Got lucky when they played Don’t Damn Me at the London show at the start of this month as it seemed like they were playing Bad Apples then Don’t Damn Me alternating gig after gig. Super stoked!
I felt the same – and I'd been going to every other show too so I only heard Bad Apples.
Then stood in Wembley, me and my friends noticed Brent leaked the setlist on IG and we knew we were in for a good night!

Probably because he’s completely irrelevant. I’ve often wondered why he bothers to stay on stage shaking a little percussion instrument that no one can hear during half the songs.
He's relevant because he's in the band. That's the top and bottom of it. Other bands have a touring member on keys and percussion, GN'R chose to make theirs a full member.
People don't need to like him, but at the end of the day he's entirely in the band

but when Steven went.... a big chunk of the Gn'R sound left the building., it's a good thing they found Matt which is also a great drummer but not that original big chunk. they were great enough so it still was cool, but it wasn't the same and Izzy said as much. Izzy is rarely wrong. a neat thing I've noticed. (when he does talk which is also rare)
None of that equates to the band's downfall though. It was still huge despite the loss of Steven. You're describing something entirely different.
The downfall wasn't due to the band's sound, it was due to personalities that remained in the band way after Steven left.

Not really. Did you forget the REAL catalyst for Guns N'Roses going downhill? S.A is the catalyst that started Guns N'Roses going downhill, and I don't mean sexual assault. 💡
The core lineup lasted years after Adler went! They had their most successful tours after he left, too

I'm doing Dublin too. Wanted Manchester but all of his UK shows clash with a work trip to the US, so I'm hopping over to Dublin before heading over the pond.
Can't wait! Last Duff solo show I did was great fun!

I wouldn't say confused, really, but it is puzzling that Axl kept the working title for The General when it seems to have no relevance to the lyrical content of the song, also considering it was named after Chinese food when the lyrical content is so heavy.
Only just seeing this, but maybe 'daddy' is 'the general'? The way he ruled over the person whose perspective the song is being sung from could be militaristic, so 'daddy' behaved more like a 'general' than a father.
That's how I interpret it anyway

I don't know about this one...not really a "Todd song", sounds like mediocre karaoke to me.
Meh, I liked it, but each to their own 🤷♂️
I'd much rather it get played by a band with Slash in it than not, especially given that GN'R won't touch it these days

I thought it was pretty common knowledge that Chinese Democracy was a Josh Freese song

I'm away working for all UK dates...
...so I might've just accidentally booked cheap flights to and from Dublin

I bet they do Europe next summer. Stadiums and festivals.
They did Europe two years in a row before the current hiatus though, US is more likely

At some point we’ll get the “We’re f*ckin back” tour with another NITL set
Why another NITL set? They haven't played that for a while now. Last year's set was a considerable overhaul

the guitar is a piece of history and a fine instrument, but it's not worth 2 mill. not even close to 1, but I can see how maybe in the future the value would be closer to these high numbers.
That's the reported value/asking price and has been for some time 🤷♂️ Although Hammett claims to have paid a bit under that

Kirk basically wants to have sex with it. it's adorable and he actually plays it live instead of it gathering dust. It's a beautiful thing even if you're not into Metallica.
or even very good
I saw Kirk play it at the Jeff Beck tribute shows last year. One he finished with it, he tossed it to his tech like it wasn't a $2 million instrument!
Still, it's awesome it's being used live though! A little less awesome he's engraved his initials into it...
Anyway, Chris Stapleton's the musical guest on SNL this weekend. Shame Slash isn't available

Thank you! Is there a way to do it without uploading them to another site first?

Agreed! I went to three shows and got Bad Apples at both of the others. Definitely not complaining there, but I was desperate to experience Don't Damn Me live at least once.
On a related note (and some might get mad at me), I never cared much for Bad Apples before – I'd often skip it – but it's almost been on repeat all week. Sometimes you just need to experience a song live to get a proper appreciation of it- 4

No band is too big to open for the Stones. If they asked GNR to open a show or two, do you really think they'd decline? I'm not so sure...
Honestly, I think they would decline. They'd never get asked anyway though so it's a moot point

They were going to open two shows for The Rolling Stones in 2006, but they were canceled after Keith fell out of the coconut tree.
Yeah but the GN'R of 2006 was a very different beast. You'd never see the current band opening for anyone, including the Stones

I think Slash seems content, he is able to do his SMKC AND solo album work as well as GNR, GNR aren't putting much out but there's something which is better than nothing...why would he leave? GNR if not the most creative of his endeavours,.it's certainly the one that brings home the bacon...
No new album + Hiatus + MyGNRForum =

It wasn't great, but it wasn't the worst. Manchester was marginally worse.
I'm just glad Mammoth WVH took the hit. Their first song was terrible (song was great, sound wasn't) with the snare drum drowning out everything.
I didn't find Wembley too bad during the Slash set, but Birmingham six days before was one of the best sounding gigs I've ever been to. Everything was down hill after that. If I hadn't gone there, I probably wouldn't have noticed Wembley being a bit off
