Just look at what a fucking joke he's become.
Then that would sound like classic Gn'R without the all important Slash sound.
Like the original Guns?

Izzy
in THE JUNGLE
I love Izzy as much as the next GnR fan.
But if he was The Man - then why hasn't he been successful without Axl and Slash?
Depends on your definition of success I suppose
Izzy has no Twitter, no Facebook, no websites, no record label, last toured his solo stuff in 2000 (4 gigs in Japan only), and rarely does the whole press thing. I think his last interview was in 2006 for Tunecore?
Pretty sure Izzy would be more successful in terms of record sales if he did all of the above, but others have said on a few occassions that Izzy doesn't like the machine.
He's probably busy enjoying his life without the extra hassle all of the above would bring
I get all that. And I suppose the no touring thing would be a huge part of it.
But in today's world of technology, a great song is going to find an audience. People put crap on youtube and a week later it's gotten 5 million views.
Izzy has released numerous albums. If there was another SCOM or Jungle on them, music fans would discover it.
I'm not down playing the guy's talent at all. He was a key ingredient to why GnR once was the best rock band in the world.
I just wonder if some people go a little overboard when heaping maybe too much credit his way. Without Axl's voice and Slash's guitar work, then Izzy is who we have today. And without GnR.......do any of us on here know who Izzy is? With his lack of willingness to do any promotion at all, he's probably got a normal job and just plays in a band with his buddies. But Axl and Slash have both proved they can be successful without Izzy's help.
I respect your point of view though, thanks for the detailed intelligent ans
Izzy...nuff said...

I do not find Izzy's material bland at all... The first 2 ablums are great.... Like a Dog is overall the best collection and there are gems on every release.... Slashs stuff is bland and sounds like an egg beater gone wild.... CD is the AXL Rose Show... Duffs stuff is ok, I find most of his stuff bland...
Izzy Rules....

You do realize that music is ALL about personal preference - right?
You should just like what you like and not care what other people like or dislike.
That is there for some who sound like Izz is just watching TV.....
I do realize this... I also realize you could apply your comment to half the comments on this message board...
Have a great day!

Alot of the songs from Like a Dog were going to be Velvet Revolver if he was going to sing, SLASH wanted a diva....

Juju Hounds and 117 Degrees are good albums the rest is bland and mediocre tripe.
Like A Dog is nothing but rockers.... VERY hard rock guitar and great hooks....

Duff has emerged as a great guy and statesman, but make no mistake, there is only one Izzy.... Coolness, playing and writing, Izzy is at Duff's new recognized statesman level...
