Yahoo Music Interview - Sebastian Bach
February 1, 2017
Sebastian Bach remembers recording his album Angel Down (2007) with Axl Rose in a new interview with Yahoo Music while promoting his autobiography.
Sebastian: Axl Rose sings three songs on the record with me and the record company...they couldn't believe he was on there. They begged me to do two versions, one with him and one without him. I told them to go F themselves, this is my record. Because they couldn't believe that that could happen, that Axl could sing on the record. They thought they would get sued...Axl does what he wants to do, and he wanted to be on there. And I thank him for singing on my record, for sure, it sounds amazing.
This was his first appearance, on record for I don't know how many years, 15 years, something like that. I just asked Axl do you want to sing on my record, he goes, when, where, that was it. I know him and there's no big story to it he just came down there, it's in the book, I describe it. When he started singing EQ of his voice is a lot different than mine, and the engineers had to run over and re-do everything, he's just blowing stuff up [laughs]. It was a really great night.

From an interview with Deanna on "The Tony Tone Show":
Tony Loconsole: I was shocked at the fact that Guns N' Roses were able to get back together, specifically Axl Rose, and knowing his tendencies for being a little volatile. Did that catch you off guard, the fact that they were able to kind of put things aside and go on that massive tour that stretched into last year?
Deanna Adler: Steven really wasn't that involved with it. So I really don't know what they thought of, what was going on. Steven was happy, he was happy that he was able to play a few gigs with them. No, I don't know anything about them (GN'R) I haven't talked to them in 30 years.

From another interview with Deanna:
When we asked how Guns N’ Roses reacted to the tell all, she told us, “I haven’t heard any backlash from the bandmates. The book is really about a mothers unconditional love with her son. I didn’t attack them because I was never on the road with the boys. When they [Guns N’ Roses] signed with Geffen Records I really lost touch with my son Steven.”

From a new interview with Myles, audio at the link:
So where does all this leave Slash and the Conspirators? Kennedy tells us:
"That's a good question. I mean, the door's certainly open on my end. If it works out again in the future, I'm certainly up for it. I think that we'll just see how it plays out...I think it’s just one of those things. We still talk; We just talked the other day. We do a lot of texting and whatever. But there's no, I think because both of us are so busy right now with our other entities there's no definitive plans in place."

From another interview with Tommy:
Speaking of reunions, Guns N’ Roses had an even more hyped comeback in 2016. Stinson was also a member of that band as they famously struggled in the studio for years, working on what ended up as the infamous 2008 album Chinese Democracy. “There were a lot of variables with the record company,” Stinson says. “[Interscope chief] Jimmy Iovine really mucked up the works quite a bit in some ways. There’s a certain thing you have to have when you work with Axl, and I don’t think we ever had the right guy. [Producer] Sean Beavan was the closest, and most of the songs on that record pretty much started and ended up with what he did.”

A couple more quotes from this same interview:
Do you prefer just chilling out and touring without so much of the gear that comes with the huge Guns N’ Roses shows and Replacements reunion shows?
Tommy Stinson: I like all of it for different reasons. I’ll be honest with you, I am stoked about the Guns N’ Roses reunion. All those guys are my buddies, except I don’t really know Slash. I don’t think I’ve ever met him. But all those guys are my friends and I’m glad they’re out doing it but I’d be lying if I said I missed that gig.
You don’t feel like you’re missing out?
Tommy Stinson: I miss the people a whole lot and obviously you miss the fans and stuff like that. But where I’m at in life right now, that’s just a whole thing that…I’m not saying I’d never do it again but I’m kind of glad I moved on from that. It really was a lot and it really required, sadly, because of my circumstances with my ex-wife, to have to put a whole lot of crazy shit into play just to be able to do those tours towards the end, because I had this young daughter. I’m in a much better place. I’ve had some time to fuckin’ sort some shit out up here where my trajectory right now is way more manageable for the bandwidth that I have for it.

I've had a sudden thought. Do we know if Steven going to be playing at the show they are giving tickets to? 'Cause it'd be kind of weird if it was to a show that he wasn't participating in.
She says in the interview, a chance to win one of 100 drumsticks signed by Steven and tickets to a "future" Guns N' Roses concert.

