LOL. How sensitive can one be to beg the mods to delete a thread so it won't hurt his feelings anymore? LOL

I'm assuming you as a pathetic GNR fanboy must leave the house a lot and doesn't spend the days worshipping the band from your basement?

Yeah, on the video above we see Axl on a major media outlet speaking openly about Slash's return, new music, etc. It's not an obscure event nobody heard about at all.

I don't feel cheated because I know exactly what to expect if I went to a GNR show. Axl has been sounding like SHIT on GNR since 2011. With very rare moments where he sounds like the Axl we all LOVED from 06 to 10.

Axl sonuds great with ACDC and like shit on his band. If you think otherwise it's fine. Just don't say he sounds or looks the same cause there's a HUGE difference there. If you don't think his clean voice and sad Owww's sound hilariously bad, enjoy the shows.

A GNR show must be a fun night. Just don't expect a loyal fanbase like this one to simply turn off their ears to the obvious laziness in Axl's voice. Casual fans can do it, we can't.

Slash also looks bored as fuck. The hired members add nothing special. These opinions should not offend anyone but GNR fans are like teenage Justin Bieber fans and get personally insulted by this stuff.

Have you guys visited any BJ forum? It's amazing how only a very limited number of fans still "protect" Jon from criticism. The majority agrees that he's done. He sounds bad and looks bored.

But with Axl fans, this kind of rational opinion is like an insult. I'm yet to see fans that act so pathetically to defend someone they don't even know in person.

Axl is not done though which is even more sad. He proved with ACDC he still has his trademark voice. He chooses to sing the GNR songs in a shitty voice and he doesn't work out to look/perform better. Truth is the truth hurts.

This sums everything up about Axl's voice. He still has it as you said, he just doesnt care about GnR...

The debate about Axl's vocals will always rumble on... but what I don't understand is why people's expectations are so high. What do people expect him to sound like?  He had plenty of terrible performances back in the day which were probably masked a little by the energy of the performance and the overall power of an angry 20-odd year old maniac's voice.

This is a guy who in his mid fifties gets up there and belts out tunes for nearly 3 hours.  In my mind it's nothing short of phenomenal.

If people want note perfect vocals just listen to a CD.  It's a live rock n roll show and is never going to sound perfect.  From where I was standing Axl sounded amazing 90% of the time, which considering his age, the heat, length of the set etc. is good enough for me.  Someone in their 50's is never going to sound like they did in their 20's doing these types of songs.

I was most surprised by his efforts on Civil War, OTGM and especially You Could be Mine which i thought were all solid.

If anything, some of Slash's solos were a bit shoddy I thought but you don't really give a fuck when you're enjoying the show.

WE ONLY expect him to give a little fuck fuck GnR... Look how he sang whole lotta rossie in GnR concert, and how he sang it with ACDC. That example sums it all up . HE DOESNT CARE about sounding good. HE IS capable of it, ,this isnt about age.

maybe I was there with a group of deaf people, like 67500 deaf people. Everyone I talked to after the gig was fascinated by Axl.

Have you been there? If yes, where exactly? FOS, GA, seated?

If not you just can't jugde as the ones who liked your post.

he doesnt sound as he did with acdc. he sings clean. AXL ROSE is not a clean singer, he had the raspiest voices in rock. Now that he sings clean, he is BAD. If you like his vocals, thats because it doesnt sound that bad. Not bad for pop singing, bad terrible for the Axl we know.

    Excellent show.

Overall the crowd was lame from my POV but I can't confirm the "just-seating-thing". Everybody around us was standing almost the entire gig.

Axl was awesome. I don't know how he sounded on periscope but live it was phenomenal. I didn't heard Mickey at all. Even on songs like YCBM and Yesterdays. That's what makes me think it's more an issue of bad recordings than a generall voice problem.

He had a hard time singing the Coma outro and didn't hit every note especially on Black Whole Sun, but overall it was just a GREAT performance!  Legendary frontman. Dancing and running around all the time.

Slash is a monster. He rocked the whole show. I saw him many times before but seeing him standing there on this big stage playing songs like November Rain, Estranged, KOHD and Coma was mindblowing. His Godfather is pure gold. The guys played almost a 3 hour show. I wonder how much time of that Slash was soloing.

