  1. Yeah, I'm pretty sure my AFD CD has lyrics, as well.

As far as more demo discs out there.. I've heard that there's at least another disc in addition to Trunk's / Wes's. In addition, we now know of two 10 track discs Axl had in his hotel room. In this day and age of technology - it would have taken that driver all of 15 minutes to make copies of both. Then just say "oh, sorry boss, stuck in traffic" - not saying it happened, just thinking of the possibilities.

    -darknemus

Yeah I thought it was stupid on Axl's part to just leave it with his driver and in a hotel room where maids clean shit and go through things.

I don't think the Trunk is out in the wild though, I very much doubt it. I fully believe that Wes (hopefully) had the only CD with leaks and all this is fucking bullshit b/c if some one does have like 15 more tracks or so, I WILL D/L them. And I really Don't want to do that.

  2. I've said before - I think there's gonna be disappointment.

People sayin, they'll be better etc.

I think these are the done songs. Done and done. Who the hell layers like 5 vocal tracks for a demo?? With layered backing vocals, all the little guitar nuances...no these are the real deal I think (and am afraid for some people).

Axl Rose will easily do up to 5 vocal tracks for the finished product. Listen to AFD and Illusions he has three octaves going at some times. He fattens them up. Yeah.

Also keep in mind, these are some shitty ass mp3's. 160 190? Nothing CLOSE to 320. Another reason why these Suck in quality.

  3. Hold up... Madison, is that picture exclusive to club members or something?

The pic isn't, only if you want to email the band a fucking question and get a response.

For only 35 dollars trent reznor's assistant will respond to your email. Fucking Dicks.

  4. I'm just curious how people came to the assumption that these are demos. The reason I ask is because people seem to be using the defense "THEY'RE JUST DEMOS PEOPLE, DEMOS" to explain away any possible faults the songs have. When I was listening to some UYI demo songs last summer, I remember them being really rough, missing some "effects", and Axl would even say things briefly in between lyrics like "this will be changed" etc. While these on the other hand are quite polished sounding from a production prespective are they not, and Buckethead isn't around to do any tinkering anymore.

Are people just fooling themselves when saying this? Couldn't they actually be final versions? Or do you think the final versions of the songs will be quite different?

    they are demos.

they came from a demo cd.

    thats how we know.

no one has the entire cd as of now either.

    oh..... no?

    GUnsguy

    What do you mean no?

Yeah recording has changed from analog to digital most likely this time around.

These are demos b/c the mixing is horrible. 13 Million Dollars buys you a lot better mixing.

  5. I don't think the leaked tracks were directly ripped from the source CD. It is my theory that the CD was recorded onto a tape, most likely a DAT. Then the tape recordings were ran into the computer for MP3 conversion. My evidence:

1). Notice the loud "POP" sound in the first second or two of IRS? It sounds just like the popping sound one would hear when they press "Record" on an audio tape recorder. (for those of us that remember recording stuff to tapes).

2). The MP3's have been encoded at different bit rates. Not only that, but TWAT originally leaked in M4a itunes format. If someone would have ripped the tracks from the CD, assumingly at the same time, one would think that they would be in the same format and encoded at the same bit rate.

3). One thing I notice while opening all of these leaked tracks with Cool Edit audio editor is that the waveform peaks have been clipped. This means that the recording input was set at too high of a level. This could have occurred either when the source CD was recorded to a tape or when the tape was played into a computer to be saved into a computer file (most likely a Wave file). To give you an example of what clipping is, turn your "boombox" or "car radio" all the way to it's highest level. Hear all that distortion and popping? That's the clipping effect. Just picture a 20 foot wave that comes barrelling down a river into the bottom of a 10 foot bridge...the bridge cuts off the top 10 feet of the 20 foot wave. The same thing happens happens with sound waves when the peaks extend beyond what the audio hardware can reproduce. There is no way the source CD should have clipped audio, which again would point to the possibility that the CD was recorded to another media before being encoded into MP3 files.

Good detective work. Knowing that all the peaks have been clipped I can't wait for the album and clearer audio. If it is a CD though I wish some one could have ripped it at 320 without the clipping and re-release these awsome songs. I'm a quality freak.

  6. VHI Behind the music.

This goes to whoever said that Slash enjoyed new things like UYI.

Didn't Slash say "what the fuck, we were a rock and roll band, and all of a sudden we had a piano on the stage? What's up with that? That ain't the rock and roll I know"

I could be totally wrong but yeah.

I love all the old band members except matt.

  7. The Blues is the only new song worthy of being a single.

That song would be a hit single, it's really one of the best GNR songs ever, and it's a tune that could really be "Cross generational" and hook in old fans as well as new.

Did Finck really write that solo though? The blues would be good for both old and new fans. Plus there is no shredding at the speed of light.

  8. IMO

If this was released by the band or whoever they did it this way to see reactions from fans in pieces. I think that they didn't show us the "middle part aka the heavier parts" at first to see our different reactions to the different cuts.

They leaked the song without the heavy parts first - the poppy stuff to see if fans like that and get into the groove. And then they could have released all of it to see what fans thought of the heavy buckethead section in contrast to that.

Could this be a way of determining the best single possible for GN'R and asking its fans for their opinions..... with the different portions at different times leaked, I now think it might. Or maybe it is to see what songs should go on CD and what the fans would like.

Call me crazy but Axl has been away so long I don't even think he knows what his fans would like and I don't think this would be a bad idea.

  9. MTV tried to reach slash for comments, but Slash wouldn't talk.

I don't think Slash wants to come back to a GNR that plays this kind of music, that's why he left. If he could play the old stuff I think he'd come back.

  10. Deep inside yourself..do you really think this is great???this is just because your hardcore!

Do you think Guns will get new fans of this?I know that old fans is going to be imbarresed by CD!Like steven adler said, it got no hit!And it hasent, can you belive you will see any of the new song on MTV?LOL...this is more worse than Contaband!

Steven Adler is "imbarresed" by the new guns? "Hasent" he "imbarressed" himself enough.

I can listen to Contraband maybe once every two months and I'm a huge GNR fan. I can listen to this way too much.

  11. Firecrown is right. They sound like a cover band when they play the old stuff.

If the line-up hasn't been modified, they should play mainly the new songs.

They do sound like a cover band, and even though it was nice for me to sing along to the entire AFD record last time I saw them, I hope for their sake they tour on CD not AFD.

Now if members did rejoin the band, do whatever the fuck you want.

I just hope CD can win over my heart like the other albums did.

    Seven

I assume that it is in the process of being finished? What happened to it... Umm it is probably still there, but since Axl doesn't like to talk to us we don't know if its a top tenner. Maybe Uncle Axl just wants it to be a surprise.