Here is the link to the book at Monarch Publishing. It looks like you have to pre-order through them to be entered into the contest for signed drumsticks and possibly GN'R tickets.

It looks like this will be released after all these years...
Sweet Child of Mine: How I Lost My Son to Guns N' Roses
by Deanna Adler, Lawrence J. Spagnola
Available for Pre-Order. This item will be available on January 24, 2017
Sweet Child of Mine will be released on January 24th, 2017. All Pre-ordered books will ship out the week after the release date.
Guns N' Roses was quickly heralded as the greatest rock n roll band on the planet. During the late 80’s and 90’s the hedonistic rock gods Axl, Slash, Izzy, Steven and Duff scored sold out stadium concerts on the way to multi-platinum success. Appetite for Destruction still stands as the biggest selling debut album in rock history. During it all, original drummer Steven Adler stole hearts and headlines with his insane antics. But Steven was soon crippled by a tragic heroin addiction that led to him to being kicked out of the band he helped found.
At the center of this maelstrom stood Steven’s mother, Deanna Adler, the GNR-proclaimed “first fan” of the group. Deanna was there at the beginning in 1983, when school chums Steven and Slash were building their street cred on the Sunset Strip. Deanna witnessed it all but has never told her incredible story, until now.
In honest, direct prose, Deanna gives an unflinching account of her son Steven’s drug fueled ascent to becoming the co-founder of Guns N’ Roses, and his subsequent fall to drugs and alcohol. In one of the most brutally raw, revealing books written on substance abuse, Deanna delivers a powerful, inspirational message of hope to anyone dealing with opioid addition.
Excerpt from Sweet Child of Mine: My darkest fears exploded when I found Steven in the center of the bathroom floor, naked, his body bent at an impossible angle. He was soaked in a pool of blood and mucus. His face was smashed beyond recognition, his mouth and chin looked completely caved in.
I reached for my son and almost slipped on some pebbles strewn across the tile. Then I realized they were Steven’s teeth. I dropped to my knees, crying hysterically. I heard a groan, then… “ma.”
All customers who pre-order the book through our store will be entered into a contest to win a pair of drumsticks signed by Steven Adler. Contest ends January 23rd, 11:59 PM. Winners will be notified after the book releases.

I agree with Russ though, these recent Ashba interviews regarding Gn'R is clearly an attempt to advertise his shitty music and products, keeping his name on the public radar. He's so classless. Shut the fuck up about Gn'R already if you're so happy with your sixx am shit band.
He was asked about the GN'R reunion more than once in this interview. He answered. The reunion is much more interesting than what Sixx:A.M. is doing right now.

Willy Tyler of Billings MT 96.3 The Zone recently conducted an interview with DJ Ashba. I've transcribed some of the interview below:
Willy Tyler: You just kind of recently walked away from Guns N' Roses. That's gotta take a lot to walk away from GN'R?
DJ Ashba: Ha ha it does. Yeah man I had a blast man, I think over six years I don't know, around 6 years. Well over 300 shows with them. We had a lot of fun, there were a lot of laughs a lot of good times. It gets to a point where you start loosing yourself, or at least I do. I never got into the music business or started playing music for money so at some point you start going...wait a second. You know playing other people's songs, is really cool and it's fun especially if you were very inspired growing up as a kid to these songs. But after a while you -- I remember we did a modern vintage tour, it was like 19 shows -- the difference between playing stuff that you write and the notes that you hit that come from your heart, when you see them connect with the crowd. I can't tell you, there is no amount of money can buy that feeling. It just came down to following my heart. Getting myself back on track to where I knew I was suppose to be.
Willy Tyler: I kind of wondered when you were the touring guitarist during the Chinese Democracy, I don't know how many guitarists Axl had on that album. But you had to have been having to swing like 5 different styles?
DJ Ashba: Yeah, again, I'm happy I did it because it was an experience of a lifetime. I believe it really did make me a better guitar player. But it was tough. I'm not great at playing other people's styles. You know it really made me, I was playing quite a few different peoples styles. One song I'd be soloing to a Buckethead solo, the next one would be a Robin Finck solo. The next one would be Slash. It was tough because they all three have such different styles from each other. And there are three guitar players in the band. I wasn't used to so, you played 5 majors of a solo then the next guy would take off -- it was really broken up and was very unnatural feeling, you know, to play this stuff. At the same time it was an incredible challenge, I'm glad I did it.
Have you gone to see GN'R with Slash reunited yet?
DJ Ashba: I haven't, I can't wait I'd love to see it you know. I remember before the whole thing went down before it was public, Axl personally called me and really wanted me to a part of it. My whole thing was, you know, if he's coming back, that's his deal man. I couldn't be happier as a fan, I get the best of best worlds. Playing in the band I love and I get half of the band I used to love back which is kind of a win win. If Slash is back there is no reason I need to be there. I was just there trying to keep the music alive.

