Fortus is NOT just a rythm guitar player. The guy is a guitar beast. He is way too good to play just rythm guitar in AC/DC.

He is just too good. Maybe it would be a job for Gilby because Gilby is a limited guitar player. But Fortus? come on... the guy plays like a guitar hero.

Lead & Rythm guitar, riffs, solos... he can play everything with perfection. He will definitely be everywhere on the next Guns N' Roses record. 

Are Izzy's fans JEALOUS of Fortus because he took the spot of their idol in Guns N' Roses? 

Let's be clear : Richard Fortus is a band member of Guns N' Roses and knows how to write a great song maybe even better than Izzy!

I have respect for Fortus as a performer and as a guitarist. He is clearly someone who has studied various styles of music and can more then hold his own with a variety of technical aspects, fingerpicking, sweeping, hybrid, ect. 

Izzy isn't out to learn guitar playing like Richard has proven to do. But Richard has yet to prove if he can write something that is timeless and classic to the standard of songs like "Don't Cry" or "Patience". Two songs that have obviously stood the test of time that have Izzy stamped all over them.

It's a safe bet Richard will definitely be on the next GNR release, Izzy may but it's clear to see how much of a wild card he is. His gripe about "not splitting the loot equally" is beat to me cause the money was never an issue for him while he was in the band, that was never a reason. It was the drug use of the others, maintaining his sobriety and the drama of dealing with a band of that magnitude.

It may be a case of both Fortus and Izzy on the next release, but I doubt that will happen. So it's up to Fortus to prove himself as a classic song writer. Until then I give respect only where respect is due. Both Izzy and Fortus have things they need to do, but it's obvious to me who is more determined and focused. Fortus.

Would you honnesly put him in a stadium in front of 60,000 fans for a show? Are you serious? He would be a total DISASTER! 

"Not reliable" = NOT GOOD ENOUGH in the GN'R world. Stop finding excuses. He is just NOT good enough to get the job.

Richard has been in the band for 16 years. It is said his studio contributions are massive.

The album "Chinese Democracy" was mostly already written before he joined. 

But his contributions has been massive on studio for every post-Chinese Democracy material.

He most certainely has written more than Izzy ever did in Guns N' Roses. And with much, much more lead parts, solos and riffs.

Guys...

You just all miss ONE point : nobody needs Izzy to come back. Nobody.

NITL is the 4th biggest tour in music history... without Izzy.

It's all about Slash and Fortus on guitar. They are the ones the entire world wants to see.

Absolutely nothing.

At least, they can play.

Matt can play but Izzy "lazy cheasy" Stradlin' can't anymore. Hearing Izzy play "Better" would be absolutely laughtable. The guy can barely play a 3 chords song properly nowadays.

That's why nobody in the band wants Izzy to come back : It's not a question of money, it's a question of SKILLS. he would be a desaster onstage. His playing is amateurish. The guy has no skills.

Fortus is a beast. He is reliable and credible for the legacy. He is the past 15 years, present and futur. of Guns N' Roses.

Get used to it. 

BTW, the tour really needs to start again. This kind of thread is a loss of time. Who fuckin' cares about Izzy in 2018? 4 or 5 people on this message board? Come on!

NITL Tour must continue as soon as possible. People are bored around here.

Simple really? NB At no point do Izzy and Adler reenter the partnership (as many insinuate as being essential of their inclusion on this tour). The partnership is still a separate legal entity (from Izzy and Steven).

Alternatively - and this is a better arrangement altogether - you could just bypass the partnership altogether and split it 20% five-ways - or with Rose taking more and paying the overheads.

The idea of this partnership, which anyhow seemed to basically cover song licensing and (old band) t-shirts during the nugnr era, being somehow an unmovable bloc against creating an equally split tour is nonsensical. You can contractually create any performance contract you desire so long as it does not contravene prior commitments.

Currently, Richard Fortus is most certainely much more paid than Adler+Izzy would ever be combined.

You people are desilutional : we ain't in 1987 anymore. There are other people in Guns N' Roses and Richard Fortus has been in the band for 16 years. 

He is the guitar player with Slash of the 4th biggest tour in music history. So trust me, Richard is paid millions for that.

This succes is also his success. And he earns millions dollars for that.

Don't be surprised if he is part of the partnership in a forthcoming futur...

When (and IF) izzy returns, he will be the 3rd guitarist behind Slash/Fortus.

Slash/Fortus are the guitar players of the 4th biggest tour ever in music history : izzy is out of the picture.

Richard Fortus is more than ever in Guns N' Roses and won't leave. He is an absolute key member of the band and everybody loves him : Axl, Slash, Duff and the rest of the band.

Project 1  : Guns N' Roses with Axl, Slash, Duff, Fortus and the rest of the band... this will be the SAME LINE-UP for the 2018 Tour. Don't worry.

Project 2 : WAR = Chinese Democracy part 2 = Axl, Fortus, DJ Ashba and whoever...

Don't get me wrong, I love Slash and he is my favourite guitar player ever... but Richard Fortus is just outstanding and is blowing the entire world away by his phenomenal guitar playing, style, stage presence and fantastic chemistry with Slash. This is THE BEST guitar combo ever in Guns N' Roses. Ever.

I saw the band twice on the NITL Tour and people around me in the stadiums were like "Woah!" and "What a player!" when Fortus played. It's like his talent exploded to the whole world. He is already a legend. 

On Youtube, we can see tons of comments like "Fortus is better than Slash". It's impressive. Especially from the yonger generation. It seems that Fortus is VERY popular in the new generation. Lots of People even try to make "Fortus covers" on Youtube based on his playing. He is an inspiration for lots of people now.
