  1. Im seeing them this summer! Can't wait!

I'm gong to see them too, at Roskilde Festival!

yea well be ready for the best fucking show youll ever see rock3

    im not even exaggerating

  2. alright so last night i saw the who with front row seat and it was hands down the best show ive ever seen in my life.

and pete townshend's a fucking badass still

but ya they played some songs from their new album that were pretty cool so im thinkiong of buying it so i was wondering if anyone has it.......???

  3. How in gods name do you plan on mixing Zappa and Tenacious D....:blink:

That's what I was going to ask.

    its eaasy

were going to have insane guitar and drums and instruments like zappa. and were going to have crazy insane lyrics like both of them have and were going to play acousticjam songs like tribute and its just going to be crazy so watch out for us.

our bassist just came up with COCK CHAOS

  4. dude this bband sounds like it will be great, i'm just imagining zappa and tenacious d together now :D

post up some mp3s once you have some please :)

ya definatly our first practise is this weekend and well most likely record some stuff

  5. this should prolly go in the musicians thread but it could be fun to just come up with stuff to so its going here

me an sum friends r starting a band and its going to be like FRANK ZAPPA mixed with TENACIOUS D. we need a name so please give us some ideas and it should be at least a little bit funny ;)

    thanx

  6. 1. Jimi Hendrix

    2. Eric Clapton

    3. Jimmy Page

    4. Richie Blackmore

    5. David Gilmour

and ya i havent seen much clapton or blackmore on the lists..... :(

    Save your tears for Jeff.

aw damn i forgot about jeff beck. hes definatley one of my favs just i like these 5 better.

but ya i dont think ive seen him on anyones list

  7. who plays the song Classical Gas? its a acoustic solo that kicks major ass. ive seen it labeled as a song by eric clapton a few times but ive also seen it by like 8 other guys ive never heard of. whoever it is kicks ass and i need to know who its by

    thanx :)

  8. ian gillian- deep purple is underrated as someone said... gillian can sing..just seriously..listen to sweet child of mine

dont u mean CHILD IN TIME?!?!?

but i have to agree he can sing like a bitch. He hits every note perfect in the live version of that song

  9. I bloody love Cream, awesome style. Clapton cements himself as the greatest blues-rocks guitarist of all time in it, and influenced others like Hendrix. I cant think of another band that did so much in such a short career.

    The Sex Pistols?

I never thought that Cream were that great. Clapton is so overrated its not funny, and the songs really just aren't that great.

Sex Pistols were a steaming pile of turd compared to Cream.

Please care to state why Clapton is overrated? Really i can't see why, he is after all one of the most influential musicians of the modern times (Slash?). No great songs? listern to White Room and Crossroads, those songs are so funky its not funny.

Clapton is overrated because he represents the blues for millions of people, and he doesn't deserve it.

Clapton is an AWSOME blues guitarist. but ya there r better blues musicians like Robert Johnson and Albert King. But yes he is one of the greatest blues guitarists of all time. even though i still think hendrix was a better blues guitarist

    True, he is good.

I just never cared to listen to him playing the blues, I can listen to the originals and that's good enough for me.

I met a harmonica player who had been in The Muddy Waters Band and toured with Clapton. Let me tell you he had a whole lot more to say about Mud.

ya i agree muddy waters is better. but i dont usually listen to claptons blues stuff. just Cream and i little of his solo stuff. my uncle jammed with buddy miles who played with clapton and hendrix and he told me that buddy said hendrix is 10 times better than clapton with blues. which i agree cuz his stuff with the band of gypsies is KILLER

  10. I bloody love Cream, awesome style. Clapton cements himself as the greatest blues-rocks guitarist of all time in it, and influenced others like Hendrix. I cant think of another band that did so much in such a short career.

    The Sex Pistols?

  11. alrite wen people say clapton is overrated they obviously have never watched anything live by him. every note is PERFECT, no dead notes or anything, perfection. he has the best cordination as far as fingers and frets i have ever seen/ heard

  12. MOTLEY CRUE- they all suck horribly at what they do i seriously do not know how people listen to them

BUCKETHEAD- he has good technical skills but thats about it. all he mostly does is sweep pick. which i hate. and his songs r just the same thing over and over again

KURT COBAIN- i hate when people call him a great guitarist cuz....hes not....his lyrics werent all that great either

  13. I bloody love Cream, awesome style. Clapton cements himself as the greatest blues-rocks guitarist of all time in it, and influenced others like Hendrix. I cant think of another band that did so much in such a short career.

Btw the Who were around before Cream, and Entwistle was the one who invented the Stack :P

ya but if u notice the whos style completely changed in their later years

  14. Roger Daltrey, a rare example of the band being praised more than the frontman.

ya even though he didnt write alot of the songs his voice is amazing and the who would not be the who without him. listen to Love Reign O'er Me to see wat mean rock3

another one is Jack Bruce. he kicks ass on bass and people always look at clapton but jack is amazing to

and John Paul Jones (i might have said him already  ) but ya hes an awsome mandolin and keyboardist not just a good bassist. and people forget that he did alot of the song writing in the later days when jimmy was shootin up and bonzo was drinking up

  15. i believe cream has the best line up of all time. Ginger Baker, Eric Clapton and Jack Bruce. All are masters at what they do. they were the worlds first supergroup. they are amazing an dthey set the stage fro alot of greats like zeppelin and the who.

they r insanely underrated. SWLABR kicks ass along with white room, badge, stange brew, CROSSROADS

    ya there awsome :xmasssanta:

  16. If 6 was 9 - Hendrix Experience...lyrics describe how i feel EXACTLY

but lots and lots more, depends on whats going on in my life at the time....usually its stuff like

    Here Come the Sun- Beatles

    Voodoo Child- Hendrix Experience

Power of Soul- Band of Gypsies...that song always gives hope

    Whole Lotta Love- Led Zeppelin

    rock3

  17. John Paul Jones- Excellent mandolin and pianist. everyone sees him as a bassist but he is best at mandolin

Billy Cox- is the shit. Band of Gypsies is the shit

Deep Purple- most underrated band ever. blackmore is one of the greatest all time guitarists. Ian Gillian has a voice that will make my nut sack explode. live hes just as good. listen to Child in Time Live. Jon Lord is an awsome keyboardist

Syd Barret- invented trippy guitar noises and his lyrics r literally like no other.

Pink Floyd pre Dark side of the moon- Their early stuff is the best. Meddle is a awsome album. they really know how to jam. piper at the gates of dawn is the best psychedelic album EVER
