  1. You honestly think he's cheating on I.R.S. Fatness? I mean it's pretty obvious to me he just sings better in the studio. One song is a lot easier to be perfect on than a 2 1/2 hour setlist.

It's obvious to you that he sings better in the studio, huh? So why do you think that is?

I don't think of it as cheating. That's just the new style of Axl's sound. Processed, recorded seperately, over dubbed, tweaked and polished to his liking. But that's the times, I guess. Just listen to that Hoobastank douche live vs. on an album.

It's not that he sounds a little better in the studio. He sounds COMPLETELY different. Way better. Way stronger. He hits notes on the album that he won't even try live. Just listen to his scream at the last VMA's. Sounded like a 12-year-old girl. Then listen to "I never wanted you to be so full of anger..."

Honestly, what do you think they're doing in the studio for 14 years? Playing cards?

Oh I'm confident that he layers his vocals and sings parts seperately then splices them together and all that, I was referring to actually digitally tweaking recordings of his voice, I don't think he does that unless it's an obvious thing for effect like on the UYIs. I was saying I would be disheartened if he tried to pass off a digitally tweaked vocal as a legit, unaltered voice.

  2. However, I still think Bumble rocks, listen to his work on RAR 'Nightrain'.

That song is a prime example of Ron just going off on his own world without regard to the song,

you tune out the music, and it's just a guy trying to cram as many really fast exercises into the time allowed...

Do you feel the same about all performances of Nightrain? I thought the one from Rock AM Ring was pretty good, although I prefer Buckets.

  3. I'm a big Bucket fan and find his stuff much more melodic and enjoyable. However I do like Bumble very much as well, I can't really decideon which one I prefer in GN'R however as Ron hasn't written anything for them. Bucket's work on There Was A Time is one of the most amazing solos I've heard in quite some time, and I find it hard to imagine Bumble doing the same, but of course I hope he is up to it.

  4. Some quick responses to two points. Yes, every guitar with 2 pickups can do this, Les Paul's have a good toggle for this in it's strength and placement.

Next, it's a tough call in the BBF fan corner, but it's one he himself understands. It was already done when he showed up, and there's a lot reasons Buckethead should, and had to, be on it. As said here he was already paid a rediculous amount just to be in the band those years, he wrote parts, he's getting royalties anyway, and his playing is supreme. I'm sort of glad for the last reason alone.

Ron IS Buckethead's replacement in the 'top guitar'. Richard and Robin can't do the fast arpegios, Ron is far more technically advanced and is the 'new man' in that regard. The songs will come out with Buckethead signature riffs that will need to be played live. It raises the bar, in a fun challenging way, for Ron as he now has to replicate those licks. You'll hear that live... once the album comes out.

BUT, you don't build a chicken coop for a guy, take him to Dosney to talk him into staying, finally get him to lay down guitar mastery, then scrap it in hope that someone will do the part more justice. I love Ron, great player, but it's a great call for the sake of the record, so I'm thrilled with the news.

    Peace

    Well stated.
