Did anyone else find the sound was awful for the Wembley show?

It wasn't great, but it wasn't the worst. Manchester was marginally worse.

I'm just glad Mammoth WVH took the hit. Their first song was terrible (song was great, sound wasn't) with the snare drum drowning out everything.

I didn't find Wembley too bad during the Slash set, but Birmingham six days before was one of the best sounding gigs I've ever been to. Everything was down hill after that. If I hadn't gone there, I probably wouldn't have noticed Wembley being a bit off

Got lucky when they played Don’t Damn Me at the London show at the start of this month as it seemed like they were playing Bad Apples then Don’t Damn Me alternating gig after gig. Super stoked!

I felt the same – and I'd been going to every other show too so I only heard Bad Apples.

Then stood in Wembley, me and my friends noticed Brent leaked the setlist on IG and we knew we were in for a good night!

Probably because he’s completely irrelevant. I’ve often wondered why he bothers to stay on stage shaking a little percussion instrument that no one can hear during half the songs.

He's relevant because he's in the band. That's the top and bottom of it. Other bands have a touring member on keys and percussion, GN'R chose to make theirs a full member.

People don't need to like him, but at the end of the day he's entirely in the band

but when Steven went.... a big chunk of the Gn'R sound left the building., it's a good thing they found Matt which is also a great drummer but not that original big chunk. they were great enough so it still was cool, but it wasn't the same and Izzy said as much. Izzy is rarely wrong. a neat thing I've noticed. (when he does talk which is also rare)

None of that equates to the band's downfall though. It was still huge despite the loss of Steven. You're describing something entirely different.

The downfall wasn't due to the band's sound, it was due to personalities that remained in the band way after Steven left.

  5. I'm doing Dublin too. Wanted Manchester but all of his UK shows clash with a work trip to the US, so I'm hopping over to Dublin before heading over the pond.

Can't wait! Last Duff solo show I did was great fun!

I wouldn't say confused, really, but it is puzzling that Axl kept the working title for The General when it seems to have no relevance to the lyrical content of the song, also considering it was named after Chinese food when the lyrical content is so heavy.

Only just seeing this, but maybe 'daddy' is 'the general'? The way he ruled over the person whose perspective the song is being sung from could be militaristic, so 'daddy' behaved more like a 'general' than a father.

That's how I interpret it anyway

Kirk basically wants to have sex with it. it's adorable and he actually plays it live instead of it gathering dust. It's a beautiful thing even if you're not into Metallica.

    or even very good ;)

I saw Kirk play it at the Jeff Beck tribute shows last year. One he finished with it, he tossed it to his tech like it wasn't a $2 million instrument!

Still, it's awesome it's being used live though! A little less awesome he's engraved his initials into it...

Anyway, Chris Stapleton's the musical guest on SNL this weekend. Shame Slash isn't available
