Axl's performances were just incredible in 2009-2010.

Also since the reunion, Live Nation controls his behavior on-stage (zero diva hissy-fits and zero criminal behavior like inciting riots). Not real Axl.

The time when Axl incited riots passed a Long time ago. Since NuGNR there were never riots or similar things like "thanks to the lameass security I am going home". The most dangerous Thing was that the concert began 1-2 hours late in 2009. So no Connection to Livenation I assume.

I miss the days when people who called them"NuGNR" had to fuck off to the Pre-1994 section of the board.

Wow, that s the weirdest Thing I ever have read on this Forum. Everything NuGNR ever did was because GNR existed. They wouldn't have any song besides the CD Songs and would never had that Impact in the Music world without the "pre-1994" era.

OMG , I can t believe what you write? !! Pre 1994 era is the band that created ALL this Magic. This pre 94 era wrote sweet child o mine, Nightrain, November Rain, Out to Get me, and so on. You prefer the times when People like me had to fuck off to the pre-1994 section... that s too much... really:facepalm: :anger:

At the show I attended, people were estatic over Chinese Democracy (the song) as its a definite rock song without any frills and fits into the set quite nicely. People were applauding and screaming like crazy over both Axl and Slash in This I Love. The stadium audience does not hate CD songs.

Well I ve seen 3 Shows in Austria from NuGNR and nearly anybody was excited or whatever about the Songs, nearly nobody sang along...... Don t know which continent you have attended a concert, but in middle europe reception to CD Songs during a NUGNR concert was not that good.....

And for those who will ask "So why did you go to a Show where you wouldnt like 25% of the setlist?" Why: Because from 2006 to 2014 in Europe the only GNR Songs I could hear live were the ones performed by NuGNR with Axl and I saw them with 3 times live because I wanted to hear Axl s Voice! I enjoyed the concerts, only during the CD Songs I was a bit bored. I also saw Slash & MK in 2015 because I wanted to hear how GNR Songs Sound like if MK sings them. Personally I don t like his voice and stage presence at all. I  am a huge Axl Fan, but I am no CD fan.

I whole-heartedly disagree with you on this. Several former band members repeatedly stated they like the CD material, Slash included http://www.musicradar.com/news/guitars/slash-calls-guns-n-roses-chinese-democracy-a-great-statement-172820

My guess is they play CD songs because they just like to perform them live. ;)

Another question, do you really all go to concerts to hear the hits ? I mean, I already know the hits of the bands I want to see live and really care more about not so known stuff, some hidden jewel performed live is worth way more to me than all the hits in the world.... :D

No i dont want to hear only hits. But i just don t like the cd songs. I tried to force myself to like them but I have no connection to the songs. Thats why i don t like to hear to many of them. I tried several times to like cd , but it s impossible :shrugs:

You're a shining example of what's wrong with this place. Jesus..

    why? Nothing wrong with what Padme wrote. It s her opinion and it is legit;

Then I am also a shining example. The Point is not that paying Tribute once or twice is not a nice Thing to do.. the Point is we have so much GNR Songs that could have been played instead in Spain.

If one cannot express their own opinion the Forum is useless.

I didn't have EE for Slane (have for Prague), but I was first in to golden circle with regular ticket. I got front row, so everyone with EE should be able to get IT if they want. A few people were standing behind each other in the middle instead of a little bit on the side at front.

That said, in my opinion Slane was absolutely horrible organized and they certanly don't have respect for the fans. First, they let everyone with EE only into the left area of Golden circle. Second, everyone with A or nothing specified had to get into A (left side). It looked like they wanted to fill one before opening the other half. In my opinion this is very unfair to the fans at front in the queue, forcing into one side, while people coming much later could just walk up to thw front on the right side.

As I didn't have EE for this show I wanted to be sure I got in early. Therefore I got there 9 in the morning, just to be told the police had ordered NO queuing before 2pm. The guards sent us away and said we couldn't queue. Walked around, hang at a place for a while, and got back before 1pm just to se a huuuuge crowd queuing. It's so unfair! I was walking to the front to tell the guards what they told me earlier in the morning, and suddenly everybody moved as they prepared to let in. I managed somehow to get in the front of the queue (feeling bad about it, but honestly I was there early).

Just letting you know. Terrible arrangment, I'm almost about to send MCD a complaint about it. I was lucky, but other fans that were early might not have been.

i always queue from the morning, but now I'm happy I have the EE dor Prague! ?

