This is a thing!? Isn't this only available for transexuals? Then again I guess Axl can buy whatever he wants

It's a thing, and is very useful if you don't want any five o'clock shadow too. Too me it's obvious he did it, cause it makes no sense even when people see him out in the middle of the night at gas stations we don't see a glimpse of any beard at all.

The one most transexuals use is electrolysis, which is much more invasive and permanent.

No they will receive a certificate.

Eligible recipients will receive an official certificate from the academy.

But everyone get's a certificate for these awards too, and maybe the envelope saying whos the winner. It would be quite lame to have an actual ceremony just to give them a certificate as if they were finishing high school. lol

He had facial hair for such a long time before the reunion started, and then when 2016 he abruptly stopped. Now he never even lets himself grow stubble anymore. Not even in his downtime.

It's not a big deal, but I do wonder why such a  strict change. He looked good with the mustache imo.

I think he got his beard removed with laser, it's not permanent tho, you have to keep doing it or it comes back, i do it too, cause mine is too itchy all the time.

is there actually posturing when it comes to Axl? idk. he seems to wear what he thinks is cool and appropriate for the occasion if it's on the stage, the look changes sometimes and off the stage he has a more casual look. it doesn't seem contrived to me, but what do I know.

He definitely was going for heavy nostalgia in his looks for most of the reunion years, but it feels like he found a better natural style again in the last few years.

Slash with the self-awareness of a potato just to keep his cartoon look. I would be very conflicted if i was there, Slash is ruining my view at the Oscars, but Slash is sitting in front of me at the Oscars!

I wonder if these days his hat already comes with a bit of hair to look a bit fuller and to have a stronger grip on his head using clips to tie everything together even when he is upside down or if he just wears his hat really really tight.

He worked with Micheal Jackson both before and after the children made their sexual abuse claims. But even before the 1993 lawsuit was filed, there were pervasive rumors about MJ that I personally remember clearly. We have multiple sources that confirm Axl objected to Slash's continued working relationship Jackson, and Slash implied it himself when defending his choice to appear with MJ after the child molestation allegations were made public.

ETA: Not trying to make any value judgements on who was right or wrong in this situation. Regardless of whether you believe MJ was innocent or guilty, it makes sense that Axl would be very uncomfortable with what MJ has been accused of, given the events of his childhood. It also makes equal sense why Slash would think Axl was being unreasonable. It's not unbelievable that it would have been a disagreement between them, even if not a major one.

The only other register we have of Axl saying anything at all about Michael Jackson, good or bad, is him ranking MJ as one of his favorites singers as a response to a Spin article in 2014.

It doesn`t seem like MJ was a relevant presence in Axl`s life in any way at all beyond being someone he listened on the radio, no personal connections or opinions at all. In the Space Ghost quote, doesn`t seem like he had any strong opinions about MJ on a personal level even back then.

Big thanks to all the fans and media for the props reacting to the Spin top vocalists article.

From what I could tell, the original article was for the most part only talking about the professionally recorded vocal range of the singers they compared calling the entire group “The World’s Greatest Singers.” It’s very flattering and humbling to be included in such an illustrious ensemble.

If I had to say who I thought the best singers were, I’d say first that I don’t know there’s a definitive answer as in my opinion it’s subjective, and second that my focus is primarily rock singers.

That said, I enjoy Freddie Mercury, Elvis Presley, Paul McCartney, Dan McCafferty, Janice Joplin, Michael Jackson, Elton John, Roger Daltrey, Don Henley, Jeff Lynne, Johnny Cash, Frank Sinatra, Jimmy Scott, Etta James, Fiona Apple, Chrissie Hynde, Stevie Wonder, James Brown and a ton of others (predominantly 70’s rock singers) and would rather hear ANY of them anytime rather than me!

    Peace!

  7. All i wanted to know. A full peak GnR in high resolution, this shit is gonna be a hit on youtube, people love to watch legendary shows in modern video quality, it's the best ''time machine'' we have in real life.

The bonus disc is a Blu-ray Video of the complete Live In New York concert film, newly transferred from 35mm film prints to 4K UHD and presented in 1080p 24fps HD, in its entirety, along with audio mixed in Dolby Atmos, Dolby TrueHD 5.1 surround, and PCM 48kHz 24-bit stereo. The Blu-ray menu features the brand-new live music video "You Could Be Mine." This is the first-time release of any complete audio and video concerts from the Use Your Illusion era GN'R.

U2 had the same stage set 10 years ago. It doesn't seem they're playing in small pubs nowadays :p

10 years ago U2 was doing their 360 tour.

