The Sound City one sounds to be in concert C# recording, this one being in Eb - though that being said it is entirely possible they altered the key on it (Axl has sung it in E before, with Tom Petty back in the day, and it is a cover so they aren't beholden to a certain key like their originals)

while that is true, the rhythms under the solo are completely different, so it's probably a song that no one here can think of

People have been saying for a while they should play songs where Axl doesn't have to use rasp like Bad Obsession and You Ain't the First. Realistically I could see bringing back some Chinese Democracy songs that haven't been played in a while along with whatever new songs they plan on releasing.

as much as i want to see street of dreams come back, i highly doubt they'll tackle the rest of chinese democracy if they haven't already.

    But for how long?

I've clearly stated they have the following usable, unreleased songs for a LONG time.

    • Silkworms
    • HardSkool
    • Atlas Shrugged
    • Perhaps
    • The General (may not even be 'usable')

Then Slash mentions a new album and they tell me I'm wrong.

Then Slash admits there are no new songs but there will be an album of leftovers and they tell me I'm wrong.

Then Slash admits that the only imminent release is 'a couple' of songs and they tell me I'm wrong.

According to some, they have years worth of unreleased, finished songs to work with.

They released 2 out of the 5 I said.

There is still absolutely no sign of these make-believe songs i've repeatedly said do not exist.

Why does everything always come back to the same batch of songs.

When the 'couple of songs' turn out to be Atlas and Perhaps, will people finally get it?

why would you label the general as potentially unusable?  the song was done.  and songs like scraped, better's vocals, and the album version of shackler's are proof they worked on material after the village sessions.

It's actually the opposite. IF there is any Bumblefoot layer in that recording, is the rhythm. Every new lead on that track is Buckethead's.

Which, to me, means they had the plan to play the song live, nothing else.

After giving it a few more listens, the leads are definitely Ron.  They're on the same track as his rhythm overlays.  Unless that overlay isn't him

Yes on the latter, Bumblefoot plays the solo and some other leads, but you can hear Buckethead, most prominently during the chorus.

I hope to God they keep that in the song.

as a guitar player, i always figured the leads were bumblefoot, but it is interesting to learn that buckethead is there on rhythm.  there's probably a version of that song with his leads instead of ron's

You know it, I know it. And it would be announced in every review.

Do you think the song is that great that it should be re-released?

A properly mixed, final song should be put out.  Everyone forgets that the one on the End of Days soundtrack was only a demo.  Also Axl has said that they added more to the song over the years

Yea there was a demo of Absurd, it was basically the same as what was eventually released, but with different guitars obviously.

Going Down leaked in 2013, around the same time as Blood In The Water and some Better remixes. OMG and Absurd with Bumblefoot leaked in 2018.

Did anyone ever figure out who the guy was that leaked the Bumblefoot OMG and Silkworms?  And wasn't there a version of Street of Dreams from 2001 also in that batch?

Honestly the number one thing I hate the most in GNR fandom is the trend that began in the 2000's about "insiders knowing about unreleased material or new albums" lol.  It is the most annoying and obviously bullshit thing you can do to get attention

While it has happened a few times, one thing I've noticed over the years with this band is that if shit is going to happen, it will happen when it happens.  You can never count on anything.  Every few years or so we may get a new leak, but you can never count on it.

I definitely remember OMG in some alt lists 2010-14, but has it ever appeared on any alt lists post reunion?
