  1. will G'n'R become the biggest band in the world again, after releasing "Chinese Democracy" and touring the world with the new material?

In the next few years... these are the bands that I think (outside of Guns N' Roses) that will be the biggest draws world-wide...

    1) Rolling Stones

    2) U2

    3) Metallica

    4) Iron Maiden

    5) AC/DC

    6) Pearl Jam

    7) Red Hot Chili Peppers

    8) Green Day

    9) Coldplay

    10) Smashing Pumpkins

you guys think its feasible for G'n'R to overcome the above adversity and gain the crown?

remember... to be the biggest band comes in two aspects... 1) to sell the most records & have the most media exposure 2) draw the biggest crowds

several of the above bands... such Rolling Stones, Maiden & AC/DC depend completely upon old material and are in essence grandeurized nostalgia acts today...

others... such as Pearl Jam & the Chili Peppers can no longer do much more than 1x platinum per new record...

I feel that Guns N' Roses ranks REAL high in terms of big bands that can STILL sell records as well as draw huge crowds even if they aren't #1 in ticket sales in itself.

As you say the Stones, AC/DC and Iron Maiden are nostalgia acts so can't really be top ten when none of them sell many NEW records. I think REM and Bon Jovi would have to be in there though based on record sales and live show numbers.

In answer to the question though i don't think Guns 'n' Roses will be top five now, but possibly top ten IF the new record is really good and Axl can still perform at a decent level. Time will tell.

yea... you're right about Bon Jovi... I updated it again.

  2. Iron Maiden as the #4 draw IN THE WORLD??

Get the fuck out of here with that.:lol::lol::lol::lol:

Oh, and the answer to this question is no. GNR's former level of popularity will never be approached again. That siad, they can still be successful. Just not as obscenely so.

yea... you're right... they don't do shit anymore in the U.S. ... but they are still humungous in Europe...

i moved them down to #6.

these are the bands that will sell the most records... or gain the most modern media exposure (popularity with the youth)...

    1) Green Day

    2) Coldplay

    3) U2

    4) Tool

    5) Bon Jovi

    6) Smashing Pumpkins

    10) Aerosmith

  4. I just went on Ticketmaster at 1:20PM to check if all shows were sold out as claimed...

    surely enough, may 12, 15, & 17 were.

however, I checked "1 ticket for May 14" at best available and was able to pull it up.

at about 1:25pm, may 14 was also sold out.

so... I don't think may 14 sold out until around 1:20PM EST.

  5. does anyone realize that a surprise LINEUP means a surprise SET group of individuals touring together this summer?

a lineup does not mean a 1-2 show surprise... that would qualify as being a "surprise guest" versus a "surprise lineup"

therefore, this lineup will NOT include brian may because I can't see him touring with G'n'R the entire summer as a member of the band.

  6. i sure as hell hope not.

if he's announced as the new guitarist, I will write an email to Dizzy in staunch disagreement with adding another freakshow (i dont care how good a player he is).

i will not have my favorite band - one with a certain image and reputation, be disreputed by another ridiculous addition.

im sure most of you agree on this.

um yeah... cuz bucket wasn't a freak show... and his image isn't so ... "gothish" as it used to be, he's fine. I'm all for him joining on board! rock3

    are you for real?

im not saying he's any more or less a freakshow than Buckethead... simply saying I don't want him in Guns N' Roses. Period.

at this point, unless the new guitarist is either Slash or someone that looks like a classic rock guitarist, I will not be in favor.

  8. you realize how funny this would all be?

it'd be like a family reunion only nobody knows one another...

we should all like wear nametags with our "screennames" on them.

the conversations would be similar to:

    "heyyyy, darknemus, whats up!?"

    "yo axlsgurl, how you been?"

should be entertaining if this works out...

    yeah could be fun

hold on ssiscool... you flying in from england to the NYC show???

'cause I'm planning on hittin' up this NYC show AND flying over to Donnington possibly

  10. what do you guys think is a realistic number of G'n'R fan board members who would sign up for this pre-sale list?

and, as a follow-up, on average, how many tickets per member?

i would estimate about 1000 members total and 2 per.

im not sure but those numbers scared me, heh, im shitting bricks right now, not like i wasnt before lol

yes... but I was saying in IN TOTAL. So, spread that out over two nights and you have about 1,000 tickets taken up per night by G'n'R board members.

    what do you guys think?
