    Yeah, its cool!

There was a clip on Meegans socials of Slash recording the lead theme maybe a month back. And then in the pinball interview Slash talked about it being on an upcoming release to honour the late composer, a friend/colleague of Slashs whose name escapes me.

I still didnt realize we'd get it s soon and certainly its a nice surprise to come across today :headbang:

(The nylon guitar part is the first non-rock song I ever learned, so thats cool too)

cool - saw all these before... never expected this today!

I hate giving this answer, but it's so true: it's all relative and if depends on what you want to spend.

I will say this; those are probably decent speakers and they obviously aren't going to break the bank. It you go with those speakers, I would say you'll be fine with the Pyle pre amp you linked.

Whenever you get yourself set up, come join us in this thread:

We'll all be more than happy to help you through the process :)

Opened that thread earlier while searching - but haven't had time to read it all yet  ;)

    thanks!

  3. For those that got the Pro-Ject turntable in their bundle...  does this model have a built-in preamp? I'm assuming no... but just want to confirm. Looking at their website there appears to be many versions of the Essential III... I'm not exactly sure what we got. I'm trying to get around to hooking mine up and want to make sure I get the right parts.

Any recommendations for a preamp and/or speakers?

A couple people recommended these to me (seem pretty good for the price point)

Not sure about a preamp (assuming I need one for this turntable). Will a cheap one be ok or do I need something bettter?

  4. Interesting - had not heard the rumor that Slash was possibly working on a new machine.

I also have GNR machine in my basement... and would certainly entertain adding a new one. I'm not a pinball fan - but I consider the machine as one of the crown jewels of my GNR collection. And it's great fun for entertainment when we have company over.

Slash just wouldn’t be Slash without his iconic black hats.

Now several of the toppers, along with many other items that once belonged to the famed Guns N’ Roses guitarist, are going up for sale. All of it is from the collection of Slash (real name: Saul Hudson) and Perla Hudson, who was married to the rocker from 2001 to 2014. (They share two teenage sons, London and Cash.)

The items will be exhibited for the public at the Hard Rock Cafe in New York City’s Times Square from May 13 to 17. Those who want to make a bid can do so either in person or through the Julien’s Auctions website on May 17-18.

The hats that Slash has worn while jamming onstage to “Sweet Child O’ Mine,” “November Rain” and more hits from his collaboration with Axl Rose and company are expected to go for hundreds of dollars each.

It’s estimated that a felt top hat, featuring drawings by Slash himself, will sell for $600.

A custom bowler hat that Slash wore in 2010 will likely go for $1,200, according to pre-auction estimates.

Slash has such a thing for hats that his bride even wore a tiny hat as part of her veil at the couple’s 2001 wedding, and it’s also on the block.

Hats aren’t the only Slash apparel available: pants, boots and leather jackets are part of the auction, too.

Slash’s other belongings in the sale include the Moonman that he took home from the 1988 MTV Video Music Awards for his Best New Artist in a Video performance in the Guns N’ Roses hit “Welcome to the Jungle.” It’s expected to bring in up to $15,000 — more than almost all of the other merchandise.

Whatever the final count of the proceeds, a portion will go toward Youth Emerging Stronger, a charity supporting homeless and foster youth in Los Angeles, Calif.

any way to see more pictures other and buy the $100 catalog?

is there a link to the news story quoted above? there are different pictures in it than in this (wondering where they got them from) https://www.juliensauctions.com/exhibition-press-release?id=286

So got into a chat with Amazon. First they denied any knowledge of a price change. Was asked if I could prove it and they would refund the difference - I couldn’t prove it but was then passed to someone who confirmed it was $499 on Sunday - I was then told I wouldnt get the difference and should not have been offered it (I never asked - they offered it to me)! I asked if there was an explanation as to why it had jumped $400 and was given some flannel about stock rotation - getting rid of old for new - which is clearly not relevant in this case. Irritated - particularly as there was no reason for the hike.

I was asked for proof of the cheaper price elsewhere so sent them a link to GNR site and they will lodge a report regarding pricing. So - apparently if the page on Amazon has a link saying ‘cheaper elsewhere’ we should select it and maybe it will get the price down!

i use keepa to provide price history on amazon (and also notify me when items go on sale). it shows the $499 price on amazon from feb 3 - mar 11.... that could maybe provide you the proof of the price.

Totally agree with the praise for both @troccoli and @RussTCB - They're the best!

Mine was exactly the same in terms of cord, black pad and instruction manual.

There should also be the counterweight in the bottom (under the turntable) in a separate bag, and a white box with the adapter. If you have all this, we got the same contents 😉

The black pad is of fairly poor quality (though the only thing in the whole box that was, so can't complain).

I will either use no mat, which with an acrylic plinth sounds great, or use one of my own felt mats. Will have to see what works best.

thanks! i only took out the plastic cover - there was cardboard taped holding the turntable in so i have not pulled everything else out yet. i will - and will look for the counterweight and adapter. thank you for the info!

You can find all that on Soulmonster's site, http://www.a-4-d.com/

Just go to the database and pick a song. You'll read everything there.

have not been there before - looks like plenty of reading to do there ;)

does anyone know, i have an old excel sheet that had each song and how often they were played live. i noticed soulmonster's site has how many times each song was played when you read through the details. any idea if those numbers are correct - and where is he pulling that info from? has anyone else seen that spreadsheet before and is there an updated version of it in existence anywhere?

  9. #6859 arrived this afternoon!

special thanks to troccoli for supply things to the band (i'm really looking forward to actually hanging up the banner out in my shop) and russtcb for keeping this thread updated with the sale prices!

both of my boxes were opened - i'm assuming customs maybe looked in them both...

anyone that got the turntable - did it just have the cord, black pad, and instruction manual sitting on top when you opened the box? that box was not even re-taped when i received it so i want to make sure nothing is missing. the plastic turntable lid is on top and it is not damaged so i'll assume any other fragile parts are ok at this time.

  10. i ordered on the 31st... got two emails on the 2nd (assuming they were closed for the holiday). one was the confirmation and the second was delivery has been dispatched with the tracking numbers.

unfortunatly, the fedex driver showed up this morning while i was in the shower. i had no idea it would be here so quickly. now i have to wait until he redelivers tomorrow (there is no local office pickup available in my area).

    excited for tomorrow's delivery attempt!
