None of us know if the original members would or would not have been successful without GnR. So can the axl-lovers stop bashing slash, and the slash-lovers stop bashing axl. It is ridiculous. A Fan of the old band should be a fan of all members. And if not......just move on. Like ALL the members of the original band have. It is IDIOTIC for a fan on a rock forum to have more built up anger about Axl using the GnR name than Slash, Duff and Izzy do.

Axl, Slash, Duff and Izzy were all extremely talented musicians, and all of them probably would have had a band that got a "shot" to make it big. Groghan, you write the same repeated posts over and over and over again. Every time you mention that the name does not matter (this is also something you mention ever time) you never say that Slash or Duff should be allowed to use the name. You really can't have it both ways.

I really didn't get an answer to my question about the name, just a sarcastic reply. I was trying to give you a polite hint to stop using capital letters unless it is for a real emergency. We don't need rigorous mathematical proofs to discuss Guns N' Roses. If we were all limited to discussing strict encyclopedic knowledge on GN'R then there would be a lot less discussion going on, and this place would be boring.

And Conner, I agree with you 100 percent that the biggest and most sad thing about all of this? No music for 15 years. Tragedy in terms of the music world. 5 albums in 15 years is not too much to "wish" for from a band. Think how awesome it would be to have 60-70 more songs out there right now with Axl singing on them.

I disagree. I think a majority of the problem isn't that Axl took the GNR name, it's that he took the name and did fuck all worthwhile with it for at least fifteen years.

I respectfully disagree. I'm a fan of the old band. But I just don't understand why any "fan" still carries a grudge about the actual "name" of a band. It makes no sense to me. Slash, duff and Izzy have all moved on - but a small section of fans can't. Weird.

Personally, the name of a band has no bearing on my musical preference. Appetite and Chinese Democracy are two of my favorite albums because of the MUSIC that is on those two albums. I could care less the name of the band or what members are in the band. I'm in this for the music - nothing else.

I mean they played TWO back to back completely sold out shows at the 02 area, which is 20,000 people, this year. They played a completely sold out 45,000 strong show in Argentina this year--Just two examples of a number of sell out shows above the 10,000 mark.

I saw them twice and if there is another U.S. show and there aren't new songs - I won't go. I've heard the classics live. I've listen to the live album a thousand times. I've watched a thousand youtube videos of the classics. I'd much rather see a show next year that featured all songs from CD and CDII.

That makes no sense at all. There have been several published "best rock singer of all time" polls this month in major magazines and Axl has either won or placed very high. The name Axl Rose is a brand name, and everybody in rock knows who he is.

When u sign to a record label? When u put out an ep? An album? So if Band X puts out their debut album, then their guitar player quits, and the new guitar player is on the band's next ten albums......is he still a "hired hand" because he didn't play on the original album?

I think Duff's version is probably the closest to reality of everybody elses.

Personally I could care less if he does or not. We are not friends. He is a singer in a band. He puts out music - I buy the album. He goes on tour - I choose whether or not to pay for tickets. That is the entire relationship.
