He had a blues/rock band in the 60s called the Bluesbreakers.  Clapton and Jack Bruce were in it before they formed Cream.  It was also the breeding ground for the original Fleetwood Mac, and Mick Taylor played with the Bluesbreakers before he joined the Stones.  Mayall's in his 70s now, but he's still making music.

Has anyone ever heard of a guy named John Mayall? My dads friend just gave me a CD called John Mayall: Bluesbreakers with Eric Clapton. He is Fucking AWSOME. im sitting here listening to it thinking WHY THE FUCK HAVE I NEVER HEARD THIS GUY?!?!?!?!? He definately keeps up with clapton on guitr and has a very cool voice.

for me its CN....emotional as hell and just plain perfect, i love stairway as well though

its a tie between Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, and the Hendrix Experience

all were complete masters at what they did and all are remembered for that, not much bands can come close to what they did. no one will ever match the heart and soul hendrix put into his music and they all around just changed music forever...

i saw prince live a few months ago and he fucking ripped on the guitar, he is awsome, most people i know think hes like gay or something and dont listen to him but ive actually met him and he is very cool
