Window in the Skies, reached top 5 in the UK I remember.
That might be the last truly great U2 song.

Wow, I didn't know about that. What's it like? Are the band members in the video?
I'd love to watch it.

Was GNRâs Mexico concert the last big concert? Does anyone here know who the last large band or artist to perform live was?
Stereophonics played an arena gig in Cardiff, Wales, on March 15th, the day after that GNR gig in Mexico.

Whilst good for nostalgia and collection purposes the actual tape isnt that good. Noel had not yet matured as a song writer and it's still my belief that, for as good as Noel is in terms of singing and writing, he would never have made it without the band being fronted by Liam. It was Liam's look, attitude and vocal delivery that sold that band in the early years. Noel is technically the better singer but Liam is something else. Listen to Noel sung demos (all technically very good) and then listen to a Liam sung master and the song is taken to new heights.Â
I actually really love the 5 songs on the tape, but I agree with everything else you said about Noel/Oasis.
In case you didn't know there actually exists an even earlier Noel demo tape from 1988Â featuring 8 songs, 4 of which remain unreleased:
- Womb To Tomb*
- Baj*
- I Am The Man*
- England*
- I Didnât Think So! (aka Whatâs Been Happeninâ)
- Whatâs It Got To Do With You?
- No Cause For Alarm! (aka Hey You)
- Have Fun!!

hahaha how did you guys find his addie?
I believe the tape was posted to his managements, or maybe record labels address.
Either way I think they eventually got back in touch and confirmed Noel received it!

We need a person who can buy this shit. And all who want to collaborate with the $$$$ we are here!!
About 10-15 years ago on an Oasis forum I follow, a very early Noel Gallagher demo tape from 1989 became available which included 5 unreleased songs.
Long story short we all clubbed in to buy the tape, someone ripped the songs, they were shared online, and finally the tape was posted back to Noel Gallagher.
Something similar on here with this unreleased GNR material could maybe work?

Thing is - the person who has advised this appears to have no interest in GNR so would likely have looked at the contents and saw 700+ items without breaking it down.
That said - the figure of 48 full songs with vocals must mean some kind of interrogation of the data has taken place.
48 songs is mental.
We've basically been cheated out of at least 3 studio albums by GNR over the years.
I'm thankful we at least got a peak at the stockpile last September.

It may be 700-800 but how many are just slight modifications of drums etc ala Village Sessions?
Tracks with studio talk / discussion would also be fascinating I think, as it would give us an insight into Axls thought process at the time, and how it changed over the course of the sessions.
I'd kill for a boxset and accompanying documentary of the whole Chinese Democracy project /Â sessions.

Sooooooo, the chairman was right, didn't he say something about Hard Drives, and more to come?

Don't forget Tonto, Seven, Monstrosity, Dragon, and another 42 completed songs with vocals. All in the possession of Bird
Does that figure of 42 songs include the 6 or 7 new songs with vocals we got in September last year?

Just imagine one day, 700-800 GNR songs leaking onto the internet at once đ¤Ł
Seriously though, it would be great to know roughly how many of these songs offer us something genuinely interesting, i.e actually new songs / totally unheard takes.

After an 8 year wait, Bob Dylan released brand new music today.
Make it happen GNR.

Definitely still my favourite track of the leaks.
It's easily as good as anything they did after Appetite.
-
So the next gig that is currently going ahead is next Saturday? Fingers crossed for Hardschool being played next weekend.
I'm pretty confident that a finished studio recording exists now if Axl is rehearsing it. I'm hopeful now that it's only a matter of time before we get the track on Spotify etc.Â
-
It's a shame they didn't play Hardschool in the main set, but I'm still far more positive about the possibility of a new GNR album on the horizon after they at least rehearsed it with Axl.
Overall we're in a far better place for the new album than we were 24 hours ago. Keep the faith.

The way Axl sings 'faiiith' on the soundcheck recording sounds great.

If they are having trouble, more leaks could speed things along. Seemed to work last time.Â
Any actual 'fan' of GNR close enough to the band to have access to demos, or even fully completed tracks, should 100% leak material on May 20th if nothing official materialises on that date.
We've been teased long enough now.
69 days until "The Next Chapter" guysÂ

That Brasky dude is commenting on hoarders again and alluding that CD2 is in the hands of certain folk. I know thatâs been rumoured for years - just odd itâs been brought up for discussion again?
Which gets you thinking - if CD2 is âout thereâ, itâs entirely possible it will contain some tracks which could potentially have been earmarked for a new release (EP/album etc) so the longer that takes, a series of leaks could cause some proper damage - more than the last batch as these ones would likely be fully mixed/close to final versions.
My god, the day that leaks will be a great day.
Even a confirmed tracklisting (from a reliable source) would be amazing, just so we have something new to speculate about.
If it is indeed 'out there', and outside of the bands control, it should mean a leak is pretty much inevitable at some point.

A clip of it was posted on the bandâs official website a few days prior as a âtease,â with a countdown clock included, but no explanation was given as to what it was for. Around that same time, billboards started popping up all over the world with pictures of the five AFD skulls, but again, no explanation was given. Then, when the countdown clock ran out later that week, the SOYL single dropped by surprise, and the website was updated with the details for the AFD reissue (including its release date).
Were people losing their minds assuming a new brand new studio album was about to be announced at the time??
-
New material will 100% come eventually, after Axl's death at least.
So we may be still here waiting in 30 years timeÂ

I still donât understand why people think they would only start playing new material in the middle of the tour and not from the beginning. Because of some marketing slogan? What about the fans from Mexico and SA?Â
Itâs March or bust!ÂIt would be quite unfair on the Mexican / South American fans I guess, but they have to draw the line somewhere.
I'm clinging on to the little official information we do have!
If "The Next Chapter" turns out to be bullshit, Hamburg will likely be my last ever GNR gig.

Since nothing happened by now it's safe to say that it ain't happening. I actually don't think we'll ever get a new album.
May 20th or bust.
79 days until "The next chapter" officially beginsÂ
If there's no new single by then, or at least new material played in Lisbon, I've lost all hope.

March. No reason to say FY to Mehico/SA fans and spare the new stuff just for Europe/US.Â
I dont think the South American leg has been officially labelled the "The Next Chapter", so I'm not holding my breath for any surprises during that leg.
If May 20th comes with no real news I'll enjoy my Hamburg gig on June 2nd, but will stop caring about new GNR material.

Guys, it's not necessarily about them having to release a record within the next few months. It's about whether or not new songs will be played (like during the UYI Tour). That itself would be enough, the record can take its time. And that we still don't know.Â
Exactly this. We just need confirmation that new songs are at least being worked on, like Slash has led us to believe.
May 20th or bust.
The "New Album" Thread . The maybe, possibly, at some point, soon, whenever, wtf Axl threadđ¤

Imagine if GNR/Axl were cool enough to drop a track like Soul Monster for Record Store Day?
Instead we will have to wait until 2050 for a posthumous Chinese Democracy follow up album.
