*puts on Comfortably Numb at Live 8*
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I dont like that version.. I think Gilmour fucked the solo up
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Nah he didn't fuck it up, it just did a shorter version of the live solo he normally does for CN
Because Live 8 was running overtime, so he couldn't do the massive 4 min long live solo he useally does.
While the Pulse solo is great, i dont think it's as good as from the solos ive seen from when they were on The Wall tour, where he was standing on top of the wall soloing, it's capivating, so amazing. Plus in the Pulse tour he used EMG's in his guitar and has a much crapper tone then the awesome tone he had in the 70s.
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
i saw part of the wall tour but didnt really get to see his solo. i just remember him standing on the wall wich was fucking awsome. ill check it out cuz if its better than PULSE than it must be insane

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
His solo was better than Waters singing
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
ya but watch the solo in comfortably numb on PULSE.
that is fucking AMAZING SHIT right there. u have to see it

What songs did Richard Wright sing on?
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
he sings in the background of alot of their songs. you hear him pretty good in echoes
you hear him sing solo in time and i think in us and them too
he sounds alot like waters

whatshername from the great gig in the sky
i'm suprised nobody gave their hats off to roy harper
his vocals on have a cigar are pretty awesome
"everyone is just greeeeeeeeeeen" i think the best part is where his voice breaks here
anyways...i'll go with gilmore - his voice was stronger overall
although...rog has an awesome part in the wall...i forget the song that he does it on...but he goes up to a high c and it just sounds so out of pitch it makes you want to cry...which is what its intended i think
does anyone know what song i'm talking about?
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
hmmmmmm im not sure but i know he sounds really good in the song Vera
he does a good job sounding deprssed

animals-pink floyd

The name is Gilmour.
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
ok

Hey you're back bitch
I overall like Gilmour better, though Roger's voice on The Wall is outstanding.
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I agree, Roger's singing on The Wall fits the character of pink so well, it sounds tourtoured and in pain and full of emotion.
Gilmour really has two singing voices, i like his more husky singing voice like on Young Lust. Then you have his much calmer voice, like on Echoes which is great too.
I can't really choose between Rog and David, their voices go together so well.
When i was little and first getting into Floyd i didn't realise there were two singers But now its one of the reasons i love Floyd so much, Rogers and Davids voices give the music so much more depth.
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
ya i really like the singing in echoes. i love it wen dave and richard harmonize. it sounds like one voice.
david is the voice of Pink in comfortably numb wich is done really good but ya roger plays him exellent
i know i havent been here in forever but watever Ringo is back
-
imagine blows them all away
i like woman and instant kharma too
-
i like david gilmours voice the best. especially when harmonized with richard wright.
but waters voice sounds better on most the songs he sings
-
ok, buckethead is nothing compared to these guys so i dunno were thats coming from,
i forgot santana and alexi but o well JUST PICK OUT OF THESE GUYS!!!
-
i would upload it but im on someone elses computer right now
-
if u havent listened to Toad u must NOW!!!!!
ya moby dick does get a little repetitive but in toad its flat out double bass and insaneness the whole time
-
both are awsome drum solos but i like Toad a little bit more.
-
well.....
pretty tough but i say Vai is the best guitarist still making music today
for the love of god rips, all the rest are awsome to
-
alexs stuff is all pretty simple.
mitch fucking mitchell all the way, my all time fav drummer
listen to fire
it is a sock in the nuts
-
this is really dumb if u think about it....yngwie owns zakk no matter who u are, zakk isnt that good, his stuff is very simple and boring. yngwie is much better speed and emotionally.
though Vai owns both their asses
-
deffinately EVH. i dont really listen to either one of them but eddie created 80's metal and brought tapping into mainstrem (he didnt invent it). if it wasnt for EVH randy wouldnt have been playing most of the stuff he did
-
i like gilmours style better but clapton is better.
his style and just the stuff he creates is better. he is second on the greatest guitarist list in my mind (after sir hendrix of course )
-
they are not my type of music but alot of people i know love them.
i think eddie van halen is insanely overrated. people say he invented all this stuff when all he invented was the sound of 80's metal. he didnt invent tapping or flicking the pickup switch while playing or using the volume knob while playing or tapping with bends and fingers. hendrix does all that so i dont get were people get that from
-
It's unique, but sometimes it just makes the song worse. "Echoes", for example, is a good song, but I'd definately listen to it a lot more if a lot of the echo noises were cut out.
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
i fucking love that song! to me, it would be the same if they were cut out. it moves the song along nicely
Most Technically Skilled Guitarist....
in NICE BOYS DON'T PLAY ROCK N' ROLL

Steve Vai is proven to be the fastest guitarist ever. he holds the world record for most notes per second. but hendrix is still the best. shredding isnt everything
