  1. Well, despite the fact that Muse probably are more popular than GNR right now, I'm sure a hell lot of people would go to the show anyway. GNR could play at Wembley, didn't the already this year?

    Arena, not stadium.

What´s the difference?.I always thought Arena and Stadium had the same meaning in English.

Technically the same meaning. But Wembley Arena and Wembley Stadium are different things.

So, one is bigger than the other?

Stadium is much bigger than the arena. ;)

  2. That Eminem album was pretty great. I only heard it a couple of times because I'm not really that big a fan, but it really stuck with me. He's quite a performer.

Alot of his songs are genious.

Im actually a bit suprised that AFD isnt on there. And no Pink Floyd... :xmasssanta: :rofl-lol:

  3. THis thread makes me laugh.

People here can bash Axl as much as they want, but when a dude suddenly says something negative about Slash, its world fuckin' war 3!

I agree, but to say that it was Slashs fault that AFD didnt make the top 100 is a bit fucked up...

  4. I was in central london today at waterstones (book shop), where Brian May was signing his new book 'Bang', which is a collaberation with Patrick Moore about the universe.

I hadn't spoken with Brian face to face in about 5 years. I use to know Anita Dobson (his wife) so I had met him quite a few times prior to today. To my surprise he remembered me and asked what I was doing. I told him about my producing job and music in general. And then the conversation went on to GnR.

I told him I heard he was going to play a few songs on the Hammersmith setlist earlier in the year but he said he was late to soundcheck. He said that Catcher in the rhye wasnt going to be played because "its been a while since I heard it, let alone played the bloody thing!"

I then asked him what he thought about the new line-up and he thought they were rocking, He felt that 3 guitars was a bit too much. He then said "if it works for Axl, then its going to work well!"

He said he was very upset that the old line-up wasnt together, and wouldve prefered them to the current line-up. But he then finished with " Axl knows what he is doing, and thats the only reasurrance I need."

  5. I've been devoted to *the music* for over half my life. Does the fact that I don't think Axl craps strawberry ice cream really make me less of very loyal fan?

    On this board, yes.

But Axlites have no souls, so I wouldnt worry about them. ;)

  6. No offence to Slash & co, but their music is far from classic or timeless and is already forgotten. That's what happens when you 'simply have fun, make great music and tour'.

yeah, who needs to have fun, make great records and tour? That shits overated!!

  7. Im satisfied, but I'm not impressed.

Touring is useless without an album to back it.

    nonsense.

since when do we need an excuse to catch a good rock n roll show?

    Yeah I agree!!

Lets have no album, and just have the Nu-band play the old bands material.

That way, there's no excuse for us not to watch them!!!

  8. - Ritz 88 show. It was one of the rawest and best shows GNR ever gave. No explanation needed.

    - Freddie Mercury tribute show. I get a huge rush everytime I watch the clip of Axl singing "Bohemian Rhapsody" with Elton John. I love watching Axl climb onto the speaker to belt out "So you think you can stone me and spit in my eye. So you think you can love me and leave me to die. Ohhh baby .." and then you see the entire crowd bouncing along to his words. I get chills everytime I see it .. Very cool.

FMTC is one of my favourites!! One of the greatest GnR performances I ever witnessed live.

Best KOHD ever from any incarnation of the band.

But my personal fav would be the final Argentina gig. Due to the electricity they were producing, and it was where I met the woman who is now my wife. :wub:rock3

  9. The offical guns site focuses completely on Tour promotion.

I find it hard to believe that axl would spend so many years getting the "right" album and then just throw it out on the stands without using the promotion machine of the record label. It's amazing how people will defend the amount of time taken by axl as perfectionism, then say he'll just throw out the album at the very last second without preperation to make sure it gets the best chance at success.

Hard to believe, but very possible and at the same time clever.
