Honestly, can we blame any GNR fans for wanting more?  After literal decades of the band's archives being largely ignored, while this concert film is stellar, does it make up for 30 years of Axl ignoring the band in its prime save for a heavily overdubbed compilation live album in 1999?

That being said this live video is gonna be keeping me busy for a while and I am loving the hell out of it

I totally understand, I do. I’ve been a fan since 1987 but my god, that concert. I honestly kept saying to myself “Is this really happening?” while watching it. That concert film is so amazing it blew my fucking mind.

I highly doubt it would be shot on film. Both because of the cost of the film material and because of the need to hire a sound operator next to the DOP. You cannot record sound directly on the film. That would make things much more complicated. So if they say they have 24/7 footage from 3 years, that would make hundreds if not thousands of hours of material. So I am pretty sure most of it is shot on video (with sound directly on the camera), some small bits maybe on 16mm (which is 2K). But definitely not on 35mm. Maybe only a few shows like Ritz '91, which they did record on film because of the YCBM music video as we all know. But I don't think anything off the stage would be shot on 35mm.

It was all shot on 35mm film, intended to be released in cinemas. There are plenty of shots of the film crew in old MTV reports.

    Good observation.

Taking in consideration most of songs were recorded along UYI, same recording process, same mixer.

Difference is straight rock ( or punk ) tunes in the case of TSI.

Izzy's guitars perhaps wouldn't be so much useful for the up to 5  minute songs. He got bored or just lay a subtle guitar part for those as far as i remember.

That's why he is not so present in the mix in many or even not playing at all.

Matt has a great drum sound on those sessions. He explained they worked with lots of different snare sounds.

Izzy isn’t on TSI. Or are you talking about UYI?