That was my short review of yesterday for now.

you are deaf if you didnt hear mickey at all

thats funny cuz i went to the concert last friday in lisbon thinking the same. and you know what, his voice sounds amazing when you hear it through the speakers. the recordings only capture something we def don't get live. his voice is strong, in tune and fucking sharp life.

Stop watching the videos online, go to a show and make up your mind. But all the frequencies that get killed when you re recording a show through the PA system to your phone seem to hurt axls voice the most. the rest of the instruments sound more or less the same. his voice sounds amazing live, and here not so much. that believe me that the recording issue not what the people that paid money to see the show are getting.

Then why in 90's or 2010's videos he sounds amazing? I dont think there is that much difference live. 2010 he sounded amazing live AND on Youtube clips. EVEN with acdc he sounds amazing on Youtube clips. It aint about going to the live show I suppose.

  6. im fucking done with this... When i first listened to GnR, it was Axl's voice what got me into them. Now that his unique raspy voice is gone, it just doesnt sound right. This isnt fucking gnr man, I prefer Axl voice to Slash's guitar playing for real. If he had the raspy voice and slash werent there, I would still be happy with Ashba...

Maybe the weather play a part? Too hot makes throat dry?

So that means any show besides Houston was hot for him to sing ? Doesnt make sense... We all saying that he sounds better that 2011-2014 era. but IMO in some shows between those dates; he sounds better than this tour... He uses his clean voice more oftenly which sucks... Thats all. His choice

Oh come on! Learn to read. I said he sounds raspy ALMOST only when he screams. Besides we just had a lengthy discussion about this with Inciting Chaos and I don't want to repeat myself.

But, like I said. There are rare occasions, when he's still capable of singing with rasp without screaming, and it has a lot to do with the right pitch. Most GNR songs are too high pitched. He can't sing with a high pitched raspy voice anymore without screaming. Rock n roll thunder has a lower pitch which suits Axl's current voice better and that's why he can sing it with rasp.

You can disagree all you want though. But I've seen plenty of videos where he's doing everything he can to pull of some rasp on certain GNR songs, but just can't do it.

I get what you mean now. Im just really shocked at it, he sings this song with a deep and raspy but he cant sing NR with a deeper and less airy voice. Is there any reason about it? I dont think NR is too high pitched for him to sing well.  Why he sings NR like how he does, just asking bro. Im not trying to debate

Don't know if you're trolling, but seriously... ask yourself, why does he sound raspy on It's So Easy when he screams? Why does he sound raspy on Welcome To The Jungle when he screams? Why does he sound raspy on Better when he screams?

    The answer is pretty obvious...

He sounds raspy because he screams. He always sounds raspy when he screams. That's how his voice works these days. He can't pull of rasp when ever he wants to. He just can't. These days he sounds raspy almost only when he screams. That's how it is, and there's pretty much nothing he can do about it.

That's why he sounds raspy on AC/DC songs, cause those songs are almost 100% screaming. That's why he sounds raspy pretty much every time he screams on GNR songs and almost never on other occasions. If he could, he would sing with 100% rasp all the time. But he can't. Just like you can't do it, he can't do it either. Not anymore. Just accept it, stop complaining and move on.

He sounds raspy only when screaming??? Haha... Well,  take a look at the verse parts of this clip, he sings RASPY in mid-range and no screaming.

Its bcause he doesnt, not bcause he "cant"...

  10. Axl DOESNT use his raspy voice anymore, because using it requires much more energy. And he doesnt care if he sounds great, good or bad... He thinks that he doesnt have to prove anything to anyone( which is bullshit).

in 2010,2006 or any raspy show, he sounded raspy because he wanted to.

the reason he sounds weak on some songs isnt because he is unprepared. If he is unprepared to sing, then why he sounds crazy raspy on the "ITS SO EASY, SP FUCKING EASY" part?? Or any other raspy song. Why doesnt he sing NR through his chest voice? BECAUSE THATS HOW HE WANTS TO. It sounds like shit yeah, i agree . But not much we can do here...
