I imagine this has been discussed somewhere, but can someone explain this quote from the Edmonton Sun review?
"Especially stunning was a version of Set Me Free (relatively) early in the night. Axl knew he nailed it, even took a bow afterwards."
-
Well you were right. The new single is Street Of Dreams. Confirmed.
??? When and by whom was it confirmed?
It was on the radio. It's the new single. I was hoping it was going to be 'If The World'.
shut up. what you think doesn't matter. It's been well established it would be the 3rd single, move the fuck on already.
The single will shit the bed without a video any way anybody looks at it
It hasn't even been officialy announced, now will it be until this better video comes out, if it ever comes out.
It's been officially announced - moron. I simply said "I was hoping it was going to be "If The World" - so why don't you shut your illiterate fucking mouth you attention seeking cunt. Your opinion is worth shit. You are a useless, pathetic, piece of garbage. No one gives a shit about you or what you think, which is why you're here getting all pissed about 'Axl Rose' on the Internet or whatever. LOL! Monkey...

It does sound a bit haunting. Kinda reminds me of Zwan's version of Number Of The Beast.
That is completely different (IMHO). Amazing cover.

Just because it sounds great to you after 4 light beers and 5 tokes doesn't make it good. This is shit. Anyone could produce this crap. Listen to it again. There's nothing to it. The guitar riff played on piano and the ever present "nobody knows what it's like to have a vagina" vocal that you can hear in almost every mainstream advertisement on television right now (milking the popularity of Feist among others). Welcome to the status quo.

This is old. I've posted this before somewhere. I'm pretty sure Kurt admitted to ripping that riff off - but I can't remember where I read it. Either way - it's the same shit.

Gods of the Earth kicks some ass though...

There's some interesting Axl tidbits in the 'Music' section as well.

CD mashup has a lot of potential, but this one just strikes me as being half-assed and amateur.
You don't sound too harsh to me at all. I was disappointed. The above quote sums up my feelings about the mashups perfectly. However eventually I'd love to hear someone do something like this and really put some effort into it. Perhaps with a cross section of artists - not just Ludacris. Tons of potential for some kick ass mashups/remixes.

Anybody heard this stuff yet? Move Bitch with the riff from Better actually made me laugh. Aside from that - eh. Any thoughts?

Sorry, kinda off topic, but you guys should check out the album Zaireeka by the Flaming Lips. It's a four album CD which has different parts of each song split up among the four discs. You need four CD players and some friends in order to synchronize the different discs and listen to the album. Essentially, since each CD play has 2 speakers, it is like listening to an album in 8 speaker surround sound. Also, since the rate at which the laser reads the discs will differ slightly from player to player, the songs will fall slightly in and out of sync, which creates a unique listening experience each time you play the CDs. It's a lot of fun and a great album. Anyway, back on topic...
Off Topic:
Yeah that was a cool idea. I like artists who takes risks and try different things. You should check out the documentary "Fearless Freaks". They have the footage of them trying the original idea using cassette players in a live environment. It's a really interesting documentary even if you're not a Lips fan.

I don't think UA or DM come close to Blood Mountain by Mastodon. That record destroys them both.
I agree! I can't wait for the new album...
