  1. So what if there are only few pages?

Setlist doesn't and will not change, it's the same song selection all the tour. Even fewer songs within SA leg.  It's highly unlikely that things will change a lot.

If something would change, an old song that was not played so far on tour, a new song, Izzy on stage, more Steven.. Yeah, that would create a buzz here.

But no new buzz is not a bad thing. Shows are great, GNR are back, people going are having a great time, everything is going steady, without issues and radical stuff.

I have no problem with this thread  consisting only from song videos, interaction gifs and pics :)

Too all of you going to the shows: have a blast.

And we should all enjoy it while it last :)

It's the "cool" thing to say that the original is better. While that's often the case, certainly not always. I'll bet you anything most of them rarely, if ever, listen to the Dylan version. While Dylan is an iconic and inspirational artist, KOHD isn't among his best work. His version is rather stale. IZZY's comments are spot on. Having said that, I do agree that the UYI album version isn't great. The live versions, especially early on, are the best.

It's a cool thing to say, especially since Dylan won a Noble prize. But that doesn't mean his version is better. KOHD was his average song, good, but not special in any way. A bit boring if I may say.

GNR made a whole new song, much better.

I get it if someone has made a good song, that  songwriting/music writing has a special value. But that doesn't mean that someone can't make a better interpretation of the song, or take it to a new, far better  level.

There are covers that are far better then originals:

I fought the law - Clash - Bobby Fuller cover

The man who sold the world - Nirvana - David Bowie cover

    Nothing compars 2U - Sinead - Prince's song

It's oh so quiet - Bjork - Betty Hutton cover

It's my life - No Doubt - Talk Talk cover

    ...

I could go on and on

    GNR's version is way better.

Not a Bob Dylan fan. He's too boring for me. lol

I love every cover GNR has done. They make those songs theirs in that special GNR way.:headbang:

Yep. they make splendid covers :)

Just the other day, I heard this song on the radio, and it got me thinking it would fit GNR to cover it:

The song has been covered a lot, I think gnr would bring the best out of it.

  4. Honestly, is there really anybody out there that thinks of Bob Dylan when somebody mentions KOHD? Dylan's fans excluded.
    Highly doubt it.

Most people connect KOHD with GNR, don't even know it's not their song, and think of this:

Not the best version for a hardcore GNR fans, but a very popular one, often argued as one of the best live performances ever. Even with the reggae :D

IMO, Bob's version is just good, GNR took it to a whole new level of greatness.

Right.  As if they can't find another guitar player (Gilby ?) in five seconds...

And the only thing he did that was anywhere near the level of GNR was Rihanna.  Trust me, he's not gonna get anything 'more major' than GNR ...  and he knows it !

And that goes to prove what?

Izzy, Gilby, Matt, Steven, Slash, Duff... all of them while out of GNR had nothing as (or more) "major" as GNR.

I think media always made Axl's and Slash's feud bigger than it really was.

Axl said that he's never ruled out a reunion.

Remember that time where Axl flat out said either Slash or him would have to die in order for a reunion to happen?

I've always felt it's the media making this feud bigger then it was. Axl and Slash were never BFF, they never will be, but they did get along most of the time, they didn't really hate each other.

Axl said some bad stuff about Slash (cancer, one of use will die before reunion happens,NITL...), but I think it was just a reaction. I think Axl felt betrayed by Slash, and he needed to protect new guys in the band, show them support, so every time someone asked him about Slash or he saw a Slash reference he would get nervous and overreact. He's known to do that :D

So I kinda believe him when he says reunion was always an option. Option that became real when the time and circumstances were right.
