Estranged Reality Posted April 30, 2008 Share Posted April 30, 2008 I think it sounds a bit too messy and aimless. There's a million different things going on at once, layer upon layer - yet no real melodic hook to the song. Nothing that makes it very memorable. I mean, "Speed of Sound" at least had a hook to it. That makes this one a "grower" perhaps - I'm already liking it a bit more on subsequent listens - but it's a poor choice as a lead single for sure, and makes me question how subpar the rest of the album must be if they think this is the best thing to put out first.
