Then why, if this is a collaborative project between the 'three', of which Izzy was merely 'invited' (I think that is the general area of your argument?), are they playing 'Patience', 'Double Talkin' Jive', 'Used To Love Her', 'You Could Be Mine', 'Brownstone', 'Don't Cry', 'My Michelle' and Sweet Child'? (in loose descending order reflecting Stradlin's importance to said songs)?

Cuz GNR  (not Izzy) owns rights tio this songs. And AFAIK, Izzy gets paid for songs he wrote or co-wrote.

Yep. Most people haven't a clue how the entertainment industry operates.

Izzy has pulled a party trick here: by airing the business side of things in public he has made the other three look like assholes and got the fans on his side to leverage a better deal - because it's nothing personal, it's business. I also think he feels left out that no one is talking about him which is why he opened his Twitter account.

    Spot on.

''Patience'' is more Stradlin - Rose's input is minimal

This is a very pro-Rosey forum I've always thought - especially with the reunion - but of the twelve songs listed, five of them are Stradlin which does not really prove your point considering there were four songwriters in the 1985 - 1991 band. Or to put it another way, 25% (Izzy) of the songwriters is contributing to 41.6% of the twelve songs.

    25% of 41%, that's not much :P

Not trying to be pro anybody here, I was just posting this as a fun fact.

Songwriting has nothing to do with NITL tour. If the tour was collabroate idea of Axl, Slash and Duff, and they offered Izzy to be a part of it, why would Izzy share profit? The tour was not his product.

A new album, that would be something else.

  4. Yeah, i know, most of the songs collaborative effort, so Izzy can't take credit solely for them. it's hard to say who has better contrtibutions on those songs.

Funny thing, as Izzy is very praised here:

Top 3 songs from GNR albums, voted by MYGNR forum members this summer:

    2. Rocket Queen : Rose, Slash, McKagan

    3. Nightrain: Rose, Stradlin, McKagan, Slash

    1. One In A Million: Rose

    2. Patience: Stradlin, Rose

    Why?

Izzy founded Guns N' Roses. Slash and Duff didn't.

Izzy wrote far more than Duff McKagan

Izzy wrote more than Slash also.

And do not mention the Izzy quitting thing as Axl quit Guns in 1995, creating a new band (which Slash and Duff subsequently quit), i.e. they all quit Guns at some point between 1991 - 1997.

They all might be legitimate reasons for having Izzy in GNR far more then Fortus, but Izzy just doesn't add much to GNR legacy today. That's why he wasn't offered more.

Izzy in GNR matters to some of the HC fans, not even all of them. I love Izzy, but I'm cool with Fortus.

All this years, everything around GNR reunion was about Slash, and Axl, getting them together. Then Duff, who is a sort of a GNR's good spirit. Izzy was not so much a GNR reunion object. Also, Slash and Duff had better carriers out of GNR then Izzy.

About Izzy's songwriting... I think it is slightly overrated. He is a good songwriter, but GNR songs that are credit as Stradlin's only are:

You ain't the first,  Double talkin jive, Pretty tied up, Think about you, Used to love her

And we can compare his songwriting to other memebers when (and if) GNR with Slash and Duff release a new album.

Yes, but 2010. (and 2012 Split) was nuGNR, and arena tours, and did both Zagreb and Belgrade in 2010., and Split and Exit festival in 2012.

They sure would gather lots of people in Zg or Belgrade - but not in NITL price range. If they would lower ticket prices (like Iron Maiden for Split last month) they could probably sell stadium or hipodrome...

I think that former Yu (whole former East block) is smth like South America of Europe for hard rock/metal music :D today...

I know it was different back then.

    US prices were high.

As I can see for South America and Australia shows, cheapest tickets are priced around 80$. That could sell. But floor tickets start from 150$ and go  up, that could be too expensive for the former Eastern Block countries.

But, hey, this is something that was not supposed to happen in this lifetime, and it is probably one time chance to see Axl and Slash live together in Europe. And with that  in mind, Europe is still not officially confirmed :D

    BOK!

I hope they visit Croatia too and that you can enjoy the show!

    Zdravo :)

I think they will come :)

They did 23 US shows  in two moths, and rumor has it they will tour Europe for two months also. On CD 2010 tour when they played in Zagreb they did 25 shows in Europe in less then 2 months (festivals excluded).

It wasn't a stadium tour back then, but nevertheless we could get something like 2010 tour :)

    whoooohooooo!

If this is true, 2 months touring Europe, they will probably around 20 gigs, and play in my country again :)

can't wait for them to release official dates.

Axl fell back to his 2013 vocals on Used to Love Her...but maybe a better video will surface and we can judge it then haha

I guess he was out of his comfort zone when he missed  a line, so he pulled his voice back . I love UTLH, still glad they played the song :)

  10. I don't think it was one big thing between Axl and Slash. More like a many day to day simple things and stuff. They both spoke about being different persons and having problems just getting along.

Slash described it best in RS interview in 1991.

As long as I've known Axl, we've had so many differences that have been like the end of the line as far as we were concerned. I think that happens with most singers and guitar players, or whatever that cliché is. It might look a little intense on the outside, seeing all this shit that we're going through, but it makes for a tension that's — in a morbid kind of way — really conducive to the music we collaborate on. But as far as Axl goes, he is the best singer-lyricist around.

Aabout media silence - it makes perfect sense. The stakes are high with this reunion that is happening against all odds, with a lot of really bad blood in the past.

Why would they risk bringing up old problems and feuds that could break them up again?

Do we know for sure that Slash is back in GnR as a full time gig?

We don't know for sure, but it could go that way. What Axl was saying in China exchange and what Slash told to Kramer goes to proof Slash could be there full time.

But, they will all have to comromise and play nice to get it done. The thing is, everobody in GNR seems more mature now, ready to settle the differences and keep this going for a while. when you look what Axl was saying few years a go about Slash, and now they are on the same stage together.

If you ask me, everything is possible. At some point (if they keep the momentum going) they will probably be pressured by the record company to make an album. So chances are small for all fresh material, because that would take time, a lot of time. So if they release new material, it would probably be a mix of CD leftovers, maybe some older GNR stuf and Slash's & Duff's material. Maybe a few new songs but probably not.

I'd say chances for GNR are:

25 % GNR releases new album after the tour with Slash

25 % GNR continues after the tour, Slash goes away and Axl works another decade on new album that may, or may not be released

20 % GNR ends with NITL tour

20 % GNR releases no new material after NITL, touring around from time to time

10% for everything else (i.e. 2017 AFD reunion)

But it's not an educated guess, with GNR all bets are off and everything is possible. NITL tour goes to prove that.

Not sure if its been discussed but there was some overlap to the two shows in Coma.  In Dallas, Slash and Axl turned into each other out on the ramp stage left.  It was talked about at length on the Dallas thread as evidence of "tension" between the two.  Well in Houston, at the exact same moment in the song, Slash was stage left and Axl came out there.  They were both looking for each other as Slash turned around.  Slash was laughing as they made sure not to run into each other.  Was a great moment and shows they were both remembered it and could laugh it off.  Not sure how many people noticed.

Didn't notice. What part of Coma are you talking about?