Melissa Reese: On the Road with Guns N’ Roses
November 11th 2016
Melissa Reese, the keyboardist for Guns N’ Roses, is on a global tour with the legendary rock band.
How did you get into scoring for film and video games?
I first got into it with my partner Bryan “Brain” Mantia. He was brought in as a co-producer on some of the tracks I was working on with another producer. He and I actually ended up hitting it off better than either of us did with the other producer and that’s where it started. We travelled to LA to record some demos for Sony, and from there the phone never stopped ringing.
How would you describe your songwriting process?
It depends if I’m working alone or collaboratively. It sounds funny, but by myself, my ideas usually come to me when I’m in the shower. There are times when I will purposefully take a shower just to get ideas flowing. I have a higher success rate in the shower than my car. I keep my phone in the bathroom with me in case inspiration strikes, and then I have to jump out and record the idea really fast so I don’t lose it. Then when I get out and dry off, I sit down and flesh the idea out.
When I’m working with a partner — Brain specifically — one of us will start something. Then we’ll do this routine where we’re constantly kicking each other out of the driver’s seat and adding our own layer onto what we’re doing. In that case, I handle all the melodic elements, and he handles the percussive side. I handle all the beautiful aspects, and he handles all the dark, gritty, vibey ones.
Can you tell us about your experiences on this historic reunion tour with Guns N’ Roses?
The fans are great. My bandmates are the coolest, most chill dudes ever. They’re like big brothers and mentors to me. For me, the most fun has been playing CenturyLink Field because I’m from Seattle and I’m a huge Seahawks fan, so I dressed up in crazy Seahawks gear. The crowd was totally lit!

Another one...
Memeburn, part of the Burn Media group of sites, has been sent takedown notices by legal representatives of iconic Guns ‘n Roses rocker, Axl Rose, and its local hosting provider Hetzner
The takedown notice appears to revolve around an article about an unflattering photo and subsequent memes mocking the singer’s weight. The meme included some notable taglines such as “Sweet Pie O’Mine” and “Welcome to the jungle, we’ve got tons of cake”.
“The publication of such multiple images in this instance is both unreasonable and excessive and, moreover, appears to be far from bona fide, insofar as publication — seemingly under the guise of ‘news’ — would actually appear to be nothing more than a thinly veiled attempt to publicly denigrate, intimidate and even harass AXLROSE® (sic) via the use of malicious, on-line communications, with falsehoods and other denigrations generally also accompanying these copyright images in the form of captions,” reads an excerpt of the takedown notice sent by Web Sheriff.
The legal team has also sent the takedown notice to Memeburn’s internet service provider, Hetzner, who has called on Memeburn to take down the offending images to “avoid suspension” of the website.

Sebastian Bach On Recording With Axl: The Record Company Begged Me To Do Two Versions, One With Him, One Without Him
in GUNS N' ROSES - DISCUSSION & NEWS
Posted · Edited by Funky.Monkey
He doesn't say the record label begged him not to have Axl on his album. He says they begged him to record two versions, one with Axl and one without.
The record company was so surprised Axl was appearing, they didn't really believe it. They also worried they would be sued if he appeared. That's what Sebastian says.
