  1. Try uninstalling the mouse in device manager under "USB human interface devices" and "mice and pointing devices". Reboot and let it reinstall. Its most likely going to be a driver problem, normally resolved by uninstalling and reinstalling.

  2. If you have a VLK copy of Windows, you're probably using an outdated, blacklisted key (fckgw or similar key). Theres a way to do it quick, painlessly and in about 30 seconds.

(no file bodges, windows recognises the serial and has done for me for about 4 or 5 years now)

PM me if you want to know the method (don't think I should post it). HV's method is okay, but when Microsoft release a new Genuine checker version it undoes your hard work. My method passes validation every time.

  3. Mostly people don't put root admin passwords on the computer - so for the username put in Administrator and just press enter.

Once in, click Start > Run and type: userpasswords2

    Press enter.

You can then change the password for the standard user in question without requiring the previous password.

In XP, boot into safe mode first and you will get the "Administrator" popup beside your username.

Alternatively, just format it from scratch. Theres probably lots of shite on it anyway.

  4. The simple answer would be to run Combofix from safe mode with networking. That would do the trick, then use MBAM to finish off reg entires. Works every time for me and I see loads of these a week being a computer tech. Only in heavily infected situation would I consider a reformat and using System Restore when a virus is around is just asking for trouble. I'd be running combofix anyway, to make sure its gone.

  5. Corsair, Seasonic and Tagan are what you should be looking for. Corsair do a great 450w PSU for about £50.

Yeah I am getting a Corsair one on friday. 450W or 550W.

    Would a 450W be enough?

Yup. I run loads more on a 550w PSU, so you shouldn't have any problems.
