I don’t have a problem with the song being old. I just find that releasing it as a single is a stupid move that makes absolutely no sense UNLESS that’s the road they choose to go and decide to release music without ever putting a foot in the studio, just cashing in on the good old days of glory... then it makes complete sense.

I say just wait and see. Two years ago we were amazed to see Axl, Duff and Slash on the same stage for the first time since 1993. I've even released two commemorative multicam videos in the last 48hs because that was insane and a very happy moment. Then we discovered that (in opposite to what some people say in this very same thread), Slash was open to play many Chinese Democracy songs. Then we had a world tour, Axl with Ac/Dc, and now the rumour is Axl recording with Angus and Slash with MK (they have a record contract, so they have to). 

If you ask me, i think is logic: Slash and Axl are working on other stuff, now: they can't keep touring without releasing something right? Then, the easiest way is to give us an amazing and remastered AFD with an old/new single and then record a new album for 2019. Just my thoughts, but maybe it is what we are going to see.

And I’m not talking about the music itself, –which people are free to love or hate– it’s the fact that they decided to release it as a single. FFS, it’s a song that has been available for decades in official releases. It’s a song that wasn’t considered good enough to be a single back then. It’s wasn’t considered good enough to even be in AFD or Lies. I guess 2018 GNR standards are way lower than 1987’s.

Oh, I heard that the next single will be Back Off Bitch, but it is a 1986 version where Axl misses a “woh” after the chorus/before the next verse, that makes it a brand new song! OMG this new era of GNR is so prolific and exciting!

Right when you thought that having Slash and Duff back would fuel the creative process to make new song, they turn into KISS. Gene Simmons must be proud.

Some people start attacking another forum members because they are dissapointed with a song and that's what i was talking about.

And for the second part of your post... well, yeah, it is old, so what? We all know about that because we are GN'R nerds, so what?

I am excited because it is a very cool alternate take, and a modern mix that is great to hear, on a upcoming box set filled with great demos that are taken straight from the source, as opposed to bootlegs were the generations and sources can be questionable.

That is something that is a great thing, and I am celebrating that.  I don't think this release is perfect - I would definitely change one or two things, but hey I am glad it is happening and I am glad AFD is finally getting a deluxe box set

Ok, i know you can feel frustrated, i'm just saying there's no need to be hostile with people who likes this new/old song. That's all. I really hope we can all get to hear a new record and they call even Tracii Guns so everyone is happy, but as you said (and you are right on that point) i don't think Axl is going to surprise us in (at least) some time.

This is a lazy band, we all know that, and we love them anyway. So, my choice is: i'll get what i can and i'll be happy with that.

I am in this forum since 2002 i think.

I'm listening GN'R for 25 years now and attended to the end of the Skin And Bones tour 1993

I have a youtube channel dedicated to GN'R with multicam videos and before that i used to remaster many shows shared on this very same forum

2003-2008 era was great, specially 2006 with Finck on fire

Back in 1995 i used to program "shadow of your love" on my cd player to wake me up in the mornings

Are you really trying to see who has the longer one?

Billboard Argentina says it is a new single indeed, and considering it has never been released as single, wel... it is a new single. Not new song for the most of us, but for another 7 billion people it is.

Yeah, i know it is hard, but GN'R is not a regular R&R band, it is something from a parallel universe and things there are pretty different XD

Anyway, if there's a legal issue about re-recording it Megan is not going to tell us "yeah, my boyfriend recorded some new things here and there".

So, yes, maybe a little conspirative but i think this is a mix of old and new recordings, including some extra (female) voices on the back.

I have to agree, really sounds like her voice. Also, there's pretty clear (if you hear carefully) that there's some new layers, mostly guitars. They sound "outside" the general sound and i don't think it is the mix, i think it is new because of the sound, absolutely different. BTW, i really love this version.

I don't have any problems to share my edit on YouTube but i had trouble with my Multicamshow from Mönchengladbach 2012 on YouTube. It was shutted down because some original Uploaders flagged the video.

Really? I've never had that problem. But most of the time i'm sharing the names of the original tapers so they don't get mad haha. Anyway, can't wait to see what you're doing, we need more videos, more multicam shows since GN'R is releasing... nothing?

Well, the original post was already too big so i decided to cut it in two pieces. Stille i have plenty of videos to make and share and i would love to know what you think about what is already done and what you expect. Is there any video you'll like to see on a near future? Maybe related to solo careers? Just LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK and if it's ok with you support me on Patreon, i'm starting a project to help new bands to have their first promotional video for free!!! (and yes, you can help)
