a recent review said axl sounds like cartman.
infact pretty much all neutral reviews slated the reading show.
-
i don't think there is another band out there who would consider going onstage an hour late as "having balls".
-
if the band turned up on time rather than an hour late then it wouldn't be an issue at all. they can't say shit about being selfish.
-
Oh, what a racket!
Let's look at the night's plain facts, okay?
2. They were on stage not even one hour after the previous band left it. As someone wrote: If you book a huge stage show like that for your festival, you can't reasonably squeeze it into a tiny time slot of 2 hours (including technical adjustments) after the previous act. That maybe might work for a modest club festival, but not open air.
Ergo - NOT AXL'S FAULT.
QOTSA finished around 20:45
GnR Scheduled start time 21:30 (45 minutes later)
GnR Actual start time 22:30 (1 hour and 45minutes later)

all sound has been cut, band are still "playing" but looks like game over
-
just been text saying axl has walked off mid nightrain

GnR on roughly an hour late. Friend summed it up: "the crowd flips between boos and silence"... #readingfestival

with RATM a couple of years back it was known months in advance they wouldn't be shown. they made it clear.
with this Axl turned up and within a short space of time the BBC change their "live stream" schedule to remove Guns.
too much of a coincidence for it to not be the bands side of things causing the problem.
Or maybe Queen Mom overruled the BBC because she's a Slashlite being afraid Uncle Axl would start ranting live on how Slash' Snakepit is one of the worst attempts of making music ever in music history. Come on man, baseless assumptions. Don't worry, we'll find the true reason after the weekend.
hardly a baseless assumption.
every band are filmed and all headliners are broadcast 'live' unless the band refuse permission. it has been that way for years, i have quite a nice selection of proshot dvd's from the last 8 or so years of reading headliners.

roy the official thing from bbc came via radio 1, they were the first to say guns won't be played

they're splitting the reading coverage to show a bloody eastenders repeat
9-10pm then half an hour of eastenders then 10:30- midnight
Edith Bowman and Reggie Yates present live coverage of the first day of the Reading Festival high up in their treehouse looking over the main arena. All being well, Axl Rose will have allowed the best possible view to experience the live rock and roll extravaganza that is Guns N' Roses as they headline the main stage.
standard bbc bullshit, also it's not going to be on HD

larry king? to stuffy...get axl on topgear
that would be amazing, i wonder what kind of lap time he'd get

They got a good reception in Leeds back in 2001 or whenever it was with Bucket lineup. This is going to be great show.
2002. and that was when these festival wereattended by music lovers. now it's all rich kid morons, and you will get the "where's slash" brigade as well.
i'm praying for their own shows because the way the festival crowd has been the past few years it's just not worth the money anymore, weekend ticket numbers increased day tickets declined less fans of the headliners and more idiots on meow.

quite a few places are now saying rage did it.

at 11pm last night nme.com still had tickets. most people had given up by that point i think so you might want to try there.
reading/leeds will be the chili's only shows in england as far as i know, chances of a UK tour this year are petty slim, though they might do a "roundhouse" type thing again.
-
....and the final nominee is....... Pink!
pink only sings from the bridge. not fair to judge her on that

What was that thing about TWAT video on official site? Haven't seen it
that was bullshit, quite a few thigns in the article were utter crap.

Muse are not as big as GN'R, so do you think GN'R will play at Webley Stadium next year?
in the UK muse are way bigger than gnr, this ain't 1993 anymore.
if they get the album out maybe there will be enough support, but at the moment i doubt it, they didn't manage to sell out all the arena's they played in.

frusciante, he's the best guitarist alive today, technically he's capable of playing zappa's entire catalogue by ear and when it comes down to the emotion going into his playing i've never seen anything like it. also he doesn't feel the need to show off his ability and ram thousands of notes into songs or put in complex sweeps etc, he does what is needed for the songs which is what shows a top guitarist.
he's miles better than finck in every way.
-
anyone who's so uptight about this album being released this year needs to relax, there's far more important stuff going on in the world than whether or not gnr release an album.
-
no artwork, no tracklist, no reviews yet - and still problems with the sanctuary group......i think there is no chance for cd this year....libertad by vr is in production-mixing status right now....
will there be a "freedom" battle in spring 2007?
according to matt they're doing pre-production on libertad at the moment. so it's nowhere near being mixed yet.