I've Norwegian auto correct if you Wonder why some words might look weird?

thanks for sharing your experience. I think it will vary from City to City. There are different golden cirlces: in some cities only 1 General golden cirlce, in others divided in left and right. And how they let People in might differ also from place to place.. But it s cool that even without Early Entrance you managed to be front row.

Enjoy Prag EA, I will have EA in Vienna

You sound like you want them to make a setlist just for you.

On any single album or setlist, there will be always be at least one song you don't like. Know what, just skip it or do something else, idk, FB, SnapChat or go to the bar while it's playing. Or just stand there and listen, maybe they will play it in a way that will make the song better (like what Slash does with This I Love).

I think it's great they pay their respects to artists who influenced them. Also we get to hear a new take on a song. They don't have to do GNR only stuff.

Hi, don't we all want a setlist just for ourselves if we are honest? Everyone has his favourites...

Well usually I am front row during GNR concerts so I cannot go to the bar or do something else because I would loose my place in first row :-)

But you know what: it s only a minor Thing: in the end I am happy that they are back on stage again. I never thought it would happen. So not wanting them to Play so many "covers" is to be understood as minimal critizism.

So from last night you'd scratch Black Hole Sun and The Seeker? Or LALD, KOHD and Attitude too? The Godfather? It's a genuine question. GNR have always done covers either instrumental or not, half of Lies are covers. Just curious to know where you'd draw the line.

I would agree with you if they played a two hour set, but they play three hours. Plus many people there seem to enjoy the covers, and the band does too. So I see no harm in it.

I would draw the line here: no Seeker and no Black Hole Sun. Or Whole Lotta Rosie when they Play it.

Attitude is fine for me, because I wanna hear Duff singing.. and as Long as they don't perform "So Fine" which I would enjoy, I am super fine if they have Attitude in the set list.

I know that GNR has a lot of cover Songs, but they are on the Albums, I love Mama Kin, KOHD and so on, they are GNR Songs. But I dont Need the other Songs like the ACDC covers or Black Hole Sun.

So basically all the Songs that are on a GNR Album are no cover Songs in my eyes. The fact I don t like CD doesnt make it better for me if they Play 4 CD Songs plus 2-3 covers.

The godfather is an intro for Sweet Child so thats ok.

Some time ago I read on this forum someone didn't want new music from this line-up, now I'm reading someone wants the show to be shorter. My head is spinning here. Sorry, I can't take this seriously.

I didn t say that the Show shall be shorter; I said IF they have to include so many cover Songs that are not GNR Songs I would prefer a shorter Show. I am here to hear GNR not Songs from other bands. OK? I love the fact they Play 3 hours, but the 3 hours should be filled with GNR Songs no covers please.... so don't generalize please that I wanted a shorter Show.

  10. I dont know WHY they play so much CD Songs live now. :max:

I also don't know if Duff and Slash like all those Songs or just 2 or 3 and somehow are forced to play more CD Songs than during the last leg of the tour....

but I know that I don't like more CD Songs than we already had. :anger: I love all GNR Albums with 2 exceptions: CD and Spaghetti Incident because thats not GNR for me. I dont want to bitch around the setlist, but CD didn t sell much copies, because neither normal fans liked the Album that much nor the GNR comunity liked it much. I bought CD - of course - but I like only Better and This is Love, I cannot listen and enjoy Songs like "If the world" or "Catcher in the Rye" . So I don t get the Point in playing them live to an audience if even min.50% of the die hards like me dont like CD Songs.

I would prefer more Songs from Lies, Appetite or UYI -nevermind - but not more CD Songs please. And no more cover Songs from other Bands. I prefer they Play 20 min. less than to hear 3 cover Songs like "The Seeker" or "Whole lotta Rosie"

  11. It is a nightmare for the parents of the Kids and all the others who lost their lives. Such an attack is so unfair! Assholes!

I do not want to Change my life and stay at home just because some assholes use concerts to kill as many People as possible!

I will attend 3 GNR Shows this summer and I only can pray and hope that no human being will destroy our lives. I have a small daughter but I dont want to let terrorists win over my leisure time. I am gonna go to all the concerts and just enjoy and hope everything will be fine.

I have no words however to describe how sorry I feel for Bataclan and Manchester victims

  12. Dj was ok , let s put it that way: with slash being not available the choice of dj was ok. He played in suitable way and his look besides the hat was special but cool. He should have left the hat at home ,it worsened the situation as slash look a like... he was very nice to the fans. I love the fact when musicians go down from the stage and let people touch them or when they walk through the first rows. Dj did that in vienna. I appreciated. He is not slash but was ok for his time in the band.
