Axl just thanked the crew for the last 7 years. I don't know if this means anything.

It means they have a long break scheduled

fingers crossed this is not the case, but at these guys age the reality is that with a long break planned this might very well be the LAST GNR show ever... I don't know, it gives me the feelin' of saying goodbye and i'm appreciative of the 7 years we got back.

You think the band that sells toy trucks are not going to let you know when their last show and or tour is ?

I gotta say, I know people slate him at times but when thinking about it, I think Axls voice has held up pretty damn well when put ahainst people of a similar era. These are hard songs to sing and I'd take what Axl does now over Vince Neil , Bon Jovi etc anytime!....Sure some of the strength/power isnt always there now, but when you take into account his age, how much hes toured over the last decade or so and just how damn difficult some of these songs are....I think he does a bloody great job!

Cant knock his effort and stage presence.

Literally nobody is expecting that. But the band is outdoing themselves regarding the amount of incomprehensive bullshit over the years; therefore, people will react. But nobody needs your protection, you know? Experience or not. Some people here have been fans for a longer time than you – imagine how silly it looks when you’re trying to lecture them and mock them for being pissed off. Just relax, man. ;)

Not lecturing. Just finding the reaction comical

It's only a matter of time to have some outlets writing articles like "Fans outcry with yet another letdown by GNR". Like many said, the negative response is bigger this time. Above all else, this not about numbers. They do still want to be relevant, in their minds at least. They wouldn't advertise on Times Square if they didn't care.

And again: just let people be upset about it.

A media article will have 0 impact on the casual fan that fills up the GH tour.

This simply impacts a few thousand still interested in the CD Era. An Era where frustration was the norm

@youngunner Maybe look at things in a context. Some people have been following GNR for decades. And while they surely love the band... the amount of delays, failure to deliver, non-communication, ignorance, incompetence and other fuckery and general frustrating nonsense has taken its toll, which results in people being a bit jaded, upset, and sceptical, even spiteful. That’s absolutely normal, given the circumstances. I don’t know how long you’ve been around, and I guess it doesn’t really matter, but try using some empathy and looking at the big picture, unless your sole endeavour here is just trolling, which I would also believe.
Plus, where else would people vent about this than on a band-dedicated forum? Live and Let Die is a great song, but sometimes hey, live and let live. This is not the first rodeo, oh boy no.

Yes, I am one of those fans who have followed since 2001. It's perfectly normal to be frustrated. Im just trying to save you the time based off of my experience. This is nothing new. Much better to just realize that until the song is playing in your home, don't expect the journey to be "smooth"

I think you underplayed the fanbase here. We're not talking about numbers (but it's obviously a lot more than a few hundred). If the loyal fans are mistreated in that way, it is bad from the marketing standpoint, it's bad for the reputation that's already too damaged. And this affects the general public who don't care about new songs, that's for sure.

I don't get why you're telling people to deal with how fucked up the band is. Sure there's an ongoing meltdown with some way too dramatic fans (that will come back once they release something, I assume), but this is the moment to get upset. Just let people be upset about it.

This has 0 impact on marketing. The few die hands will either bail or continue to take any scrap they throw your way. The loyal fans, like yourself, have been mistreated for decades. It is what it is at this point. Gnr is just a touring GH band. The days of trying to be relevant to the masses are long gone. The tarnished rep impacts nobody other than the people who frequent forums.

Yea...but why don't you question that more...all that money you mentioned WOULD easily pay to run this organisation much more smoothly...many manage to be competent on far less $$$...it absolutely should be called out, like anything....people are more than fair on here....there was great buzz for the song...if you don't call something out, nothing can ever change. To believe they can never change is maybe realistic but if you say NOTHING and challenge NOTHING...it definitely won't...

I "questioned" it from 2001-2010. Once you realize things won't change the experience is less frustrating

I've been a fan since the late 80s. I'm pretty sure my expectations of this band were as realistic and low as they could be......seems they need to be even lower.

I do wonder how low we can go, if we're at the stage of paying for stuff they don't deliver without a grumble?

I look forward to finding out!

They are delivering. It's delayed a few wks. They didn't pull it from the pressing.