Very different stage in the middle of the field so they could sell every seat and still is the biggest tour ever considering the least amount of shows, with the highest average attendance and adjusted gross.

Ed Sheeran played double the amount of shows to pretend his tour is the biggest ever, 255 vs 110, 34,496 vs  66,110 average attendance, pretty desperate and ridiculous.

But it is true GnR is playing the usual San Siro stadium setup, i think this pic is from U2 Vertigo tour, almost 20 years ago, so i don`t think GnR is having any trouble selling tickets. lol

    Some people love to overreact.

  9. So Axl sang the `Sweet Love of Mine` Part before the second solo with his natural tone and he couldn`t finish the final `Mine` scream high either so he gave up and ended low, i think in the first case he was trying to do a second voice to harmonize with Carrie. Would be cool if he tried to sing like that more, well, he will not have much of a choice by the end of the decade, i appreciate what we have every day, but he will need to completely change the way he sings if he wants to keep working.

Very interesting that there was still some level of animosity for Slash by the GNR camp in July 2015. It makes it more intriguing as to what Steven Tyler  said about the rift being more personal and deep.  If it was just music and/or business then they probably would have found a way to reconcile sooner. The only other that I can think of that could be deep and personal was Slash playing with Michael Jackson. Rumor was that Axl wasn't happy about that due to Michael Jackson allegedly molesting kids back in the day. Since Axl was sexually abused as a child that could be the personal reason.   Thank you for the additional information!

Nothing of this story seems to be true. Doubt he would still enjoy so much the music and voice of someone he thinks is a bad person and triggers his childhood traumas.

  11. Tune down the songs is the most realistic option, we can't turn back time and Axl can't handle these songs written for a guy in his 20s with a lot of energy and anger and nothing to lose.

And more slow, acoustic/semi-acoustic versions of as many songs as possible, would be a show a lot less energetic for GNR, but would be a very different more introspective and ''mature'' approach.

  12. If they're going to start a totally new tour design, i hope is on the same level of their contemporaries. The NITL stage inspired by the UYI tour was cool, even for me born ''kinda'' late to see that tour, but seeing a stage similar to the one from many videos was cool and nostalgic anyway. But we are now half a decade later, they need do something more modern and creative, even without new music.

I know people like to talk shit about screens, but i don't pay to see ants from a distance and i don't have money to pay for better more expensive seats. So bigger the screens=better. They just need to drop the ugly 3d animations and show the band.

  13. If they do, i hope they are more prepared this time. That VR RnR HOF performance lmao. Why Slash? Why would you play Ain't Talking About Love like that? Just Why?

Probably the easiest VH song, and the most iconic to me. So simple, so good.

But i think Axl would do a great job in that song, it's not a hard song to sing, you just need attitude, very similar to some AFD songs in that way.

  14. Universal last year partnered with Youtube to remaster all their music videos themselves, instead of wait for the artists to make any movement.

Some are just the SD tapes scanned in HD, just like happened with GNR videos some time ago.

Some are legit 4K scans of original film negatives. Other labels and artists started doing it too. Just search ''4k 80s music videos'', ''4k 90s music videos'' to see a lot of them.

And we know GnR do have some original negatives preserved, so i really hope we get something in the future. Unless GNR really wants to punish all the fanbase and will not let anyone remaster anything.

There are even some leaks happening now.

Imagine if something like this leaked from GNR...

Alternate cut of the A-HA video in 35mm.

  15. If only GnR was more like Metallica. Before the pandemic, we would get some nice songs from different shows all the time.

And now you get one full show every week.

But we will probably get an official upload of Tokyo 92 as if we coudn't already watch it on youtube on a thousand channels...

    I agree

I don't think Fernando/TB is going to have sole possession of the vault though. I think Slash and Duff may also have a say in what happens to the contents.

What about Axl's siblings? Woudn't be more plausible if in his will most things are left for them? And even if he doesn't have his siblings on his will, neither their children and his siblings aren't alive anymore.

Even with a will with everything left to TB, woudn't the children have some chance to legally fight for some of it?

  17. So they're going to tour a new album with Axl's voice totally tired and shot after 5 years of touring?

I dont even know if i would want new music like this, all the hype, nice studio vocals and then you see them live...

2016 was so long ago now, this tour should have ended in 17-18, so they could rest pretty well before touring again.

Makes no sense to tour so much, release a new album and go back on the road so fast. Dont want to imagine what Axl would sound like after like 8 years touring non stop.
