On first listen: The best Metallica track I've heard in years.

As far as the comparison - waste of time - bullshit goes... I'm curious. What is the fascination with comparing these two bands? Why is it so rampant lately? They're both doing totally different things but people seem to be unable to separate the two bands even though they have nothing to do with each other, aside from sharing some superficial connection(s) 15 years ago or whatever. Why are they pitted against each other like everyone should KNOW why? I don't get it. Explain.

I also love the There Was A Time solo. The solo on Shackler's Elephant sounds terrible to my ears and I'd take a stock Hammet solo over that one any day.

I didn't know Dave Mustaine played on Kill Em All, Master Of Puppets, and Ride The Lightning. MEtallica has 3 of the 4 guys who played on Kill Em All in the band and Axl has only himself from the Appetite For Destruction album.

By the way, the guitar solo on the New Metallica song kicks the shit out of the one on Shackler's Dinner.
