  1. I'm not here because of Axl Rose. I became a fan of Guns N Roses after I bought Appetite For Destruction on cassette in 1988. I didn't even know who Axl Rose was. All I knew was that the record was suppose to be really good and so, on a whim, I bought it.

The band and sound....as a whole, is why I became a fan.

Newsflash, those guys aren't in the band anymore - sorry to break it to you like this! It's only Axl Rose that's left from your favorite line-up, you're on the wrong site! A few of the other guys got together and formed a band called 'Velvet Revolver'... here check them out: http://www.velvetrevolver.com/

    Take care man, bye.

  2. It sold damn fucking well considering IMO. Not far behind Velvet Revolver's stuff and they had THREE EX-GUNS members and the ex lead singer of Stone Temple Pilots plugging them unashamedly like total cash whores. Axl didn't even need to promote the album. He wasn't looking to appeal to the general music listening public with CD. He was making the kind of album that he wanted to make regardless of public expectations and without wondering how much airplay he'd get. Props to Axl for not lowering himself to media/cash whore level as the other members of Guns have done.

It's not behind VR, CD has sold more.

  3. I see images of a flying bottle and a very pissed off lead singer challenging thrower of said flying bottle to a fight. Mayhem ensues.

what would the band do without your unwavering support?

  4. When Finck left, Axl said he was still part of the "GNR Family", he probably meant that he would still work with them.

    No, he said

Robin continues to be part of GN'R, by virtue of Guns' history and his involvement in Chinese Democracy.

Robin was fired by azoff.. his contract ran out and he was let go thanks to azoff...

although Dj is a great player and share his emotions on stage.

I do miss the things Robin put into gnr. his uniqueness was very great. and I loved his style goth or jezus looking...

bullshit, stop spreading this nonsense... it isn't true. If Robin still wanted to be part of GN'R, he would be, it's nothing to do with Azoff - this isn't the fucking Jonas Brothers.

  5. Bullshit thread.

African Child was a piece of shit. Chinese Democracy is an excellent record, it just has/had such an uphill battle to climb looking at the prior success and rearrangement of the lineup, plus the years of delay. The content is incredible however, just wish there was more mutual support behind it between the record co and GNR.

Whatever you say chief. A few fans on a GNR board think CD was great, but for the general fanbase and critical it totally bombed. That's the truth.

Bullshit, you know nothing about it - that's the truth.

  6. He was slimmer in 06, but even then he was by no means "fit".

The fact he can't get throw shows without the amount of solos there are, or some songs without sucking some oxygen off stage is a clear indication he could give a shit about doing the cardio necessary to build up his endurance as he ages. He still sounds winded alot, and it is a problem that could be rectified if he cared a little more.

There have always been solo spots, and he's been using the oxygen tank since the early nineties.

  7. I am pretty sure it was Axl's creation - or else the old members would get writing credits on the album

I'm not sure he could come up with such complex lyrics without some help. He must have had some help even if they are uncredited.

That's hilarious that you think Axl needs help to write 'complex' lyrics. You really are a cupcake.

  8. I disagree. I don't think the low grinding beat is nearly as pronounced as it would need to be for ME to define it as "fucking mean."

And I didn't think Axl's vocals were really clean....remember, this is the song with the infamous "don'twantodoeet" line.

I think Sorry is just an OK song....but I imagined something really different in my head from Baz's description.

Obviously we don't agree on this. Let's not start a flame war or anything....just different opinions OK?

"CLEAN' would probably be in regards to the recording, certainly not in regards to his pronunciation and/or delivery of words.

  9. From "Street Of The Blues" at htgth:

    5.7 million Worldwide

    1.2 million in the States

    via paid subscription to Billboard.biz

    So..... SUCK IT!!!

First off....HTGTH is pretty much Guns N Roses's version of Jonestown so anything that comes from there loses total credibility and second, post the link or don't post anything at all. Until you do, it's absolutely pointless bringing it up.

you can't stand the truth, you can't post a link since it's via paid subscription

you get humiliated and still you try to save whatever's left of you. what a joke

What truth? No one has posted "the truth". Not me, not anyone. I'm not the one making claims. I don't know how many copies the album has sold which is why you don't see me claiming it sold X amount of copies.

The truth of the matter is you and others like you want to believe anything you're told as long it's pushing your agenda. You'd rather just take someone's word for it and pretend it's true then know the facts and have them turn up negative. I personally don't care if it sold 3 million or 10. If Axl's new CD sold well, then it did. I'll be more then happy to amend this entire thread should someone post something credible but up until now, that hasn't happened.

We've had two people claim CD has sold 5 million. The first claim, I discredited. The second hasn't been verified. Until that happens, it's just another claim, by another joe schmoe.

You are making claims, you've described this album as a commercial flop many times.

There's also the Universal Chile source that stated that the album had sold 5 million copies, but that's not good enough for you is it? You obviously care about this a lot to have gone to so much trouble, so why don't you call universal Chile and find out for yourself?

  10. it doesn't say it's a dvd, just a tour promo I think. Fucking cool though!

True, but what exactly else would it be promoting when it says "2010" and "Guns N' Roses" with all clips of the band on tour?

Eh, the world tour perhaps? You should probably change the thread title, before you get flamed, it's pretty misleading.

    Yeah, I did.

I still think it has to be for the DVD. That footage is way too perfectly mastered just to be used for a World Tour promo or for a Better video.

Cool. Well I of course hope you're right! A dvd would be awesome! rock2

  11. it doesn't say it's a dvd, just a tour promo I think. Fucking cool though!

  12. I'll decide when I hear Down By The Ocean.

    here you go

Everyone assumes 'down by the ocean' is and Izzy song that new gn'r are working on. That's just speculation, all Axl did was confirm the song title and the song as one of Izzy's, he didn't say they were doing it - this is surely the song.

Izzy said Axl wanted to "borrow" the riff in Down by the ocean.

Axl confirmed that Down by the ocean is a actual song in the chats.

    it doesnt mean that this

is what GNR are working on. doesnt mean its not either.

When did Izzy say that? Not that I don't believe you, just be cool to read - never heard about that. I think Izzy borrowed the riff already, Skynrd?
